Roberto Mancini will not be the new coach of Sampdoria: after reflection, the former Legend has declined, and will be the new technical manager.
After a long reflection, Roberto Mancini will not be the new coach of Sampdoria, giving the opportunity to coach the blucerchiati to Alberigo Evani. The former Sampdoria Legend will most likely be the new technical manager.

CHORZOW, POLAND – OCTOBER 14, 2018: UEFA Nations League 2019: Poland – Italy o/p Roberto Mancini
Sampdoria, Mancini will not sit on the blucerchiata bench, he is ready for the role of technical manager
Now really tumultuous times at Sampdoria, with a situation never seen since the foundation of the blucerchiato club in 1946, with the prospect of relegation to Serie C if the second division tournament were to end today. To replace Leonardo Semplici, many names were considered, but the really suggestive one of Roberto Mancini had emerged, the captain of a thousand battles, the one who led them to the 1991 Serie A title and the Champions League final at Wembley the following year.
However, Mancini, after much consideration, has declined the offer, and the new Sampdoria coach will be Alberigo Evani, his former teammate. Nevertheless, Mancini will have a role within the club, that of technical manager, overseeing the technical area.
The truly suggestive idea, born from many former blucerchiato glories seeing their club at risk of Serie C for the first time, seemed like it could materialize, with initial contacts with management. However, in the end, Mancini declined but reiterated his willingness to support his former club, with a very English role, which suits the former National Team coach well.
So Alberigo Evani will have the onerous task of attempting the desperate attempt to save the blucerchiati from relegation. For Mancini, however, he will still contribute to his former club, which he has never forgotten and wants to contribute to as a technical manager.
