Legal troubles for 777 Partners and A-Cap in Genoa

Published

Genoa

After the challenge of the first round, drawn at the last second, it’s time for Roma-Genoa. A match marked by Dovbyk.

Genoa, September 15, 2024. Roma is in the lead, but then at 96′, they are snatched at the last moment by Koni De Winter, who scores the equalizer.

Today, in Roma-Genoa, the Giallorossi take the field renewed compared to last fall, with a new coach and all the intentions of bringing home the crucial 3 points.

Genoa has also changed a lot, just like their opponent, changing coaches from Gilardino to Vieira, and they are just one point behind Roma in the standings (23 points).

Let’s experience together the emotions of this match, which means a lot to both teams on the field.

Roma-Genoa, the first half

The first ball belongs to Roma, to Artem Dovbyk. Just two minutes into the game, Roma finds their first opportunity with Saelemaekers, who goes too wide.

The ball remains in Roma’s possession as they try to build from the back with Hummels but then it ends up in Genoa’s hands.

The first foul of the game, at 6′, involves Koné. Shortly after, Dovbyk goes down.

At 8′, Frendrup fouls Paulo Dybala: Roma earns the first free kick of the match. The Argentine takes a sumptuous shot that hits the crossbar.

At 14′, Angelino and Dovbyk try to create a goal-scoring opportunity, but the ball ends up in the possession of the Rossoblu.

Roma earns a corner: Paredes is ready to take it, but the ball ends up in the hands of the Genoa goalkeeper.

The first yellow card of the match goes to Vasquez for a tactical foul on Mancini at 18′. Free kick for Roma.

At 21′, a very dangerous shot by Hummels hits the crossbar.

At 24′, Genoa comes alive, until they lose the ball to Roma. And it’s here that Dovbyk takes a shot straight into the goal and scores the first goal of the match! It’s 1-0.

Genoa tries to regain possession, but several mistakes often return the ball to the Giallorossi.

At 29′, Bani is down. At 31′, he leaves the field due to a suspected injury. At 32′, he is replaced by Sabelli.

At 32′, on the free kick taken by Moretti, Masini scores the equalizer.

The game changes pace, Roma appears more weakened. At 36′, it’s possession for the Rossoblu, with Pinamonti going down and being assisted by the medical staff.

At 40′, chaos ensues: Pellegrini and Zanoli are down. The Roma captain temporarily leaves the field.

At 43′, Genoa believes, but the ball is saved by Paredes and returned to Roma.

At 45′, a foul on Dybala gives the home team a new free kick, to be taken by Paredes, saved by the goalkeeper and then followed up by the Argentine.

There are two minutes of added time, but they don’t change the situation, fixed at 1-1.

This was a first half devoid of great emotions, in which both teams tried to maintain or gain possession of the ball and build vertically. A substitution for Vieira, none for Ranieri.

The second half

The second half starts with a Roma substitution: Pellegrini out, El Shaarawy in.

A foul on Dybala earns a free kick, taken by Paredes, which goes far and is intercepted by the Rossoblu.

At 53′, the game becomes tight, with both teams intent on winning throw-ins and gaining ground.

At 54′, Genoa gets a free kick which is almost turned into a counterattack by El Shaarawy.

Thanks to Saelemaekers, at 56′, Roma earns a corner. Dybala takes the kick and the action is interrupted shortly after because Sabelli goes down: Paredes is booked for an elbow.

A handball penalty is not called: the entire Olimpico stadium whistles. Shortly after, El Shaarawy ignites the Curva Sud by scoring the second Giallorossi goal.

At 62′, there is a golden opportunity for Roma, but Dovbyk can’t reach a ball that is just too long.

At 65′, Genoa fails to capitalize on a corner opportunity, with a shot by Masini going high over the goal.

Thorsby exits and Ekhator enters, Zanoli exits and Venturino enters.

At 72′, the penalty for El Shaarawy in the penalty area is not called and the Olimpico protests again. Shortly after, an own goal by Leali brings the score to 3-1!

Two substitutions for Roma: Saelemaekers and Hummels out, Celik and Pisilli in.

At 81′, after several minutes of fruitless passes, Roma manages to defend their goal and run into the opponent’s half, where Pisilli misses what would have been a beautiful goal.

At this point in the match, a graphic shows that Masini, with over 11 km covered, is the player who has run the most: among the top 6, only Koné is from Roma.

Important substitutions for Roma: Dybala and Dovbyk out, Soulé and Shomurodov in. Meanwhile,

For Genoa, Moretti exits and Kasa enters.

The Giallorossi Uzbek makes himself known at 87′, where he attempts a precise but weak shot that ends up in Leali’s hands.

There are 4 minutes of added time: Roma must defend their substantial lead at all costs.

At 93′, Soulé almost scores the 4-1 goal.

Then the final whistle blows and the curtain falls on Roma’s triumph.
