Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, spoke to DAZN, Sky, and in a press conference after the victory over Como.
‘Inter beats Como (2-0) at San Siro and holds on to the third position in the standings. With three points behind the leader Atalanta, one behind second-placed Napoli, and a game in hand (against Fiorentina), Simone Inzaghi’s team remains in the fight for the title.
Inter, Inzaghi’s words
The coach from Piacenza spoke to Sky microphones at the end of the match against Como.
Como
“I congratulate them. They played a great game at San Siro, but they faced a highly focused Inter team that gave away very little. In the first half, we weren’t at our best, the pitch penalized us because it wasn’t perfect tonight as it has been other times: although I know they will fix it now. We played a mature, aware match against an opponent who ran a lot, and we knew that by accelerating in the second half, we could change the game“.
Thuram
“He worked well, along with his teammates, me, and the entire staff. He is a player who trains very well, who has adapted immediately to our principles. He knows he needs to continue to improve, he is giving us a lot at the moment and must keep doing so“.
Frattesi
“In Inter, like in many other teams, there is competition. Thursday he and Zielinski played ninety minutes and did very well, then choices need to be made for the good of Inter. He and Taremi did six minutes well today, doing what I asked of them. I have to alternate all the players, they are playing a lot and we shouldn’t think about standings or tables“.
Lautaro
”It’s a moment, I have been a striker and I know there have been these moments. Monday in Rome he was one of the most positive, then of course he wants to score goals but they need to continue like this. Both he and Thuram work as we ask them to. We ask a lot of them and we are trying to rotate them to give them as much rest as possible, on Thursday Arnautovic and Taremi did the same job. I told him to stay calm, it’s just a phase. Last year when he shot, he scored, now he’s not very lucky but he should worry if he wasn’t creating chances and tonight he had them“.
Calendar
“We are trying to rotate the players, we know we will have the World Cup and despite this, we have had a few little problems. De Vrij didn’t train much, but tonight he grit his teeth and helped us. The goal is to get everyone in good shape for rotations, while Bastoni, Carlos Augusto, and Dimarco are playing a lot“.
In the press conference.
Championship
“There is a very high score being maintained, but I said it would be an open championship. They are all winning and there are teams like Como, who came to play a great game at San Siro“.
Fabregas
“I spoke to him before the game, I congratulated him and told him to continue like this. Today they came to play a great game in our home, he is a coach with excellent prospects”.
Still Lautaro?
“Not worried. In the last 10 games, we have won 8, we are doing very well. I congratulated Lautaro after Lazio, I haven’t watched the game again today but if we win, it’s fine. It might be a problem for him, but the fans and teammates are with him and the goal will come soon. He needs to stay calm“.
Defense
“We started in one way, then changed the setup a bit. Bastoni hadn’t played as a center-back for years. At this moment when we have a few absences, we need everyone, including De Vrij who wasn’t 100% today but helped us in the last 20-25 minutes”.
To the club’s official channels.
Performance
“We won as a mature team, in the first half we were slow to move the ball and Como caused us some difficulties. We took few risks and scored at the right moment. In the second half, we were quicker in moving the ball, we knew we would find more opportunities“.
Match
“These teams are dangerous and organized, Como came to San Siro to play proactively. We didn’t concede at the back and were clinical up front. We won an important match“.
More about defense
“We had some absences, like Pavard and Acerbi. Then Darmian joined, De Vrij also had some issues but today he made himself available. We need to try to recover those who are out because at the moment we have some numerical problems“.

Milan, Modric: “A big shame, we threw away 2 points”

AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric commented on the bitter 2-2 draw against Pisa in a press conference.

Milan, Modric’s words
MILAN-PISA 2-2
“We expected this match, they came to defend and make our lives difficult. It’s our fault if we didn’t win: we didn’t do enough to win the game. We lost two important points today. These home games, with all due respect to Pisa, you have to win them.”
TIGHT MARKING?
“It’s fair, I have to adapt. We need to play better overall: we did some good things, created many chances but didn’t score. But I have to adapt for the rest.”
APPROACH
“We should have killed the game in the first half. We played well, but only scored one goal. We started the second half sluggishly, then there was the unfortunate penalty and goal. But that’s football, that’s why it’s beautiful: even if you’re stronger and deserve to win, anything can happen. We are sad and angry for losing two valuable points.”

We made mistakes, we need to reflect. However, Pisa played their game

AC Milan waste a great opportunity to consolidate their lead: from 1-0 to 1-2, they need the final minutes to avoid a sensational defeat. The risk of losing the top spot for Milan is now concrete.
It was supposed to be a quiet evening for the Rossoneri, an opportunity to strengthen their first place in the standings and face the midweek round with serenity. Instead, against a brave Pisa, the Rossoneri complicate their lives and have to thank Athekame, the author of the 2-2 in injury time, for avoiding an embarrassing loss.
AC Milan-Pisa 2-2: match analysis
The match started off on the right foot thanks to Leao’s goal after just seven minutes. But Allegri’s team, instead of closing the game, relaxed, showing presumption and lacking ruthlessness in front of goal. In the first half, Milan controlled but did not score, and Pisa stayed in the game.

In the second half, Gilardino played his trump card: Cuadrado’s entry changed everything. The Colombian won and scored the penalty for 1-1, his eighth goal in career against the Rossoneri, then inspired the counterattack that led Nzola to the sensational 2-1. Milan, confused and lacking clarity, tried to react, with Leao hitting the crossbar, Nkunku wasting a possible lead.
Only in injury time did the equalizer come, signed by Athekame, avoiding a heavy defeat but not erasing the bitterness. Perhaps the Rossoneri paid for their lack of respect for the opponent, just as Allegri had warned before the start of the match.
A necessary reality check, because on Tuesday in Bergamo Milan risks not showing up as the league leaders.

Crazy night at San Siro: Pisa almost pulls off the upset, Rossoneri saved in stoppage time
