Empoli, more than half of the squad to expire: salvation is crucial

Inter aims decisively at the American market, strategic for economic growth and visibility. Marotta and Oaktree are already looking to the 2026 World Cup.
The entrepreneurial development of the new Inter under Oaktree also relies on the North American market, considered particularly strategic for future seasons.
Confirming this vision was Inter’s president, Beppe Marotta, during the latest Shareholders’ Meeting, where he emphasized the need to develop commercial strategies in the world’s most important markets: “The first of all is the American market,” he declared.
With this year’s Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup taking place in the United States (along with Canada and Mexico), the coming years represent an unmissable showcase for an ambitious club like Inter.
The strategy of North American players
Following the example of Milan, Napoli, and Juventus, who have already benefited from visibility in recent years with acquisitions like Pulisic, McKennie, Musah, Gimenez, Lozano, and Weah, Inter has also attempted several times to attract talents born in the USA.
Years ago, there was interest in Folarin Balogun, now at Monaco, while last summer the deal for Tanner Tessmann from Venezia was almost finalized, but it fell through due to the player’s decision.
A first step was taken with the arrival of Canadian Tajon Buchanan, although his contribution to the Nerazzurri cause was almost negligible.

Inter, the profiles followed for the future
As reported by Calciomercato.com, the monitoring of the US market continues. There has been a long-standing interest in Ricardo Pepi, born in 2003 and currently with PSV, but protected by a long contract with the Dutch club.
In midfield, Malick Tillman, who grew up at Bayern Munich and holds a European passport, is in focus. There are also eyes on Giovanni Reyna, leaving Borussia Dortmund but finding it challenging to fit into Simone Inzaghi‘s system.
Lastly, Joseph Scally, a full-back from Borussia Mönchengladbach, is back in the spotlight, previously discussed and potentially a backup for Dumfries, providing an important additional option on the wings.

Lazio, good news: Rovella shortens recovery time

Good news for the unlucky Lazio of Maurizio Sarri: Nicolò Rovella is recovering optimally from pubalgia – early return anticipated?
The Lazio coach can finally smile. One of his most important players, Rovella, is showing great improvements. The midfielder is recovering from pubalgia by choosing to undergo conservative therapy rather than surgery, which would have kept him out for a longer period. So far, his choice seems to be paying off: his physical condition is significantly improving.

When will Rovella return to Lazio?
If things continue in this way, Nicolò Rovella could return to the field even before the November break. Initially, his reintroduction was scheduled for the middle of next month, but given the improvement in the situation, an early recovery is now likely. Of course, the midfielder will not be available for the match against Juventus in the next Serie A round, but he will be evaluated for the subsequent matches.

No good news for Cagliari of Pisacane, who is coming off a home defeat against Bologna: injury for a defender.
The Sardinians are preparing for the next league challenge against Hellas Verona. However, the coach must deal with physical problems affecting a key player for him: Yerry Mina. The Colombian suffered an injury in the match against Bologna in the last round and is now working separately to recover. His condition will be evaluated ahead of the next league match.

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
