The coach of Palermo Alessio Dionisi, in today’s usual press conference before the match with Spezia, discussed the Ligurian team but also the rosanero, with the Brunori case taking center stage.

serie b, Palermo Spezia parla Dionisi

Palermo, Dionisi: “I’m not crazy, those who deserve it and show it during the week play”

The coach of Palermo Alessio Dionisi, in today’s press conference before the match against Spezia for the 15th round of Serie B, talked about the game against the aquilotti but especially about the Brunori case, which is causing a stir among the rosanero fans.

Brunori Case

“I’m not crazy, those who deserve it and show it during the week play. This has always been a fundamental principle for me to be credible in a group. I ask the team from day one to push and not think about themselves, but to put the team first. And all this rightly should then lead to results. In these last games, the performances have been better, but they haven’t led to the results we deserved.”

Less effectiveness in the offensive phase

“Offensively, we have been less effective, but we have created, and that is a step forward because at the beginning we created less, but it’s not the step forward I would like or we want. It doesn’t matter what you have done, from anyone, mine or the players’. What matters is what we do. We need to start from what we have done and improve it through more effectiveness in front of goal. Again, for me, everything comes from training, then the response is in the game. The coach has to make choices, and I am responsible for them, but I always have to start from what I see during the week. Even though I can’t play everyone.”

Doubts in the lineup

“I have three or four doubts in the lineup. Gomes deserves to play all the time, but it’s understandable that the coach makes a choice. I have no preconceptions about anyone. From the beginning until now, many players have made mistakes, in training, in attitude, or after the game. These wrong attitudes are emphasized by me and the executives with a view to improvement.”

I make the lineup based on concrete facts

“Those who have made mistakes have then played because they understood they were wrong. So I want to emphasize that I don’t close the door to anyone, especially not to important players. I don’t make the lineup based on resumes, but on what I see. Gomes surprised me, I am very happy with his growth that I expected, and I don’t rule out that he could return to the field. He can play alongside Ranocchia.”

D’Angelo, an old acquaintance

“I know D’Angelo well, we have been opponents in the past, and I respect him. His assistant was a former teammate of mine at Fiorentina. There is a history between us, and I thank him for the compliments. We face a team that is surprising because they have values. They have intensity, aggression, win duels. They are dangerous on set pieces, the numbers explain it well. They have not lost in the league yet and have won more than 50% of the games they have played.”

Spezia, a team to be respected

“We face a team to be respected, but only to a certain extent. It’s time to beat a big team. Spezia, at this moment, is performing better than us. Everyone goes their own way, and I don’t change ours. I am satisfied with the path in terms of performances, clearly not with the results. We need to achieve results through performances, and the time has come. With Samp, we did everything but not the best.”

For the 22nd round of Serie B, Cremonese and Cosenza will also take the field at the Zini stadium. The match will be played tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Below is the preview of the match, the probable lineups, and where to watch it.

Cremonese and Cosenza are experiencing diametrically opposed situations, facing each other tomorrow for a match that both teams must win.

The grigiorossi, in the last few rounds, have reduced the gap from the third place, currently held by Spezia, to six points. Stroppa’s men want to continue their push towards direct promotion.

A different situation for the Calabrians, who are certainly not going through a good moment, being at the bottom of the table and with three defeats in the last five matches.

Cremonese is on a high after the 3-0 win against Frosinone and aims for three points against a struggling Cosenza.

Stroppa, after two assists in Ciociaria, will likely start Vandeputte in midfield and the duo of Bonazzoli and Vazquez up front.

The defense remains the same, with Ceccherini, Antov, and Bianchetti in front of Fulignati.

In Cremona, they will also chase a much-needed victory after missing out against Sassuolo and Mantova.

Alvini would be at risk in case of a negative result, and he cannot ignore fielding an offensive lineup, where Artistico and Rizzo Pinna should feature up front, assisted by Mazzocchi.

Four midfielders, namely Ricciardi, Charlys, Florenzi, and D’Orazio in front of a defense consisting of Venturi, Sgarbi, and Caporale. Micai will be in goal.

Probable Lineups

Cremonese (3-5-2): Fulignati, Bianchetti, Antov, Ceccherini; Collocolo, Pickel, Castagnetti, Vandeputte, Barbieri; Vazquez, Bonazzoli. Coach: Giovanni Stroppa

Cosenza (3-4-1-2): Micai; Venturi, Sgarbi, Caporale; Ricciardi, Charlys, Florenzi, D’Orazio; Mazzocchi, Rizzo Pinna; Artistico. Coach: Massimiliano Alvini.

Where to Watch

Cremonese-Cosenza, scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 PM, will be available on the Dazn app and on the LaB Channel channel, an option active for a few weeks on Amazon Prime.
