Sassuolo, a record-breaking home form – Calcio style

Sassuolo is literally dominating this year’s Serie B: among the impressive records of the Emilian team, there is the home points average, better than Benevento 2019/20.
Sassuolo is the dominant force in this season’s Serie B: among the various records that the team coached by Fabio Grosso is achieving, there is the home points average, which if maintained until the end of the season would be even better than the record set by Inzaghi’s Benevento in 2019/20.
Sassuolo, record points average, close to beating Benevento’s 2019/20 record
For Sassuolo, it’s a record-breaking season in Serie B. It was known from the start that the Emilian neroverdi were the team to beat, much like AC Milan in 1981 and 1983 or Juventus in 2006/07, with top-tier players like Berardi, Mulattieri, Laurentiè, and Thorstvedt. Among the records that the team coached by the hero of Berlin Fabio Grosso holds is the home points average, which if maintained until the end of the season would surpass the one held by Inzaghi’s record-breaking Benevento in 2019/20.
The draw on March 9th for the Emilians against Bari at the Mapei Stadium ended their streak of 11 consecutive home victories, showing some relaxation knowing that promotion to Serie A is secured, but the desire to secure records motivates the team. In their own stadium, Sassuolo has accumulated 38 points in 15 matches played, averaging 2.53 points per game.
If the season were to end today, they would have broken the Serie B record for a 20-team league held by Filippo Inzaghi’s Benevento in 2019/20, who finished the season in the second tier with 86 points, 46 of which were earned at home at the Vigorito, with an average of 2.42 points per game. When including all Serie B tournaments from 1929 to the present, the only team that comes close to the neroverdi’s record is Torino in 2011/12 under Giampiero Ventura, with the granata earning 52 points in 21 matches at the Olimpico Stadium, averaging 2.48 points at home.
Overall, it’s a season to remember for the team led by Grosso, showcasing technical prowess but also not underestimating other teams in the league, especially at home where they have an impressive track record.

Palermo, for Le Douaron, a season of ups and downs – Football style

Palermo striker Jeremy Le Douaron was the market coup last summer for the Rosanero, but is experiencing an inconsistent season.
Palermo striker Jeremy Le Douaron, who was the market coup last summer, is experiencing a fluctuating season, especially after the arrival of Joel Pohjanpalo at Rosanero, he has been sidelined again after a temporary resurgence.
Palermo, Le Douaron sidelined, was the market coup last summer
For Palermo which is going through a very difficult moment this season, quite below expectations, there are many players who have not performed as expected. The Rosanero club had invested heavily in the last summer transfer market, with the Serie B market coup, namely the arrival in Sicily of Jeremy Le Douaron, the French striker born in 1998 who had led Brest to a historic qualification for the Champions League. However, this season things did not go as expected, to the point of being sidelined from the team.
Costing a whopping 4 million euros, Le Douaron immediately struggled to fit into the Rosanero group, so much so that he swung between the field and the bench: only in the 7th round did he get his first start. It was only towards the end of the year that he began to make an impact, with assists against Catanzaro and his first goal against Sassuolo, then he scored 3 more goals, and during this period he was always a starter alongside Brunori.
However, the winter market coup arrived at Rosanero, Joel Pohjanpalo from Venezia, whom coach Dionisi immediately fielded as a starter alongside Brunori, putting Le Douaron on the sidelines of the team. Since then, the Frenchman has only played 29 minutes on the field.
Another problem for the temporarily confirmed Alessio Dionisi, who is trying in every way to secure a spot in the promotion play-offs, so the Rosanero coach will need all the players who can make a difference, including Le Douaron himself, whose performance reflects the inconsistent season of the Rosanero.

Palermo casting is finished but no overturn: Dionisi remains

After the defeat against Cremonese, Palermo confirms Alessio Dionisi as the head coach. Despite the difficulties, he will still be the technical guide.
The latest news coming from Palermo seem to confirm that, despite the heavy home defeat against Cremonese, Alessio Dionisi will remain in charge of the team. As previously reported, internal consultations and meetings held by sports director Osti have not led to the choice of a replacement deemed suitable to improve the current situation.
The club, in fact, would like to engage a new coach only until the end of the season. Reflections will continue, but the path outlined is to continue with Dionisi and try to regroup ahead of the next match against Salernitana, after the break for national team fixtures. Barring any surprises, therefore, the former Sassuolo coach will lead the team in their return to training.
Tough Times for Palermo
It is a difficult time for the rosanero, who are coming off a tough defeat against Cremonese. After taking a 2-0 lead at home, they were overturned, losing 3-2 with three goals conceded in the last 20 minutes of the match. The team, which had not lost in 5 games, was heavily criticized by its fans, as well as its coach, with the club making several evaluations about his future.
The standings are not smiling on Palermo, who are now outside the playoff zone, albeit just one point away. The team will return to training on Wednesday, barring any surprises under Dionisi’s guidance, to prepare for the upcoming match against Salernitana.
