Serie A, coaches after 150 matches: Inzaghi in second place
Views: 41
Inter’s coach, despite having a “makeshift” team, achieved his 100th victory – out of 150 games – in Serie A against Torino.
This is undoubtedly a sign of continuity in a project (only 4 coaches before him had reached that minimum number of matches in Inter), complex in some ways but certainly marked by competitiveness, placing him second in this special statistic.

Serie A: Coaches with the Best Points Average
In the Italian championship, some coaches have stood out not only for their longevity with a particular club but also for the effectiveness with which they have led it. This study analyzes the coaches with at least 150 appearances in Serie A. Standing out are charismatic coaches who have made a significant mark in terms of points first and then points average.
Simone Inzaghi, despite his recent 150 games with Inter, ranks in the silver medal position. The coach from Piacenza boasts a points average of over 2 (only 5 others can say the same). Keeping him company is the Inter coach, Simone Inzaghi, Massimiliano Allegri (8 seasons with Juventus) with 2.20, leading the pack. Rounding out the top three is another coach with 6 seasons at the helm of Inter: Roberto Mancini. The former player of Sampdoria and Lazio has a points average of 2.01.
Also able to join the “2 points club” are Stefano Pioli (2.01 in 5 seasons with Milan), Marcello Lippi (8 seasons with Juventus) with 2, and Luciano Spalletti. The Tuscan coach achieved an average of 2 points per game in his 7 seasons with Roma.
Several important coaches are outside of this club, such as: Carlo Ancelotti, Arrigo Sacchi, and Giovanni Trapattoni. The two former Milan coaches have averages of 1.97 and 1.85 respectively. A distinction must be made for the former coach of Inter and Juventus.
Trapattoni is the only one, along with the current Inter coach, to appear twice in the top 20. Indeed, Simone Inzaghi achieved a 1.82 average in 6 seasons with Lazio. The 86-year-old from Cusano di Milano, on the other hand, obtained a 1.92 average in 13 seasons with Juventus and 1.88 in 5 seasons with Inter.
Games Won: The Winner Is…
In the total count of games won, the coach from Piacenza takes the 14th position. He has 208 victories in 347 games played. There is a significant gap between him and Giovanni Trapattoni, who leads the list with 352 games won. However, Trap has played 689 games, almost double that of Inzaghi.
The Inter coach can still climb positions in this final stretch of Serie A. By defeating Lazio and Como, he would rise to 210 victories, equaling Claudio Ranieri and Francesco Guidolin with many fewer games played, of course (498 for the Roma coach and 555 for the former Palermo coach).
Despite all these statistics, Simone Inzaghi may not keep the championship title. Everything is in the hands of Antonio Conte. The Napoli coach has a total of 150 victories in Serie A. With two more, he would reach 152, the same number of wins as Cesare Prandelli, currently in 21st place.
Antonio Conte may not make it to the top 20, but he surely won’t dwell on it. Two mentions to make. The first: Allegri and Nereo Rocco on the podium. The Tuscan coach had 506 matches with 302 victories. The Triestine coach, on the other hand, achieved 300 wins out of 748 matches played.
The second: Carlo Carletto Mazzone holds the record for matches as a coach: 792 with 227 wins.

Will Franco Israel be guarding the goal in Torino-Genoa?

Doubt in Torino. Franco Israel’s conditions could make him miss the match against Genoa. The match will take place at 12:30.
The goalkeeper of Torino is in serious doubt for the match against Genoa; the trauma to his right rib, suffered in the match against Napoli, does not seem to have fully healed.
During the match against Napoli, the goalkeeper received a nasty blow which was then evaluated by the medical staff of the granata. The result: the goalkeeper was unable to complete his normal weekly preparation and, for this reason, does not seem to be included in the lineup of twelve against the Grifoni.
Today, however, we await the official medical report on the condition of the twenty-five-year-old Uruguayan.
If the results are not positive for Franco Israel, then it will be the turn of his substitute Paleari.
Torino, currently in 15th place in the Serie A standings, is waiting for the official results of the goalkeeper Israel’s physical condition.

What happened to the Torino goalkeeper and what to expect in the coming hours
The player received a blow during the match against Napoli (in which the granata won 1-0 against the Neapolitan team). A joy broken by the injury that appeared, from the very beginning, quite serious.
To worsen the mood of the Turin club, the player’s absence in the weekly training session (to prepare for the match against the Ligurians) and, therefore, rumors about his health status have increased.
This absence itself would suggest, regardless of the verdict, that the goalkeeper will be absent on the field tomorrow, Sunday, October 26, but what is most breath-taking is the medical report.
Genoa, the team that is bottom of the Serie A standings, could take advantage of this forced stop to try and secure three much-needed points. At this point in the season, in fact, the Ligurians must try to drastically change their fate, otherwise a future relegation seems more than likely.
The team of Marco Baroni must instead keep their eyes on the horizon and not lose concentration in order to continue to stay in the middle of the table and then, who knows, even try to climb up the ranks.

Milan, Modric: “A big shame, we threw away 2 points”

AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric commented on the bitter 2-2 draw against Pisa in a press conference.

Milan, Modric’s words
MILAN-PISA 2-2
“We expected this match, they came to defend and make our lives difficult. It’s our fault if we didn’t win: we didn’t do enough to win the game. We lost two important points today. These home games, with all due respect to Pisa, you have to win them.”
TIGHT MARKING?
“It’s fair, I have to adapt. We need to play better overall: we did some good things, created many chances but didn’t score. But I have to adapt for the rest.”
APPROACH
“We should have killed the game in the first half. We played well, but only scored one goal. We started the second half sluggishly, then there was the unfortunate penalty and goal. But that’s football, that’s why it’s beautiful: even if you’re stronger and deserve to win, anything can happen. We are sad and angry for losing two valuable points.”

We made mistakes, we need to reflect. However, Pisa played their game

AC Milan waste a great opportunity to consolidate their lead: from 1-0 to 1-2, they need the final minutes to avoid a sensational defeat. The risk of losing the top spot for Milan is now concrete.
It was supposed to be a quiet evening for the Rossoneri, an opportunity to strengthen their first place in the standings and face the midweek round with serenity. Instead, against a brave Pisa, the Rossoneri complicate their lives and have to thank Athekame, the author of the 2-2 in injury time, for avoiding an embarrassing loss.
AC Milan-Pisa 2-2: match analysis
The match started off on the right foot thanks to Leao’s goal after just seven minutes. But Allegri’s team, instead of closing the game, relaxed, showing presumption and lacking ruthlessness in front of goal. In the first half, Milan controlled but did not score, and Pisa stayed in the game.

In the second half, Gilardino played his trump card: Cuadrado’s entry changed everything. The Colombian won and scored the penalty for 1-1, his eighth goal in career against the Rossoneri, then inspired the counterattack that led Nzola to the sensational 2-1. Milan, confused and lacking clarity, tried to react, with Leao hitting the crossbar, Nkunku wasting a possible lead.
Only in injury time did the equalizer come, signed by Athekame, avoiding a heavy defeat but not erasing the bitterness. Perhaps the Rossoneri paid for their lack of respect for the opponent, just as Allegri had warned before the start of the match.
A necessary reality check, because on Tuesday in Bergamo Milan risks not showing up as the league leaders.
