Hellas Verona, upcoming deadlines: who stays and who goes?

Published

on

The Hellas Verona is facing the national break with many absences due to international commitments. Looking ahead to June, there are many contracts expiring.

The gialloblu of Zanetti are on track towards salvation but it is necessary to analyze the players whose contracts are expiring in June, to understand who will wear this shirt next season and who will not.

Hellas Verona, the point on loans and expirations

Considering also the January transfer market, Sean Sogliano has managed to bring other players to the Adige with the loan formula, whether dry or with a redemption right, therefore expiring in June.

The first name that will definitely leave the club at the end of the season is Nicolàs Valentini. The Argentine arrived from Fiorentina during the last transfer window in search of space and minutes but will return to the viola.

Regarding redemption, the most important name is Casper Tengstedt. The Dane is on loan from Benfica and has won over everyone around the Arena. The club must decide whether to invest those 7 million euros to acquire him permanently, but there are admirers and there could be offers.

In terms of value, here comes Flavius Daniliuc, on loan from Salernitana with a redemption right set at 4 million. The little playing time should convince the club to let him return to Campania, where he will probably be just passing through.

Similar situation for Bradaric who boasts the same amount as his former Granata teammate, a possible end to the relationship here as well. As for Amin Sarr, his performance has not gone unnoticed and he has been ready after Tengstedt’s injury. An agreement had been reached with Lyon for about 4 million, and if more goals were to come in these remaining 9 matches, his stay at Hellas could become permanent.

For Bernede, the situation is slightly different, in the sense that here we are talking about a redemption obligation linked to the team’s salvation. In case of goal achievement, Presidio Investors should pay around 3.5 million to acquire him permanently from Lausanne.

The same situation involves Kastanos and Niasse, who will become gialloblu in case of goal achievement for 1.8 and 1.5 million euros respectively. Okou, on the other hand, will definitely return to Bastia.

Players with expiring contracts: many veterans

As for the players who have not renewed their contract yet and whose last expiry date is set for June 2025, some of them are destined to say goodbye while others still have a chance to stay.

Among these is the match winner from Udine, Ondrej Duda. The Slovak is an integral part of the Scaliger project and his departure would force the club to find a suitable replacement. He has always been dedicated to the cause but negotiations for renewal have not yet begun.

Another much talked-about name is Pawel Dawidowicz, in the squad since 2019. It seems that his cycle has come to an end but he spoke to TVP Sport about it: “My contract is about to expire, negotiations are ongoing. I am at Hellas and we have our work to do. As long as I’m here, I will give my best. I have been in Verona for a long time and I am the captain. I don’t want to rush into the future.”

Last but not least, there are former captains Lazovic and Faraoni. Both are heading towards goodbye to Hellas Verona for different reasons after many years.

Napoli-Torino, match valid for the 34th round of Serie A: insights and statistics on the match scheduled for Sunday, April 27 at 8:45 PM.

NapoliTorino will close out the Sunday of Serie A.

The Azzurri have been at the top of the table since last week: the victory over Monza combined with Inter’s defeat in Bologna allowed Antonio Conte’s men to reach the summit.

On the other side, there is a Torino team aiming for a positive end to the season: the triumph over Udinese has propelled the Granata to tenth place, with Vanoli looking to finish on the left side of the table.

Below are the insights, statistics, and history of Napoli-Torino.

Napoli-Torino: Insights and Statistics

Napoli has won six of the last eight matches against Torino in Serie A (1D, 1L), keeping a clean sheet five times in that span; the two games where the Granata remained unbeaten date back to last season: 3-0 at home and 1-1 at the Maradona.

Napoli has been unbeaten in 12 consecutive home games in Serie A against Torino (7W, 5D); however, the Partenopei have drawn four of the last seven matches at home against the Granata, including the most recent one (1-1, March 8, 2024).

Napoli is the team that has gained the most points in this league against teams currently in the top positions of Serie A (top 10): 33, at least six more than any other team.

Torino has won two of the last three matches against teams starting the day in the top two positions in Serie A (1L), the same number of victories the Granata achieved in the previous 33 such games in the competition (9D, 22L).

Napoli has won the last two Serie A matches (3-0 vs Empoli, 1-0 vs Monza) and is one win away from matching the seven-game winning streak from December to January; that streak also marks the last time the Partenopei won three consecutive matches with clean sheets in the league (against Venezia, Fiorentina, and Hellas Verona).

In the last 10 away games in Serie A, Torino has only lost twice, securing six draws (2W); during this period (since early December), no team has drawn more away matches than the Granata in the league (also six for Venezia).

Napoli is the team that has conceded the fewest goals in the top five European leagues this season (25); only twice have the Partenopei conceded fewer goals after 33 games in a Serie A season with at least 20 teams (23 in 2017/18 and 2022/23).

Scott McTominay has scored nine goals in this season, including a decisive one in the first leg match (1-0, December 1, 2024); in the De Laurentiis era, no Napoli midfielder has ever reached double figures in goals in their debut Serie A season.

Romelu Lukaku has been involved in six goals (three goals, three assists) in the last three appearances at the Maradona in Serie A, scoring in each match; only once has the Belgian found the net in more consecutive home games in Serie A, reaching seven with Inter between September 2020 and January 2021.

Eljif Elmas’ first 143 appearances in Serie A, enriched with 14 goals between 2019 and 2023, have come with Napoli; among midfielders who have scored in each of the last six seasons in the competition (18 total goals in the period), the Macedonian is the youngest (born in 1999).
