Arsenal is very close to closing the deal for Christian Mosquera, a Spanish defender born in 2004, also linked to Inter and Milan.
Arsenal aims for Christian Mosquera
Arsenal is buzzing in the market, engaged in crucial negotiations to secure a new reinforcement in defense. According to the latest rumors, the London club is very close to acquiring Christian Mosquera, a young central defender from Valencia. The Spaniard is one of the main targets of the Gunners, who are working intensively to finalize the deal with the bats.
The discussions involve not only the Spanish club but also the player’s entourage, signaling Arsenal’s intention to strengthen its defensive line. Mosquera, with only one year left on his contract, was also followed by Inter and Milan, but the Londoners’ acceleration seems to be decisive.
New signing on the way for the Gunners
The possible arrival of Mosquera would represent an important piece for Arsenal’s project. With his young age and potential, the defender could bring freshness and solidity to the English club’s backline. Valencia, on the other hand, cannot push too hard on the offer, considering their financial needs and the possibility of losing the young prospect on a free transfer.

Inter always keeps an eye on the market and is considering a defensive move. The management wants to seize the best opportunity.
Francesco Acerbi is likely in his final season with Inter. The center-back has made his mark in recent years under Inzaghi’s guidance and has also started off on the right foot with Chivu. However, the former Lazio center-back will turn 38 next February, and Inter needs to find a replacement.
In the summer, a central defender was sought for a long time, but in the end, no one else arrived except Akanji to replace the departure of Pavard. The profile of Giovanni Leoni was considered, but deemed too expensive by the management. There was strong interest in De Winter, but Milan moved first, and an attempt was made for Badè from Sevilla, who, however, preferred Bayer Leverkusen.
Therefore, the club was left empty-handed and instead of spending money on any player, they preferred to wait for a thoughtful purchase. Piero Ausilio and Baccin are working to sniff out new market opportunities and seem to have already marked down some names in their notebook.
Inter, defensive names: Upamecano, Kim, and Guehi
The first name to pay attention to is that of Dayot Upamecano. The Frenchman’s contract expires in June 2026. The relationship between the player and Bayern Munich is excellent, and it is unlikely the center-back will refuse a contract extension. However, at the moment, the Bavarian club has not yet offered any extension to the former Leipzig player, and Inter has moved to inquire.

Staying in the Bayern world, another name that interests Inter is Kim. The South Korean center-back is not performing at his best in Germany and is often benched. The former Napoli player is considering a possible departure, and the Nerazzurri are also exploring this opportunity. However, the player is not in the final year of his contract and has a transfer fee of around 30 million euros. It would be a significant investment for a 28-year-old defender, but one who has proven to make a difference in Serie A.

Lastly, the last profile that intrigues Inter is that of Marc Guehi. The English national team center-back has announced that he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of this season, when his contract expires. Last summer, he was very close to a move to Liverpool, which fell through due to details. The player’s priority is to stay in the Premier League, making a step up to a top club, but at the moment, there are no agreements with any club. However, Italy is not ruling it out, and the Nerazzurri club remains at the door.

The Inter Milan team is always on the lookout for opportunities in the transfer market and is currently exploring options to strengthen their defense. With Francesco Acerbi likely entering his final season with the club, the management is keen on finding a suitable replacement for the veteran center-back.
During the summer transfer window, the club pursued several defensive targets but failed to secure any signings apart from Akanji. Players like Giovanni Leoni and De Winter were considered, but deals did not materialize. As a result, Inter has decided to be patient and make a strategic acquisition rather than rushing into a transfer.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio and technical director Baccin are actively scouting for potential targets, with three names standing out in particular: Dayot Upamecano, Kim, and Marc Guehi.
Upamecano, currently at Bayern Munich, has a contract expiring in 2026. Despite his good relationship with the club, negotiations for a contract extension have not yet begun, prompting Inter to inquire about the French defender.
Kim Min-jae, another player of interest, has struggled to secure a regular spot at Bayern and might be looking for new opportunities. Although he is not a free agent, his price tag of around 30 million makes him a valuable investment.
Lastly, Marc Guehi, who will be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season, is also on Inter’s radar. The English center-back had come close to a move to Liverpool last summer but now remains open to offers from other leagues, including Serie A.
As Inter continues its search for defensive reinforcements, these three players have emerged as potential targets to bolster the team’s backline.
