Spezia, aiming to attempt promotion to Serie A again next season, is considering bringing back Samuel Mulattieri, but the decision will be made in August.
Spezia, looking to attempt promotion to Serie A next season as well, is considering bringing back Liguria’s Samuel Mulattieri, one of the key players from Sassuolo’s successful season, to replace Pio Esposito.
Spezia, seeking reinforcements in attack after Pio Esposito’s return to Inter: considering Mulattieri from Sassuolo, decision to be made in August
Spezia, after the disappointment of missing out on promotion in the last round against Cremonese, wants to try again next year. But many players have already left or are leaving, one of them has already left, like Francesco Pio Esposito who has returned to Inter for the Club World Cup, and also Salvatore Esposito could leave as well. So, the Ligurian club is looking for suitable replacements for the confirmed coach Luca D’Angelo: one of them could be Samuel Mulattieri from Sassuolo.
In the triumphant journey that brought the Emilian neroverdi back to Serie A, Mulattieri was one of the main protagonists, scoring 9 goals in the last season. Furthermore, his professional football career began in La Spezia, debuting in Serie B, so he would be well received by the Aquilotta fans.
It remains to be seen if Sassuolo is interested in letting him go, considering they paid Inter 6 million euros two summers ago to acquire his contract. But certainly, returning to Liguria, he would be a guaranteed starter, while in Emilia it is not so certain. Everything is postponed to August, as it all depends on the market choices, especially incoming ones, that Sassuolo will make.
We will see what happens starting from July 1st, when the transfer market officially begins. We will see how the Ligurians will move, but it is certain that the team will be highly competitive to pursue the Serie A dream that faded away in the last decisive match.

Palermo, 6 players not called up for the Chatillon retreat: special preparation for them in Torretta
The Palermo has announced that 6 players of the Rosanero team will not take part in the pre-season retreat that will take place in Chatillon in a few days under the orders of coach Filippo Inzaghi. A location that usually hosts many teams, especially in the 90s Juventus, managed by Inzaghi. But already a screening is being made on the squad that the former Pisa coach will rely on during the season, deciding already who does not fit into his plans.
The non-called up players are: Alessio Buttaro, Dimitrios Nikolaou, Valerio Verre, Francesco Di Mariano, Roberto Insigne, and Dario Saric. These names are not surprising, as many, in recent days, have already been mentioned as ready to leave the Rosanero for other teams, especially Nikolaou who has a lot of market interest, as well as Verre, Insigne being followed by Pescara and Saric ready to leave Sicily, possibly to Modena if the Palumbo deal materializes.
For them, a special preparation conducted by the Rosanero staff is planned in Torretta, while waiting for a solution to be found for them.
This decision is the first step in already selecting the squad that Inzaghi will have at his disposal, but there could also be further cuts in Chatillon, as the Rosanero coach will assess some players who are on the fence to determine if they fit his plans or if they too will have to leave Sicily for other destinations.
