Lazio, Baroni’s words in the press conference
Booing at the end of the game.
“Understandable, it’s been a while since we won at home and we didn’t do everything to win the game. You can’t concede this goal, period. You can’t concede a goal from a team that hardly ever wants to score. I’m angry like a beast but this is the reality, I believe this draw should be a wake-up call. When you play a game where you control the first half, in the second half you open up the game, you can’t concede this goal.”
Performance.
“I saw a team that did everything to win. You have to be aggressive on that ball, it’s disappointing and we are here commenting on a non-victory that you deserved based on what was seen on the field.”
Standings.
“We look at the standings, it’s normal, but we have to recreate the conditions to improve it and the team knows it. The team, if I remove the error of the goal, played a very focused game in all aspects, conceding very little to the opponent and creating chances. There were all the ingredients to win the game.”
Mood and future games.
“We are all angry because we have to, I repeat, either close out games or not concede goals. Now there is Atalanta. You face one game at a time, one ball at a time, which is what was lacking today.”
Goals conceded.
“At this moment, it’s the problem. We concede very few shots but I’m not talking about bad luck, we have to do better on that ball. There is no important ball and a less important one, to win you have to play all the balls.”
Fatigue.
“Energy for the two competitions? Absolutely yes. Now we can’t think about fatigue, let’s not joke. When you play the first games, you have the preseason and friendlies, now we have 43 games on us not to mention the national team matches. This is the championship we are playing, so it’s normal that we will lose something in the gameplay but we have to find the conditions and today we did it.”

The Fiorentina has just released a statement regarding the situation at the Franchi stadium. Following the announcement from the Municipality of Florence, the club has issued a response.
New developments on the construction site at the Franchi stadium after the Municipality announced further delays and that the works will not be completed in time for the club’s centenary.
Fiorentina, Franchi Stadium: The Club’s Statement
ACF Fiorentina, in response to today’s statement from the Municipality of Florence regarding the Franchi Stadium, clarifies that the Municipality has provided information in recent days regarding the progress of the works and the delays that are already expected by the end of 2026.
The Club can only express discontent and surprise considering the cooperation always shown, such as leaving the stadium free from the end of May to mid-September this year.
Further possible activities for the second part of the works have also been outlined, which at the moment could still involve several months away from the Franchi. Scenarios that can only generate concern and disappointment. In light of the latest information provided, as already communicated to the Municipality, the conditions for any involvement of Fiorentina in the project will need to be re-evaluated.
There is still great regret for not having been able to complete the New Franchi with previous interlocutors, which in 2019, President Commisso wanted to realize at his own expense, only to realize that this was never allowed.
The Franchi Stadium, already a construction site since February 2024, will remain so with all the economic and sporting difficulties that follow, certainly throughout the 2026/27 season, the year of the centenary.
