Fiorentina remains among the top eight in the Conference League with a late draw thanks to a goal from Mandragora.
If the Fiorentina fan was expecting a response from Fiorentina after the defeat in Bologna, they were disappointed. In Portugal, one of the worst performances of this early stage of the season was seen: a slow, clumsy, and at times unwatchable team.
Vitoria took a deserved lead in the 33rd minute with Gustavo Silva, and only a long series of errors from the Portuguese forwards kept Fiorentina in the game until the end when Mandragora found the equalizer in the 87th minute.
With this draw, Fiorentina is among the top eight in the Conference League and will await the outcome of the playoffs to know their opponent in the round of 16 of the competition.
Vitoria Guimaraes-Fiorentina, Fiorentina player ratings
TERRACCIANO 5.5 – Could he have done more on the goal? Perhaps. Doesn’t seem very reactive in other saves either.
DODÒ 6 – A tough game for Fiorentina, he tries to attack in the first half, but doesn’t find the right support in Ikoné. The equalizing goal comes from his action.
COMUZZO 5 – Perhaps his first bad night of the season, makes several mistakes in his exits. The Portuguese goal comes from one of his mistakes.
Subbed in 1st half: RANIERI 6 – More precise and attentive than his teammate.
QUARTA 5.5 – Generous, but too many errors in his exits. A horror back pass at the end of the first half. Better defensively tonight than in build-up.
PARISI 5.5 – Shows desire, pace, but like Dodò, doesn’t find the right support in Beltran.
Subbed in 2nd half at 29′: GOSENS n/a
MANDRAGORA 6 – Deserves credit for being timely with the goal, but little else.
RICHARDSON 5 – Slow, clumsy, and disoriented: much like the entire Fiorentina team on this night.
Subbed in 1st half: ADLI 6 – Doesn’t do anything spectacular, but raises the level of the Fiorentina midfield.
IKONÈ 4.5 – Inadequate. Another game marked by continuous mistakes. It might be time to say goodbye…
Subbed in 2nd half at 11′: COLPANI 5.5 – Barely noticeable… Much more is expected from him…
GUDMUNDSSON 5.5 – Roams around the Fiorentina attacking phase, acts as an attacking playmaker, but never really threatens.
Subbed in 2nd half at 11′: KEAN 5.5 – Has a great chance on Beltran’s assist, but shoots straight at the goalkeeper. Adds weight in attack.
BELTRAN 5.5 – Confused. Palladino asks him to play as the left winger. He tries, but is out of his element, except for a beautiful ball served to Kean.
KOUAMÈ 5 – Generous, eager but completely lacks a sense of goal. And for a forward, that’s (almost) everything.

Napoli, Di Lorenzo after the defeat: “We need a dose of humility”

PSV-Napoli 6-2, Azzurri shipwreck in Eindhoven: initial lead by McTominay, then Dutch avalanche
The challenge of the 3rd day of the Champions League group stage PSV-Napoli ends 6-2, a resounding defeat for the team of Antonio Conte, who took the lead but then suffered the Dutch avalanche, which overwhelmed them. A really bad night in Eindhoven, with much to reflect on.
First initiative of Napoli, in the 2nd minute with Lucca, but the shot goes wide. Then it’s De Bruyne‘s turn, but the Dutch defense saves. Then PSV tries with Man, Milinkovic is ready. Again Man in the 19th minute tries to worry the Azzurri goalkeeper, who saves. At the 28th minute, Spinazzola tries for Napoli, a shot that just misses the target. But at the 31st minute Napoli takes the lead: Spinazzola crosses from the left and McTominay heads in to beat Kovar, 1-0 for Conte’s team. After 4 minutes, PSV equalizes: on a PSV action, Buongiorno tries to anticipate Til but his intervention beats Milinkovc-Savic, back to level. Then, at the 39th minute, the Dutch take the lead: Saibari heads towards the Azzurri area, and with a shot beats Milinkovic-Savic, the 2-1 scoreline going into halftime.
The second half starts with Napoli being dangerous with Lucca and Anguissa, but in the 54th minute, PSV scores again: Mauro Junior crosses for Man, who deflects it in to beat Milinkovic-Savic, making it 3-1. However, PSV doesn’t stop, Napoli’s defense does what it can against the Dutch attack, and in the 76th minute Lucca is also sent off. In the 80th minute, the fourth goal for PSV: Man scores again, with an unstoppable shot for Milinkovic-Savic. Then, in the 86th minute, Napoli reduces the gap with McTominay, the only one who shines on this bad night, with a precise header into the net. But PSV closes the deal in the 86th and 87th minute, with Pepi and Driouech. Then the final whistle that ends the hostilities with a 6-2 victory for the Dutch.
The man of the match is undoubtedly Man, with a personal brace and a great game overall, like the entire PSV attack that literally overwhelmed Napoli at the Philips Stadium tonight.
