On the verge of a playoff showdown, for which the opponent is not yet known, yesterday it was announced that the Granata club has filed an appeal, arguing that the decision of Serie B to postpone the relegation playoffs directly affects the criteria for enrollment and admission to the next championships.

It is not a lawsuit, but an appeal that urges the CONI’s College of Guarantees to address the situation before June 10.

The ownership, led by Iervolino, appears determined and ready to take to the streets to resolve the situation. As evidenced, yesterday some fans displayed a banner in front of the league headquarters with the words: “Salerno does not give in”.

Even the players seem ready to do their part, even off the field: some of them, usually called up by their respective national teams like Hrustic and Lohoshvili, seem willing to forego international duty to help the team in the playoff battle.

Now, as then, there is a strong desire for football and a longing to return to Serie A. The call made by Inzaghi has been embraced by the fans, especially in yesterday’s match, which was the first high-profile game of the season. While the Rosanero fans hoped for a win, a draw is enough to strive for a place at the top of the table, aiming for promotion. It is hoped that the Barbera stadium will witness similar crowds in the future, making the Zamparini-Guidolin era not seem so distant.
