Inter, Marotta confirms the Under 23 squad: what do we know

Giuseppe Marotta believes in it. He has an ambitious project in mind that he should realize in a short time with a second team at Inter.
For some weeks now, rumors have been circulating about the Nerazzurri dealing with the creation of a second Under 23 team at Inter.
A team that could compete in the Serie C Championship and face off against counterparts from Juventus, Atalanta, and Milan.
Rumors turned into certainties when it was none other than Giuseppe Marotta who confirmed the idea of a second team in a press conference (after the club’s shareholders meeting).
Marotta stated: “We are setting up the model of the Under 23 team to which we will later give a specific name. We will submit the application to the federation and I believe there will be no problems.”
He is confident that Inter will have the second team: “I think that from 2025-26 we will have the second team. In principle, we will play in Monza. We are building it together with Ausilio, Baccin, Zanetti, and myself. We are evaluating everything, we are still at the hypothesis stage and I cannot say more at the moment.”

Inter is considering the second team
What does the regulation provide for Under 23 teams? What margin of maneuver will Inter have?
Currently, it is possible to compose a second team with a maximum of 23 players, of which only 4 of them born before January 1, 2003.
At this point, it is clear that the Inter envisioned by Marotta & Co. must necessarily consider Primavera players and some reinforcements currently on loan.
Possible players for Inter’s Under 23 squad are: Andrea Zanchetta, Luka Topalovic, Matteo Spinaccè, Amadou Sarr (currently at Foggia), Giacomo Stabile (Alcione Milano).
Or Luca Di Maggio (on loan at Perugia) and Francesco Stante (currently at Pergolettese).
The Inter Under 23 team is still a hypothesis, as these potential names will necessarily need to be supplemented with other summer market reinforcements, which for now are only hypothetical.
Surely the second team could help the Nerazzurri club increase their income through incoming and outgoing player exchanges, as well as valorize the younger players in a competitive professional context like Serie C.
Who knows, we might soon see another team with a bright future.

Parma, something still isn’t right: Tardini the only certainty
The Parma is preparing for the home match against Como scheduled for Saturday at 3 PM. After the draw at Marassi, doubts have emerged about referees and motivations.
The controversies following the expulsion of Ndiaye, which heavily influenced the match against Genoa, have almost justified the performance of Cuesta’s men. Despite the incident, the team’s reaction was not seen, and in the end, they almost suffered a defeat.
Parma, lacking continuity: the next opponent is Como
Six points in 7 games and several relegation clashes already closed, this is the start of the season for the Crociati team that came out unscathed at Marassi despite almost an hour with one man down. In the end, Suzuki’s saved penalty was a reflection of the decidedly below-par performance of Pellegrino and his teammates.
It is true that such a delicate away game requires a defensive attitude, especially with one man down, however, Ndiaye’s expulsion came in the 42nd minute (surrounded by heated debates on the severity of the foul that led to the first yellow for the yellow-blue defender) and until that moment, Parma had not shown a great performance. The home team had already taken control from the start, and the statistics after the first 45 minutes, including total shots (7), possession (56% vs 44%), and expected goals (0.39 vs 0.05), showed that the match was already an uphill battle.
It is known that Genoa at home is a beast and gives very little space to opponents, especially in a relegation clash, and a countermeasure in this sense had not yet been revealed. Cuesta then had to completely change the lineup in the second half with the exit of Almqvist, one of the main offensive threats, and the entry of Ordonez.
A team lacking energy
The second 45 minutes saw the Grifone attack with all their energies to find a goal that would have been worth its weight in gold. Instead, a great Suzuki prevented Ekhator and his teammates from taking home the 3 points. The defeat against Lecce seems to have suddenly extinguished the fire that was lit by the victory against Torino a few weeks ago.
The opportunity to redeem themselves is just around the corner, and against Como, it will be mandatory to take advantage of the Tardini factor, which was decisive in terms of points against Atalanta and the Granata. Pellegrino must find the joy of scoring, as well as Cutrone, but the rest of the team is also called upon to show their desire for victory. Bernabé continues to show great plays but still lacks effectiveness in the final third, as do Almqvist and Britscghi.

Cremona, undefeated against the other small teams: the Nicola effect

Udinese, the Okoye case: the Public Prosecutor continues to investigate

The betting case involving Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is still ongoing, as he has been called to trial for fraud by the Udine Prosecutor’s Office.
In the last Serie A match against Cremonese, Maduka Okoye returned to defend the goal for Udinese. After serving a two-month suspension for the betting case, the Nigerian goalkeeper returned to the field immediately reclaiming his starting position, which had been filled by Razvan Sava in his absence.
However, the ordeal related to the betting case in which he is involved does not seem to be entirely over. The Udine Prosecutor’s Office has not closed the case. Instead, they have issued a decree summoning him to stand trial for aggravated fraud, with the first hearing set for May 13, 2026.

Udinese, Okoye case: an update on the investigation
The investigation revolves around an abnormal flow of bets related to the match played between Lazio and Udinese on March 11, 2024, during which Okoye was booked for time-wasting in the 63rd minute.
In the realm of sports betting, the yellow card shown to the Udinese goalkeeper, which had odds of eight times the stake, generated total winnings of over €120,000, most of which were recorded in the province of Udine.
According to the Udine Prosecutor’s Office, Okoye had arranged the action with a Friulian entrepreneur, the owner of a pizzeria, in a meeting prior to the match against Lazio. Two other entrepreneurs are also implicated, who, upon learning of this insider information, also placed bets. The three of them earned a total of over €28,000.
The injured party is said to be the company Snaitech, which suffered an economic loss as a result of the abnormal betting activity. Now Okoye must prepare to face the trial while Udinese, whose club is not under investigation, waits for further developments.
