“Torino, 3 giugno 2025 – Juventus Football Club S.p.A.

Roma-Como ends with a score of 1-0, thanks to a great play started by a surgical pass from Soule’. The Giallorossi catch up with Milan and Napoli.

The team coached by Gian Piero Gasperini manages to secure 3 points against a tricky Como this season, but with few praises today.

Soule was dominant on the field, along with a very attentive Roma defense. Among the best performers were also Wesley, N’dicka, and Svilar.

Como was less impressive. Valle was careless against Wesley and Soule, Nico Paz defended well throughout the match, and Addai struggled, exiting early due to injury. A mix of negativity, due to the great caution of the Giallorossi.

Roma-Como: player ratings

SVILAR 6.5 – Confident, decisive, ready. A guarantee now, not by chance he is the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded in the current Serie A (8 goals conceded and 7 clean sheets, second only to Provedel with 8).

MANCINI 6.5 – Attentive to the opponent’s counterattacks. A pity for the yellow card received after a foul on Baturina.

N’DICKA 7 – If Nico Paz didn’t score, much of the credit goes to him. 1 dribble suffered, 6 duels won, and 3 defensive clearances. A wall.

HERMOSO 6.5 – Great improvement under Gasperini, thanks to his defensive and offensive contribution tonight (2 key passes, 8 recoveries).

WESLEY 7.5 – Awarded Man of the Match at the end of the game. 13 defensive contributions, great defensive awareness, and dangerous in attack (2 key passes and a goal scored). Decisive.

KONÈ 6.5 – Excellent for the balance of the Giallorossi. Bites into opponents with pressing and maintains possession of the ball well.

CRISTANTE 6.5 – Similar story for the former Atalanta player, who had also found an excellent goal but was in an offside position. Unlucky.

RENSCH 6.5 – Another excellent performance from the Dutchman. Second start in the league, he could find more space from now on. Versatile.

SOULE 6.5 – Great offensive solutions, excellent dribbling, and enchanting to watch. His assist was crucial, with the play starting from him, but too many balls lost. Creative.

FROM 82′ BAILEY N/A

PELLEGRINI 6 – Not a standout in the game, but as usual, he fought hard. Gladiator.

FROM 72′ EL SHAARAWY 6 – Tries to contribute to the offensive play, but the result remains unchanged.

FERGUSON 6 – Great contribution on the field, connects well with teammates. Too closed down by Ramón and Kempf.

BUTEZ 6 – Not at fault for the goal and not called into action too often. Among the least guilty.

SMOLČIĆ 6 – A performance without particular praise or criticism.

RAMÓN 6.5 – Attentive throughout the game, not at fault for the conceded goal. Without him and Kempf, the result would have been wider.

KEMPF 7 – Many duels won, many defensive clearances, and a significant defensive contribution. If Ferguson didn’t score, much of the credit goes to him.

VALLE 5 – Struggled against Wesley and Soule, lost his mark on the Brazilian for the goal, with the ball passing right under the Spanish player’s legs.

DA CUNHA 5.5 – Insufficient performance from the midfielders, along with Caqueret. The Giallorossi midfield press was too much to handle.

CAQUERET 5.5 – A similar story to Da Cunha. Substituted early, with Posch coming on for him.

FROM 64′ POSCH 6 – Precise in passing and attempted 3 shots, only one on target. Good in defense.

ADDAl 5 – Blocked by the Roma defense, substituted early due to an injury suffered during the 1-0 goal.

FROM 64′ J. RODRIGUEZ 6 – Did not contribute significantly, also hindered by the defensive block of Roma. Good in passing.

BATURINA 6 – Excellent in the dirty work for the team and in ball recoveries, but completely blocked in attack.

FROM 79′ KÜHN N/A

DIAO 6 – Substituted in the 37th minute, the Senegalese player had started the game well.

DOUVIKAS 5 – Many balls lost and very few duels won. Too much in difficulty.

NICO PAZ 5.5 – Apart from a few glimpses, very below par today. Too closed down by N’Dicka.

Roma, Gasperini: “No Scudetto, but the boys give their all”

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini had the opportunity to comment on the 1-0 victory against Como. Here are the words of the coach.

Roma

Roma, Gasperini’s words

“Soule played a great game. Tonight it’s hard to make distinctions in performance, but for both teams. Both wanted to win, and we were good, always very precise. This is our best home game so far.”

Out of 15 games, now they have conceded 8 goals in the league.

“Since the beginning of the year we have been solid. When we lose, it’s always by a narrow margin, but for a few games now we have also started creating several chances. Tonight we also produced a lot, playing with a lot of quality. Would I sign for fourth place? I never sign, but I would be happy. At this moment, what interests me is that these types of games are played, the fans have an incredible passion, there is contagious enthusiasm and we were missing this at home.”

Would you sign for fourth place?

“I never sign, but I would be very happy. Then there is no limit to the best and the worst, but more than the final result, what interests me is that these types of matches are played. The fans have an incredible passion, we feel it when you win and play well, there is extra enthusiasm. We were missing that at home. The results will come, but this must be our goal.”

The coach concluded

“There are better-equipped teams, yes. But these guys give their all and it’s not certain that players who are better on paper will have the same spirit and availability. We are a good team, playing against us is not easy for anyone.”

Como, Fàbregas: “Mancini? Just a normal chat with him. Diao? Groin pain”

The Como coach, Cesc Fàbregas, has had the opportunity to comment on the 1-0 defeat against Roma. Here are the words of the coach.

Como

NICO PAZ E MILE SVILAR ( FOTO DI SALVATORE FORNELLI )

Como, Fàbregas’ words

“I saw a physical team, something we don’t have. When you play like that, either you play football and keep the ball on the ground to play or it’s difficult. I am proud to play, I think it’s a small goal. But congratulations to Roma, they have a very strong player like Soulé, a great player of the future. Let’s enjoy him in Italy, he will be of the highest level and he made the difference.”

Where does Nico Paz need to improve?

“Yes, he had a fever for 3 days, we forced him and we don’t have many people available. But these are games where either you go straight to goal or you don’t: whoever wins more duels normally wins this game. Today they won more, Italian football is the league where you play less, because there are so many duels and fouls. Today the referee let go a little more and that’s where we can improve.”

Addai got injured on Wesley’s goal action…

“No, I think he got injured in that same play. I’m seeing it more clearly now, it’s difficult for a player, he has to be extremely honest. 99.9% wouldn’t kick the ball out, it’s right that they keep playing. We didn’t expect anything from VAR.”

What kind of attitude do you expect from the Senegal NT coach when he has to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations? And how is Diao?

“He injured his hamstring making that run to goal. I spoke to him post-match and often we coaches can’t be too honest, I try to speak with passion and I am a big fan of the National Team. I hope they all go. I asked as a favor for a bit of common sense, not to take him because in 8 months he played 3 games, half and half. He just returned and now he’s injured again. If he leaves, we pay the salaries and we end up with a player out. The coach’s response? If he doesn’t go with them, he won’t go to the World Cup. And it was unpleasant. If a player plays with fear at 20 years old with a career ahead, it’s a mistake.”

You seemed a bit nervous, upset at a certain point in the match. Then at the end of the match, you went to talk directly to Gianluca Mancini. Can you tell us what you said and what made you angry?

“No, it’s okay, come on, it’s not a problem. I always try to speak with respect and attention. It was an honest chat, he said his piece, I said mine. From my point of view, I know there’s cunning, I know there’s experience. We all want to win in football. I told him: look, that guy is 20 years old and you’re trying to do that, he surely looks at you and wants to learn from you. Maybe today he goes home thinking he expected a bit more in terms of attitude, in terms of words on the field, of provocations. It was a very normal football chat that sometimes is good for me and good for him.”
