There is regret, we wanted a different result. We need the fans

Torino, Paolo Vanoli Nesta spoke at today’s press conference following the home draw against Monza in the 13th round of Serie A
The Torino of Paolo Vanoli could not do more than a draw against Monza, in a match that seemed within reach to bounce back in the league. The Granata, who took the lead thanks to Masina’s goal, failed to maintain control of the game and were equalized just a few minutes later by Djuric’s goal, which set the score at 1-1.
With this result, Torino reaches 15 points in the standings, occupying the eleventh position after 13 rounds. However, today’s draw interrupts a streak of three consecutive defeats, easing a worrying results crisis.
Nevertheless, it is evident that Vanoli’s team is going through a difficult period. Toro can’t seem to win anymore and struggles to play convincing football.
Following are the words of coach Paolo Vanoli after the match.
Torino, Vanoli’s words
It was important to break the trend of defeats: how do you welcome this draw?
“There is regret, we wanted a different result. The positive thing is that we fought for it at all costs, something we had missed in some games. And you also have to be careful not to let it slip away… Today I saw a step forward.”
Did the surreal atmosphere in the stadium affect you a little?
“No, I have trained the players to be focused on the field. Fans must support us, they must be even closer now and I know they will be.”
An opinion on Njie
“He did well to come in like that, he has quality. Those who came in gave more to try to win. He must experience it with joy, he has a future but he must understand how to be a footballer.”
The fans cheered for you…
“They have always been close to me, but I would like them to be close to the team that needs it. There are still six games left in the first half, we need to speed up.”
Was there a lack of precision in the shots?
“When you go through these periods, you lack clarity. But those who came in wanted to try to win. Even the moment leads you to be less qualitative, you are a bit frenetic. Lazaro was a bit too low to break through… Now we have another development compared to the start of the season. The important thing is to shoot, our players have quality.”
A comment on set-piece goals: Was Vlasic marking Djuric?
“It wasn’t planned, but we were working in zones. The second line had to be blocked, in that case, the man in front of Vlasic could have taken it. Height makes the difference, but Vlasic did what he had to do.”
Again on Njie, he came in with a fierceness that those who started the match didn’t have…
“He doesn’t need to hold back, he just needs to have fun. I feel sorry when young players are attacked because they make mistakes, Njie must keep smiling and understand how to become a player. He showed quality in one-on-one situations, he is a player with different characteristics. He helped us to access it, he did well.”
How can you fit Njie into a possible starting eleven?
“All the players in the squad can play from the first minute. Whether he starts or comes in, he must always give us this. He did well, but Vojvoda also came in very well. We are working on new mechanisms and we need to work on them.”
How did you see Gineitis and Pedersen?
“I like Pedersen’s initiative, he has the running characteristics of Bellanova and Vlasic sends him well into space. We did less well on the left, even Gineitis never found the space to attack. He and Ricci did better with the double midfielder, it’s a solution we can think about.”
Were you afraid at the start of the first half?
“It comes from the period we are going through. When the results come, you play with a free mind, now you want to do it and you are too frenetic. When you are mentally free, you also score at the intersection of the posts… But these periods can only make us grow.”

Gimenez, Conceicao, Saelemaekers e Ricci spesso in area simulano” x.com/NicoSchira/status/1980604955258941881

Juventus, a year ago was destined to leave Turin, today is one of Tudor’s certainties. The choice of the management to renew him has become a sign of continuity and trust.
Just a year ago Daniele Rugani seemed to be saying goodbye to Juventus. Like it happened to Huijsen, Soulé and partly to Federico Chiesa, for him too the club had drawn a clear line: those who did not fit into Thiago Motta’s technical plans were invited to find a new placement. But the fate of the Tuscan defender took a different turn.
Despite having a contract expiring eight months from the end of the season, the Juventus management decided to exercise the unilateral renewal clause for another year, a clear sign of trust. Despite everything, Rugani has proven to be a reliable, serious, and professional player, earning a leading role in a team still in search of balance.
Juventus, Tudor’s few certainties
In a complicated moment for the defense and more generally for Igor Tudor’s Juventus, number 24 represents a technical and moral certainty, a symbol of belonging and continuity. The club, which a year ago seemed ready to turn the page, has instead decided to focus on a player who knows the environment, accepts hierarchies, and knows how to be ready when needed.
In short, after almost ten years in black and white, Rugani has returned to being more than just a backup!

Marco Materazzi reveals: after the 2006 World Cup, a possible transfer to Roma, but I stayed at Inter due to lack of favorable conditions.
The Background of a Missed Transfer
Marco Materazzi, iconic Italian defender, has revealed an interesting background story about his career. After the triumph of the Italian National Team at the 2006 World Cup, Materazzi had the opportunity to move to Roma. However, according to the former defender, the transfer did not materialize because “they wanted to get married with dried figs,” a metaphor highlighting the lack of suitable conditions for the agreement. Materazzi, therefore, chose to stay at Inter, where he continued to achieve both personal and team success.
The Dream of Playing with Totti and De Rossi
Materazzi also expressed some regret for not being able to play alongside Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi. According to him, the combination of talent could have led to great success for Roma. Nevertheless, the defender is satisfied with his career at Inter, where he contributed to writing indelible pages in the club’s history. His words, reported on Twitter by Nicolò Schira, tell of a crucial period in his career and offer an interesting insight into decisions that could have changed the course of his footballing life.
