At Roma, work is underway to give coach Gasperini a squad that suits his style of play. Many players are ready to leave, including Saud…

It is, and will be, busy days for Florent Ghisolfi, technical director of Roma. The task is to be able to give the new coach Gian Piero Gasperini a complete squad that fits his style of play and can compete for a place in the Champions League, a fundamental goal for the former Atalanta coach.

Many roles and areas need to be rebuilt, especially the left and right wings. Gasp has always had players with strength, intensity, and power to handle the tough workloads of the Piedmontese coach. On the left, at least one signing will be necessary since Angelino seems to be heading to Saudi Arabia and Salah-Eddine needs to be evaluated.

The real investment needs to be made on the right, which has been without a true owner for too long. Saelemaekers has returned to Milan and it is unlikely that Roma will try to negotiate due to the high valuation by the Rossoneri. Celik has found his place as a right-hand man and Saud Abdulhamid is not yet ready for such stages. Only Soulé would remain, but he would be wasted in that position, forced to cover both phases.

There will be a meeting with the Saudi winger to decide his future. In fact, as reported by Il Tempo, the former Al Hilal player is unlikely to stay at Roma and is expected to go out on loan. A meeting is scheduled for next week to make the necessary assessments. This season, Saud has only played 412 minutes, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Too little for a player who, especially in defense, has many gaps.
