Felipe Caicedo: “Without Covid, we would have won the league title”

On the eve of Lazio-Inter, a recent former player of both teams spoke, Felipe Caicedo: “I can only speak well of Inzaghi. He remains number one.”

Caicedo was a symbol of Simone Inzaghi’s experience as coach of Lazio, so much so that he decided to bring him to Milan as well. His repeated goals in the 90th minute brought joy to many Lazio fans, who will always have a positive memory of him. On the eve of Lazio-Inter , he was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport and spoke of his admiration for the coach and his golden period in the capital.

Caicedo’s words

The Ecuadorian striker opened his interview praising his mutual affectionate relationship with Simone Inzaghi: “I can only speak well of Inzaghi. He was fundamental because he always trusted me and believed in me, in fact he even called me to Inter. Things didn’t go as I had hoped there, but he remains number one. I was also important for his Lazio, with all those goals in the ninetieth minute that made me a favorite of the fans.”

Finally, he recalled some beautiful moments experienced in the white and blue shirt and spoke of the biggest regret of those seasons: “If I close my eyes, I remember Cagliari-Lazio, Sassuolo-Lazio and that year when everything seemed possible: without Covid we would have won the league title. I am very attached to him, his staff, and I have respect for Inter, but my heart says Lazio. It will be a balanced match, the Olimpico will be full.”
