The former midfielder of Juventus, now head of the competition for Italy, talks about the news of the tournament and his view on the current performance of the Old Lady.
Today Turin transforms into the capital of the Kings League, with Claudio Marchisio at the center stage as the protagonist of the Italian draft. The former midfielder of Juventus, now in charge of the competition for Italy, not only explained the details of the competition, but also answered questions from the attending journalists, providing interesting insights on the current state of his beloved team, Juventus. Here are his words.
Juventus, Marchisio’s words
What can you tell us about this event in such an important location?
“I have been to many evenings at the Teatro Regio, I am glad that there are many young people here tonight who may have never been here before. They are here to see us, but they will also see a fantastic place like this. It is an important moment for us, I am curious to see the draft. I talked a little with all the presidents, I am curious to see what strategies they will use. Then here in Turin we will also have the final of the Kings League World Cup”.
How does this draft work?
“It is identical to the NBA draft, surely the top picks will be the most talented players. As it goes down, it will be different, but the first picks will be the most interesting so stay focused from the beginning”.
Turning to Serie A, is this still the championship of the seven sisters?
“I confirm this feeling, the teams at the top are very close. But I am convinced that from January 2-3 teams will pull away. In this phase, Juventus has some very important absences, there will also be the transfer market involved, and we will have to see who will try to strengthen their squad. Someone will definitely have to do it”.
Is Vlahovic the right man for this Juventus? Does he need a hand?
“These are choices of the club, of the coach. I hope he does not have any further physical problems. Juventus needs him also in terms of numbers because Milik has not returned yet and there are no other center forwards. Apart from the things said about Juve’s style of play, not having the center forward makes a difference and I hope he can be available as soon as possible because Juventus will have many home games and a player like him is essential”.

What do you think of Koopmeiners’ current form?
“It’s an adaptation period for him, not just in terms of position. It’s a total change both in playing style and in a role different from what he had at Atalanta. It is worth mentioning that he had a rather specific injury to the ribs. I hope he can find the way to goal especially because I believe in some performances it can weigh”.
Are there any Kings League rules that you would bring to eleven-a-side football?
“We will see over time, there are many things that can change the outcome of a match with the cards. I know that in the youth sectors some Kings League rules are already being used with young players. So, something is already shifting”.
Which are the ideal seven Serie A players you would see fit in your Kings League team?
“You have to think carefully, seven-a-side football is different from eleven-a-side and requires players very skilled in one-on-one situations. I’ll give you three: Douglas Costa, Andrea Pirlo, and Andres Iniesta”.

Milan, good news from Nkunku: the Frenchman returns to the group

Fiorentina, Franchi Stadium: The Club’s Statement
ACF Fiorentina, in response to today’s statement from the Municipality of Florence regarding the Franchi Stadium, clarifies that the Municipality has provided information in recent days regarding the progress of the works and the delays that are already expected by the end of 2026.
The Club can only express discontent and surprise considering the cooperation always shown, such as leaving the stadium free from the end of May to mid-September this year.
Further possible activities for the second part of the works have also been outlined, which at the moment could still involve several months away from the Franchi. Scenarios that can only generate concern and disappointment. In light of the latest information provided, as already communicated to the Municipality, the conditions for any involvement of Fiorentina in the project will need to be re-evaluated.
There is still great regret for not having been able to complete the New Franchi with previous interlocutors, which in 2019, President Commisso wanted to realize at his own expense, only to realize that this was never allowed.
The Franchi Stadium, already a construction site since February 2024, will remain so with all the economic and sporting difficulties that follow, certainly throughout the 2026/27 season, the year of the centenary.
