Inter vs Feyenoord: probable lineups and where to watch it

Simone Inzaghi, Inter’s coach, discusses tomorrow’s match against Feyenoord in a press conference. Coverage by TMW.
Simone Inzaghi has recently made statements regarding the team’s status ahead of tomorrow’s match. What is going on in Inzaghi’s mind?
Inter, Inzaghi’s words
What goes through the mind of a coach with 19 potential games left to achieve a feat?
“My mood is very good. Clearly, I am focused on tomorrow night’s match with Feyenoord, because we are facing a team we beat 2-0 in the first leg, but the game against Monza reminds us of how complex all matches can be. We saw it in the Champions League, they all hold pitfalls.”
Do you have any doubts about the lineup, maybe thinking about Atalanta?
“I’m not thinking about the league, I will make rotations based on the players’ physical condition. We have some fatigue to evaluate, Lautaro and De Vrij did not train with us, but I have good feelings. I will assess whether to play them or not, in addition to the usual unavailable players, Zielinski has suffered a significant injury at an unfortunate time. He was growing a lot, helping us: we will wait for him like others.”

Even if they don’t have 90 minutes, would it be better to have Calhanoglu and Thuram on the field?
“I don’t know, I am evaluating both. Thuram, it’s pointless to hide it, has been struggling with a problem for about a month now, which is causing him difficulties: he can’t train as before, he’s playing with painkillers and injections. He doesn’t back down and helps us, now we will evaluate: in Rotterdam, he played 60 minutes, on Sunday he came off the bench, and today he had a decent training session, I will decide. Correa is not available upfront, and the other four should all be available, including Lautaro: I will choose.”
Is the Scudetto race a problem or a motivation?
“It shouldn’t be a problem, but a motivation. We must be proud of what we are doing, these boys find energies that sometimes we wonder where they get them from. During this period, we had some absences, which limited our rotations. We played a lot of games, and let’s not forget that last year in the Champions League, we qualified for the last 16 against Salzburg on November 6 or 7, so we knew when we would play. This year we had to play the last game at the end of January against Monaco, it was a longer qualification process, and in these three months, we had to consider the Champions League, while last year, not having the Coppa Italia and qualifying with two rounds to spare, we only focused on the league. It’s a fact, but we are proud of what we are doing and what we must continue to do: there are many commitments, but we are proud to fulfill them.”
Two years ago, at some point, you started winning all the games with systematic rotations. Could that be a path to follow?
“Yes, without forgetting that two years ago, the Champions League was not like this. Two years ago, we completed the last 16 qualification a week later than what I said last year. Now, two more games have been added in January that don’t allow you to make calculations. Furthermore, in previous years, you prepared for three matches, home and away against the same opponent: this year you have to prepare for eight different ones, it’s not easy. Rotations are essential, at the moment, especially regarding the wingers, we have missed out on them. We must play these two games in the best possible way, then with the break, we hope to recover physical and mental energies.”
Are the 200 games with Inter a source of pride?
“Of great pride, I thank the players who have given me the opportunity to reach this milestone in such a prestigious club.”
Will Sommer return? And do you ask for more from Taremi?
“Sommer will play in goal tomorrow, he has been with us for a year and a half, and he has done great things. Martinez has done very well, and I would like to have choices in other positions. Taremi is a guy who is working hard, trying to help us: I see him working very well, focused, he has integrated into the group. Then he is a forward and he is looking for goals, tomorrow could be a great opportunity for him.”
There has been a lot of talk about the postponement granted to Feyenoord in the league?
“I have already said it: the regulations are there, they could do it, and they did well. Although clearly, as a coach, I would have liked them to play like us.”
Is Dumfries becoming one of the most important players at Inter?
“Congratulations are due for the performance he has had at Inter, he did not arrive by chance because he was a starter and captain at PSV: we have taken an excellent player, who also has the desire to always improve. He is a great professional, who always wants to study and analyze the team. He wants to better himself every day, and this is a great quality he has, in addition to his footballing and physical qualities.”
Thuram had a slight physiological drop, in addition to physical problems?
“I would like to make him do some physical work, it would mean he is fine, but in the last month, he hasn’t been able to do much due to a little problem he is dealing with. I am considering whether to start him or bring him off the bench tomorrow, he is a very important player, and his drop is solely due to the ankle problem he is having. He is also a great professional.”
Maybe Dimarco might not make it for Atalanta, but he should go to the national team. Thuram too. As a club coach, do you think this is a big problem?
“Well, I don’t get into these things now. We know that Thuram and Dimarco have problems, but now our biggest problem is Feyenoord, where we will have Thuram and not Dimarco. Then we will evaluate for Bergamo, there are medical staff both at Inter, the national team, and the French federation. I coach and only think about Feyenoord.”

Steaua Bucharest-Bologna 1-2, first win for the red and blue team in Europe: decisive goals from Odgaard and Dallinga
In the 3rd match of the Europa League group stage, Steaua Bucharest-Bologna ends 1-2, with Odgaard and Dallinga’s goals securing the first win for the red and blue team in Europe, a victory dedicated to their coach Vincenzo Italiano, who was not on the bench tonight. A Bologna team that is back on track for qualification, with an impressive performance.
The red and blue team start strong, showing initiative in the Romanian area, and in the 9th minute they take the lead: on an action by Freuler, Dallinga sets up Odgaard who puts the ball into the net for 1-0 to Bologna. Three minutes later, the red and blue team double their lead: taking advantage of a mistake in the Steaua defense, Dallinga scores with a powerful shot, making it 2-0 and practically sealing the game. In the 33rd minute, a goal by Orsolini for 3-0 is disallowed for offside. Bologna dominates the game, but Steaua Bucharest comes close to scoring twice, only to be denied by Skorupski on both occasions. The first half ends 2-0 in favor of Bologna.
The second half starts with Bologna posing a threat with Orsolini and Lykogiannis, but Steaua Bucharest pulls one back: on a Romanian attack, Vitik heads the ball to clear the area, allowing Birligea to beat Lucumì and Skorupski to make it 2-1, reopening the game. However, Bologna remains composed, coming close to a third goal with Dallinga, but the Romanian goalkeeper is up to the task. The end sees Bologna close to scoring a third goal, first with Orsolini, then Odgaard, and finally Orsolini hitting the post. After 5 minutes of stoppage time, the referee blows the final whistle to confirm the victory for Bologna.
The standout player without a doubt is Dallinga, truly unstoppable tonight, but it’s the entire Bologna team that has really clicked, looking like the team that made history for the club last year, as they did tonight in Bucharest.

Fiorentina coach Pioli spoke at a press conference on the eve of the second match of the Conference League group stage tomorrow evening against Rapid Vienna.
Stefano Pioli met with the press ahead of the challenge against Rapid Vienna, here are his responses to the questions from the journalists present.
Is the Conference League an opportunity to change the trend of the league as well?
The league is a different story, the Conference is another tournament, we need to earn points. Then from Sunday, there will be other matches…
What aspect are you finding most challenging?
In the last few matches, we have played on par with teams of excellent level, we need to play more as a team at certain moments. We need to support each other more. What is said outside of our group is good for us, it brings us closer together.
Was there a meeting with some player representatives?
To deny it means it didn’t happen… If a player talks to the coach, is it possible for him to reject it? It’s falsehoods. We are united. But what do we need and want? Results and we are working to give satisfaction to the fans and the club.
Have you seen signs of improvement in the last few games: what are they?
I believe that compared to the first games, we have been more attentive, more compact: we need to attack more, be more dangerous, we need to fill the opponent’s area.
You have a rather complicated group: do you agree?
We want to go all the way, but it is clear that we have a tough group, we have taken the best from each tier…
What’s going on with Gudmundsson?
I have a lot of confidence in this player, I see him better: he is a player who will give us a big hand, I’m sure of it.
The Florentine environment is in turmoil… do you hear the criticism against you?
The moment is particular, the criticisms against me do not take away my serenity, my clarity in work, I always put more dedication. I believe it is correct to judge only the performances and not what may be around. Every time we lose, it is said that the locker room is divided but we need to work, focus and I believe in my players.
There will be several close games, are you thinking of some rotations?
Tomorrow I will make more changes than usual, we have three very close commitments. But I am convinced that whoever takes the field is ready to play a good game.
Has anything changed with Sohm after a period where he didn’t convince?
Sohm is doing better, he has regained good condition: I think he will play tomorrow, I don’t know if from the start or as a substitute.
Goalkeeper choice: De Gea or Martinelli tomorrow?
De Gea will play tomorrow, as I think Comuzzo could play. Fagioli did well in Milan.
