Despite the upcoming European commitment, Roma continues to work for the next season. Among the candidates for the bench is Francesco Farioli.

The Roma is already planning for the future. The hope of securing a European placement this season is still alive, but the objective is clear: to return as a protagonist from the next season onwards. Claudio Ranieri, even though focused on the upcoming matches that will see the Giallorossi engaged every three days in Serie A and the Europa League, is working with the management to identify his successor.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the profiles carefully evaluated by the Roman club is that of Francesco Farioli, current coach of Ajax, who has had contacts with the technical area manager Florent Ghisolfi and with Ranieri himself.

Roma, the Farioli option: positive contacts

According to rumors, the discussions with Farioli were of an introductory nature. For Ghisolfi, the Italian coach is not new, as he worked with him last season at Nice, where it was the Roma executive who brought him to France. The talks were also judged positively by Ranieri, who appreciated the ideas of the current Ajax coach.

Farioli, tied to the Dutch club by a contract until 2027, is making a name for himself for his results in the Eredivisie, where Ajax is currently only one point behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven.

The relationship between Farioli and Ghisolfi, although characterized by some differences during their time at Nice, remains strong and could facilitate a potential negotiation.

The final evaluations will still take time, but the name of Farioli remains hot among those who could inherit Ranieri’s legacy and lead Roma towards a new ambitious cycle.
