On the eve of the match against Juventus, Lecce coach Marco Giampaolo held a press conference to preview the game.

Below is an excerpt of the words of the Lecce coach ahead of the clash against Juventus, scheduled for tomorrow evening at 8:45 PM.

Lecce, Giampaolo’s words

The coach began by highlighting the team’s progress: “We have continued on the same path as the first week. I have had them all available from the start and we are carrying out a certain type of work, building one brick at a time. There is still a lot to do.”

On Juventus’ absences: “It is a strong team. The absences reduce the possibilities of rotation, but it remains a team with important numbers, that works well and has clear ideas. The absences do not affect me: Juventus will field a competitive eleven, with 3-4 changes of great quality. It is a team with strong self-esteem, has the highest percentage of balls played and a very high number of passes. It knows what it wants and can tire you out with possession. That’s why Lecce will have to do more in possession, because without possession you suffer.”

About the possibility of reverting to a three-man defense, he explained: “It was a choice related to the context. I knew that Venezia could have put us in difficulty in a certain way, so that decision was aimed at that match. Tomorrow I want to propose a good Lecce.”

When asked about the competition between Kaba and Helgason, he brushed it off: “Tomorrow we play with 16. Who starts or comes on doesn’t matter much: what matters is the quality with which you do things. The five substitutions can make a difference, but it depends on how we play. In the last match, those who came off the bench did well.”

“Some concepts are getting through. I like a musical team, in tune. Some notes have been received. The boys like to do certain things, but we must remain focused. We need to work and the results must support us in this process.”

“They will both play. One will start and the other will come on. Krstovic is generous, while Ante has been perfect so far, always giving his best.”

“He is doing well. We have many wingers: Morente, Pierotti, Dorgu, Sansone, Oudin. Two play and three remain out.”

“Sometimes there are special seasons, with many variables. You always have to aim for performance: eight times out of ten it leads to results. The stadium can make a difference and must be an asset. We are seventh in Italy for number of season ticket holders, which shows how much passion there is around the team.”

The Fiorentina has just released a statement regarding the situation at the Franchi stadium. Following the announcement from the Municipality of Florence, the club has issued a response.

New developments on the construction site at the Franchi stadium after the Municipality announced further delays and that the works will not be completed in time for the club’s centenary.

Fiorentina, Franchi Stadium: The Club’s Statement

ACF Fiorentina, in response to today’s statement from the Municipality of Florence regarding the Franchi Stadium, clarifies that the Municipality has provided information in recent days regarding the progress of the works and the delays that are already expected by the end of 2026.

The Club can only express discontent and surprise considering the cooperation always shown, such as leaving the stadium free from the end of May to mid-September this year.

Further possible activities for the second part of the works have also been outlined, which at the moment could still involve several months away from the Franchi. Scenarios that can only generate concern and disappointment. In light of the latest information provided, as already communicated to the Municipality, the conditions for any involvement of Fiorentina in the project will need to be re-evaluated.

There is still great regret for not having been able to complete the New Franchi with previous interlocutors, which in 2019, President Commisso wanted to realize at his own expense, only to realize that this was never allowed.

The Franchi Stadium, already a construction site since February 2024, will remain so with all the economic and sporting difficulties that follow, certainly throughout the 2026/27 season, the year of the centenary.
