Atalanta’s Anxiety at Home: Lookman Injury, Could Face a Month on the Sidelines

Atalanta, come sopperire all’assenza di Lookman?

Troubles for Conte, Napoli has too many injuries and little determination

Napoli collapses in Turin, but the real problem seems to be the overcrowded infirmary and the lack of effectiveness in various areas, plus a weak defense
We return to play after the National team break and Napoli fails to impress. The performance of coach Conte’s team does not shine, as evidenced by the disappointing result (a 1-0 defeat against Torino).
What is most concerning is the lack of consistency in midfield – with imprecise and predictable passes – easily intercepted by the three Granata central defenders, leading to defeat.
In addition, it must be noted, for the record, a certain lack of incisiveness in attack and a defense that has conceded too much (the home team had never scored – until now – in a home game).
In short, too many mistakes and it is beginning to be foreseen – for Napoli – a certain inability to manage the entire duration of the game: in fact, the Campania team is not new to a subdued first half, but (compared to previous matches against Genoa, Cagliari, and Pisa) this time they failed miserably in the second half in Turin.
Points lost that weigh heavily; now tied with Inter at an uncomfortable first place by three points, which could affect the continuation of the championship.

Napoli struggles, too many injuries and constant changes do not help the game, but there is more
Indeed, after Roma‘s defeat – precisely at the hands of Inter – Serie A had a shake-up at the top with all three teams tied at 15 points.
Of course, absences had a certain impact on the course of the game: missing McTominay and Hojlund, and in addition, the absences of Lobotka and Rrahamani. While Buongiorno and Politano had returned, they were brought in – towards the end of the game – to avoid unpleasant setbacks.
Conte had already spoken about the numerous injuries in European clubs and, judging by his statistics, he was right: in fact, Napoli is the Italian team – by far – with the most muscular problems. All this considering that matches will resume every three days, and therefore, rotation will be the indispensable key word for the Salento coach.
Napoli’s upcoming fixtures will be two games where maximum effort is required: first against PSV and then against Inter.
Something needs to change because otherwise, there is a risk of collapse, and the Neapolitans cannot afford it.

The evening match of the 7th day of Serie A Roma-Inter ends 0-1, with Bonny scoring the only goal in the early minutes of the match. Inter dominated the game, with Roma posing a threat only on a few occasions.
Roma-Inter 0-1, Bonny’s early goal at the Olimpico decides the match, 3 crucial points for Chivu’s team
The Saturday evening Roma-Inter match ends 0-1, with Bonny scoring early on, securing 3 crucial points for Cristian Chivu’s team. Roma posed a threat only on a few occasions, with Inter dominating most of the game and having opportunities to extend their lead.
Inter started strong, with an error from Pellegrini in the 2nd minute allowing Lautaro to set up Barella, but the chance was missed. However, in the 6th minute, Inter took the lead: Barella assisted Bonny, who ran half the field and scored past Svilar to make it 1-0 for Inter at the Olimpico. Inter came close to doubling their lead in the 10th minute with Calhanoglu, but Svilar was ready this time. The first attempt from Roma came in the 27th minute from a corner by Dybala to Ndicka, whose header went wide. Towards the end of the half, Wesley posed a threat, but the Inter defense held firm. The first half ended with Inter leading 1-0.
The second half started with Inter continuing to pose a threat, with Dumfries attempting a dangerous shot in the 50th minute, but Svilar was alert. Then it was Roma’s turn, with Dybala trying a shot that was saved by Sommer. Roma tried to find the equalizer at this point, but none of their attempts were successful. However, in the 59th minute, Roma came close to equalizing with Dovbyk, who shot high despite Sommer being out of position. In the 84th minute, Inter almost doubled their lead with Mkhitaryan hitting the post. After 5 minutes of added time, the match ended 1-0 for Inter.
The man of the match was the goal scorer Bonny, one of the many young talents that have joined Inter this year. Chivu’s team is sending a message to their rivals: Inter will be a strong contender for the Scudetto this year. The others have been warned.

“The matches last 90 minutes. We conceded a really ugly goal that affected us” – Soccer style

Roma-Inter, tonight one of the big matches of the season took place: a high-paced game. Our analysis of the match.
Fate brought Cristian Chivu, current coach of the Nerazzurri, back to the pitch of the Olimpico. This time as a coach, after stepping on that field with boots on 20 years ago.
The occasion was the big match Roma-Inter, one of the most anticipated of the season. A match missing two important elements of the respective teams – Angelino for Roma, Thuram for Inter – but with significant importance especially for Roma, who, with the defeated Napoli, risked being alone at the top of the Serie A standings. At least until tomorrow.
On Roma’s side, we saw the return of Dybala as a false nine from the start and Bailey on the bench, with Wesley positioned on the left.
Roma-Inter, a high-paced match
The first dangerous situation for Roma occurred as early as minute 2 with Barella missing a shot. The first yellow card of the match went to Lautaro for a foul on Wesley. A foul that led to a valuable free-kick taken by Dybala, but saved by Pellegrini. Shortly after, former Parma player Bonny, one of the latest summer transfer signings, scored the precious goal for Inter, assisted by Barella who redeemed himself from the previous error.
At 10′, Calhanoglu also tried, but the shot was central and did not trouble Svilar. At 12′, Pellegrini attempted a shot, sending the ball too wide, and shortly after Cristante did the same from the opposite side.
Inter’s dominance in the first half
This Inter team showed their solidity by dominating the first half, especially relying on Dimarco and a solid midfield. Among them, former Roma player Mkhitaryan also stood out, attempting a very dangerous shot at 15′. The scorer of Inter’s goal, Bonny, always positioned himself perfectly, demonstrating the foresight of Piero Ausilio in acquiring him in the summer.
At 25′, the Giallorossi tried to regain control of the game, starting from Svilar. A great opportunity came from a corner at 27′, but Roma couldn’t capitalize. At 28′, swift as a cat, Mkhitaryan regained possession thanks to a tackle from captain Lautaro and took a powerful shot that was a bit too high.
Roma wasted goal-scoring chances, missing two attempts in a few minutes. Wesley, an important playmaker, especially in relation to Dybala, was inaccurate and sought to draw fouls multiple times. Despite being the oldest team in Serie A in terms of average age, Inter ran a lot and fast, often finding spaces to attack the home team aggressively.
The roar of the Olimpico accompanied Dumfries’ foul on Mancini, signaling the start of the 45′. No breakthrough for Roma by the end of the first half.
Roma-Inter, the second half: the response of the Giallorossi and Bailey’s entrance
The second half opened with Dumfries threatening Svilar immediately, who was ready for his shot, perhaps too central. At 53′, Dybala came close to scoring and Roma reacted, with Koné shooting towards the goal and Roma winning a free-kick. Dybala took the shot, which was well saved by Sommer.
Roma made changes on the field: Pellegrini and Ndicka out, Dovbyk and Ziolkowski in.
The game heated up again at 60′: first with Celik’s off-target shot and then with Dovbyk’s header too high. The Curva Sud expressed its dissent loudly.
Shortly after, Inter shuffled the deck with the exit of Lautaro and Calhanoglu and the entrance of Pio Esposito, back from national team duties, and Frattesi.
At 73′, Dybala was substituted, followed by Hermoso, and the highly promising summer transfer signing for Roma made his debut: Leon Bailey. Will the lion roar? During his time on the field, he showed excellent ability to get past opponents and agile running that will surely be valuable for the Giallorossi starting today.
Meanwhile, Gasp went all in and also brought in the second center-forward of the squad: number 11 Evan Ferguson, replacing Soulé. Inter responded by substituting Barella and Di Marco with Zielinski and Carlos Augusto.
Despite the fresh energy and attempts by the usually proactive Ukrainian striker – the most dangerous of which came in the 89th minute – Roma failed to shake things up. Not that they didn’t try – at 90′ Cristante attempted a header – but they couldn’t make a breakthrough. Five minutes of added time didn’t change the situation.
Roma lost their lead in the standings and risk being overtaken by the likely Milan tomorrow when they face Fiorentina.
