Regarding the possible candidacy of Del Piero for president of the FIGC, Francesco Totti, exclusively to Sportmediaset, gives his support to the former Juventus player.
Francesco Totti supports Alessandro Del Piero as a possible president of the FIGC. In an exclusive interview with Sportmediaset, during the World Legends Padel Tour currently taking place in Dubai, the former Roma icon sees the former Juventus player as a good fit for the top position at via Allegri.
FIGC, Totti’s Endorsement for Del Piero
Just like in the primaries of American and other political elections, even in the race for the presidency of the FIGC, an important endorsement arrives for Alessandro Del Piero as a possible candidate for FIGC president: that of Francesco Totti, who shared the World Cup triumph in 2006 in Germany with Pinturicchio.
In an exclusive interview with Sportmediaset during the ongoing World Legends Padel Tour in Dubai, the former Roma captain speaks of the former Juventus icon as a new face in the top management of Italian football:
“We all know that he is a significant figure, let’s see what happens. I am happy for him if he decides to take this important step. Of course, I would like people who understand football to be part of such relevant institutions. Alex can do it all because he is an important and clean figure. It will be up to him to decide, and we will wait. My vote is naturally there without taking anything away from who currently holds that position” he declared.
An important support from Totti, but Del Piero himself is a bit hesitant about his possible move to via Allegri:
“I didn’t wake up in the morning and decide to run, also because a candidacy needs to be proposed by someone. No one has asked me to take on this role, if you are not invited, you can’t just show up on your own. I am very happy where I am, I am an open and available person, I like to inform myself and stay updated. But such a situation should be considered with a different team spirit. I have been associated with one faction, against another, but I am not that kind of person. A man doesn’t change the dynamics, never, there must be a team. I don’t want to work against anyone, especially not in the FIGC” he stated in the Sky Sport studios.
However, the current president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, has announced his candidacy for re-election. Regarding his possible challenger Del Piero, the current head of the football federation has been cautious:
“I won’t go into details. Alex was a great champion, he gave a lot to world football and the Italian national team. I tried to involve him in the Federation, but his commitments have always taken him far away. But someone needs to propose you. And this also applies to him” he stated.

Juventus, with Conte you can (re)build your identity

Ecco tutti i possibili nomi coinvolti.
