From New York to Paris, then Lisbon, Madrid, Manchester, Turin, Riyadh, Tokyo, Monaco and beyond: the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 trophy has returned to Milan.
This weekend, the capital of Milan hosted the 19th stage of the FIFA 2025 Trophy Tour, the exciting journey of the Trophy that will visit all the cities of the participating clubs until June, including Inter and Juventus, to warm up the atmosphere around the kick-off of this revolutionary competition, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will be broadcast for free this summer by DAZN around the world, in almost 20 languages.

The Club World Cup Visits San Siro
In addition to passing through the San Siro stadium during Inter-Cagliari, the iconic Trophy also visited the offices of DAZN Italy to celebrate the Milanese stage. This is due to the key role that DAZN will play in this competition this summer, becoming a true global reference point for football.
Waiting for the trophy were Stefano Azzi, CEO of DAZN Italy, along with Diletta Leotta, a prominent figure of the sports live streaming platform and Ambassador of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 for DAZN. Also present was a special guest: Júlio César, former Brazilian goalkeeper and football legend who played for Inter, Flamengo, and Benfica, all in the running for the Club World Cup.
“We are excited to host the trophy of this new competition in our headquarters in Milan, a trophy that carries a beautiful story. A story that symbolizes, as FIFA President Gianni Infantino himself emphasized, the future inspired by the past to celebrate hope, excellence, and pride. With the arrival of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Trophy in our city and in our headquarters, we celebrate the key role of DAZN, which will be the global reference point for football this summer. Thanks to the historic agreement with FIFA, we will be the only ones to broadcast all 63 matches scheduled for free, offering unprecedented worldwide coverage to this prestigious competition,” said the CEO of DAZN.
Inter’s World Cup
The new competition, which will take place from June 14 to July 13, will see the Nerazzurri team from Milan try to be at least a protagonist of the tournament. Simone Inzaghi’s team has been drawn in Group E with River Plate, Monterrey, and Urawa Red Diamonds.
Beppe Marotta also commented on the team’s participation in the event to DAZN. “It is definitely a feeling of excitement and pride. Coming here means that we have surpassed many of our competitors; we are here based on a higher ranking than other teams, and it is a great satisfaction,” said the Inter president, who then emphasized the opportunity to face new opponents.
“This is the beauty of football: the unknown, the unpredictable things are part of this world. It is difficult to make predictions, there are teams stronger than Inter, but we will compete to the end. Our coaches are working for this, there are a few months left. Unfortunately, we are focused on commitments and national duties of absolute prestige, but we will also have the opportunity to focus on what will be the future commitments,” he said.
Marotta then teased the imagination of the Nerazzurri fans, talking about the possibility of winning not 3 but 4 titles: “This is in the club’s DNA. We must participate in our events aiming to achieve the maximum. We must be ambitious, so we absolutely want to try to win.”
So, mark your calendars for June 17, the debut of Inter against Monterrey. The other two matches will be played four days apart (June 21 vs Urawa Red Diamonds and June 25 vs River Plate).

Lautaro Martinez and Valentin Carboni save Inter from embarrassment: Urawa Red Diamonds come back at the 92nd minute, first place still possible waiting for River.
Inter, with one foot and a half out of the Club World Cup, overturns the Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds in 15 minutes: thanks to the goals from Lautaro Martinez first and Valentin Carboni, returning from injury, later.
Inter, Bastoni’s words
Inter defender, Alessandro Bastoni, spoke to DAZN microphones after the match.
Victory
“It had been a while since we had a victory, we were eager to feel it again. There was that unexpected goal, but we reacted well and I am proud of the team’s spirit.”
Mindset
“We are more free and carefree, we have always been focused: we tried to stay united as we have to do with the new coach.”
Tiredness
“I think it’s inevitable, it has been an exhausting season but we didn’t come here for vacation, we are here to lift the Inter brand high.”
Chivu
“Certainly, the coach has been here for a very short time, we will have time to work with him from next season. At the moment there is no time and so he is working on the minds, he entered the locker room with determination and we are very happy with him.”

Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac has pointed out how the high temperatures recorded at the Club World Cup favor South American teams.
Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac has told the press how the high temperatures recorded in the United States at the Club World Cup favor South American teams, which are more accustomed to these temperatures compared to European teams.

Borussia Dortmund, Kovac complains about high temperatures in this Club World Cup: “Southern clubs have a great advantage due to the conditions, the heat”
We are only in the early stages of this Club World Cup, and there are already complaints about the high temperatures recorded in the stadiums hosting this American event. The coach who complains the most is a coach who trains a European team, from the northern part of the old continent: we are talking about Niko Kovac, coach of Borussia Dortmund, who pointed out how this favors South American teams to the press.
It all stems from the opening match against Fluminense of Thiago Silva, which ended in a draw, with scorching temperatures that the Brazilian club and players are always used to, and here is his statement: “In this tournament, we see that the southern clubs (America, ed.) have a great advantage due to the conditions, the heat”.
Even for the next match against the South Africans of Mamelodi Sundowns, temperatures of around 32°C are expected in Cincinnati, a temperature that is absolutely unbearable for a team from northern Europe: “For the spectators in the stadium, it’s incredibly hot. So you can imagine how difficult it is for the players: it’s 32 degrees in the shade, imagine with strong sun, inside the stadium, you have to add 3, 4 or even 5 degrees”.
However, Kovac is keen to point out that this is not an excuse, but rather an objective fact: “These are not excuses, it’s just an explanation. It’s very difficult, especially for Europeans. For players from the south, it’s easier, because they are used to these temperatures”.
