Inter player Marcus Thuram has given an interview to La Gazzetta Dello Sport about his experience at Inter Milan.

The former Borussia Moenchengladbach player currently playing for Inter under coach Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts with La Gazzetta Dello Sport on various topics related to his time at the Milanese club and beyond.

Below are the statements made by Inter player Marcus Thuram to La Gazzetta Dello Sport:

Is this the peak of your career?

“Yes. At Inter, I have total confidence. And it’s thanks to those around me: teammates, coach, club”.

Where do you want to go and what can you achieve?

“I don’t know. And I don’t think about it, it almost annoys me. What matters is to love, not to limit yourself. Why say ‘I’ll score this many goals’? I still have a lot to improve”.

In what areas? Give an example.

“In heading, for example. And in trying to be faster than I currently am. I already feel stronger than at the start of the season. And in January, I’ll be even better.

Today, for example, I anticipate a pass from Dimarco because I already know what he’ll do. The same with Mkhi. It’s knowledge, experience”.

Have you and your brother Khephren bet on who will win more trophies this year?
“There was a chance to play together, when I was at Borussia Monchengladbach, Nice wanted me but nothing came of it. No, no bet with him. I wish him the best. Not the absolute best… Let’s say yes to him, no to the team he plays for”.

Is he really stronger than you?

“Yes, he is. And do you know why? Because he can learn from dad and then from his brother, he’s lucky”.

You are a fan of manga. Who do you see yourself in?
“My favorite is Dragon Ball Z, the character is Super Saiyan 4: I adore him, he’s fast, powerful. And then Captain Tsubasa (in Italy Holly and Benji, note): I rooted for Mark Lenders, he was born a winger and then became a striker, like me”.

What kind of captain is Lautaro?
“He speaks when necessary. He never speaks without reason”.

You are very different. How did you click?
“Precisely because of our differences. If he were like me, I’d tell him ‘oh, you’re so annoying’. I bring something he doesn’t have and vice versa”.

Do you have a relationship outside the field?
“Well, he’s married… When we are apart, on national duty, we call each other. Maybe because we miss each other… before games, after, always”.

Let’s talk about your idol, Adriano. How does it feel to see him today?
“I read that he feels happy in his favela, I see him smiling on Instagram: that’s what matters”.

You have a release clause of 85 million, you could decide to leave without going through Inter…
“But the amount is high…”.

If you continue like this, someone will pay it.
“I say it clearly: it will never happen that I leave Inter exploiting the clause, because of the relationship I have here with everyone. That figure is there, but I will never be the only one to decide. And if something happens, there will always be a discussion with the club”.

Is it true that the Champions League is your obsession?

“I can’t choose, I have the goal of winning all 5 trophies. If I focus everything on the Champions League and then don’t win it, what happens?”.

How many of these 5 trophies would you sign for?
“One would be enough for me. But I won’t say which one, who knows, maybe it’s the Coppa Italia (laughs)”.

Is Inter part of Europe’s elite?
“Yes. I consider Inter one of the superpowers of Europe. We are a team that instills fear. I don’t see any clubs superior to us, not one. There are 5-6 in the Champions League stronger than the rest. And we are among them”.

Any advice from Inzaghi that you haven’t followed yet?
“I try to do everything… And I don’t know how, but every time he suggests something, it happens”.

Do you know that Simone scored 4 goals in a single Champions League match?
“I didn’t know that. I don’t think I’ll do it, also because after two goals he takes me out (laughs)”.

Where do you see yourself in 15 years?
“I’d like to do what Thierry Henry does, with CBS. I would like to work for an American TV, it’s a more relaxed type of commentary, here in Italy or France we all take ourselves too seriously. And in any case, I would like to live in the States”.

You have something of Henry on the field, don’t you?
“No… He was on another level. I often talk to him, it’s easier to talk to him than to my father. One day he told me that in Italy they made him play as the fifth midfielder, how is that possible? It always depends on where you are in life”.

Lazio, good news: Rovella shortens recovery time

Good news for the unlucky Lazio of Maurizio Sarri: Nicolò Rovella is recovering optimally from pubalgia – early return anticipated?

The Lazio coach can finally smile. One of his most important players, Rovella, is showing great improvements. The midfielder is recovering from pubalgia by choosing to undergo conservative therapy rather than surgery, which would have kept him out for a longer period. So far, his choice seems to be paying off: his physical condition is significantly improving.

When will Rovella return to Lazio?

If things continue in this way, Nicolò Rovella could return to the field even before the November break. Initially, his reintroduction was scheduled for the middle of next month, but given the improvement in the situation, an early recovery is now likely. Of course, the midfielder will not be available for the match against Juventus in the next Serie A round, but he will be evaluated for the subsequent matches.

No good news for Cagliari of Pisacane, who is coming off a home defeat against Bologna: injury for a defender.

The Sardinians are preparing for the next league challenge against Hellas Verona. However, the coach must deal with physical problems affecting a key player for him: Yerry Mina. The Colombian suffered an injury in the match against Bologna in the last round and is now working separately to recover. His condition will be evaluated ahead of the next league match.

Cagliari, the club’s statement

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.

The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
