Former Roma player, now a technical collaborator for Como, spoke about the challenge and the most beautiful moments from the past in the Giallorossi shirt.
Today Como and Roma will face each other in the sixteenth round of Serie A twenty-one years after the last time. A match that has special historical references for both teams.
During the Giallorossi podcast “Serie A Preview,” Marco Cassetti, former Roma player from 2006 to 2012, now a technical collaborator for Como (where he ended his playing career in 2016), talked about this game.
“Survival would be an important achievement”
“Last year we had a great season, achieving promotion after a long time. This season we started so-so. We made a few too many mistakes but we are trying to minimize them.”
“Fabregas’ philosophy is clear”
“Como always wants to try and control the game regardless of the opponent they are facing. Results can change the perception of what is being done, but we continue with this idea. We need 2/3 consecutive positive results to regain confidence.”

“The goal in the derby? I am pleased to be remembered for something so important”
“For the fans and the city, it was something unforgettable. We were a team that maintained a well-consolidated structure over the years. We achieved a lot of satisfactions, and maybe we deserved a few more. We played good football and that led us to be remembered with great pleasure.”

“Roma is regaining confidence”
“The Giallorossi started the season with many ups and downs, but now Ranieri has arrived with his experience: he is a coach who cares about the team. Positive results can bring enthusiasm for the upcoming games. Roma has invested heavily by bringing in players like Dovbyk, Soulé, Konè, and Hummels. The core group can help the new ones.”
“Nico Paz is doing very well”
“Between Como and Roma, I expect a tough match: we need points while Roma wants to climb the standings. Nico Paz? He’s doing well but not resting on his laurels. He has a lot of work to do even though he starts from a very good base, and he is repaying our trust.”

No good news for Cagliari of Pisacane, who is coming off a home defeat against Bologna: injury for a defender.
The Sardinians are preparing for the next league challenge against Hellas Verona. However, the coach must deal with physical problems affecting a key player for him: Yerry Mina. The Colombian suffered an injury in the match against Bologna in the last round and is now working separately to recover. His condition will be evaluated ahead of the next league match.

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
