AC Milan captain will not be fined by the club, but will still not take part in the trip to Zagreb due to suspension.

The Milan has made a decision, and after the heated clash with the Portuguese coach, the captain will not be sanctioned. The Rossoneri’s number 2 will not be part of the trip to Croatia due to suspension. In a way, the player seemed to have sought the suspension, as he was aware of the caution in the last Champions League match and purposefully received a yellow card for dissent.

However, the sanction has put Milan in a tough spot, as in tomorrow’s match the team will also have to do without Emerson (injured) and new arrival Kyle Walker (ineligible due to UEFA regulations). So, Conceicao will have to adapt either Tomori or Musah in that position, or start with Terracciano.

Milan overlooks face-off with coach

The Portuguese coach and the player were involved in a verbal clash at the end of Sunday’s thrilling match. The argument arose after the substitution with the full-back who did not take the change lightly. On that occasion, he kicked a water bottle that hit the coach, who at the time was focused on the game and decided to overlook it.

At the end of the match (and the comeback), however, Conceicao approached the player quite nervously about what had happened, demanding respect for decisions and for the rest of the team. Neither of them backed down, and the cameras captured the discussion, with staff members having to intervene to separate them.

The Rossoneri captain downplayed the incident in the post-match interview, categorizing it as on-field events, but the feeling hinted at a club sanction, which, however, did not occur. The relationship with the coach seems strained, and it is not excluded that the winger may leave Milan in the summer.
