Napoli needs a defender: The Name

The revolution at Napoli will continue into January. In the winter transfer market, the club aims to gift a new central defender to Conte.
Despite the heavy defeat suffered today against the Atalanta, Napoli does not stop dreaming big. The goal of the Neapolitan club remains to provide Antonio Conte with all the necessary resources to secure qualification for the next Champions League as soon as possible.
The Azzurri squad has shown some deficiencies, but the priority ahead of the winter transfer window is the acquisition of a new central defender. This need arises from the ongoing adaptation of young Rafa Marìn to Italian football and the potential departure of Juan Jesus, who is no longer part of the coach’s plans.

Napoli, three names on the list for defense
To address this gap, the Azzurri club has already begun considering several names. At the top of the list remains Radu Dragusin. The Romanian defender, who was courted last January, continues to lack playing time at Tottenham and seems ready for a change. He faces stiff competition, with Juventus also reportedly monitoring the situation.
Next is Jaka Bijol. The central defender from Udinese has demonstrated great reliability in Serie A, attracting interest from Inter during the summer. However, a transfer in January seems unlikely, as Udinese, engaged in a relegation battle, would be reluctant to part with him midway through the season, especially without a ready replacement.
The most feasible name is Jakub Kiwior. The Polish defender, currently with Arsenal, is not in Arteta’s plans and may seek playing time elsewhere in January. The English club appears willing to consider a loan with an option to buy, a formula that Napoli would welcome both economically and for the opportunity to evaluate the player within Conte’s setup. This solution could represent the ideal option for the Neapolitans.
There are still two months until the market opens, but one thing is certain: Napoli is already moving to strengthen the squad.
