After Mbappè moved to Real Madrid, many assumed another Galacticos victory in the Champions League. However, it is precisely PSG, the former team of the French star, that is 90 minutes away from bringing home the prestigious trophy.

In 2009, Ibrahimovic moved from Inter to Barcelona with the goal of winning the Champions League – but things didn’t go as planned. After the sale of the Swedish striker, Inter signed Milito, Sneijder, and Eto’o.

They, along with Mourinho on the sidelines, were the protagonists of Inter’s treble in the 2009/10 season. Moreover, it was Milito and his teammates who eliminated Barcelona in the semifinals.

In short: you don’t necessarily need a star player to triumph in the Champions League.
