Napoli, it happened today: Barrow responds to Manolas

Today, 5 years ago, Napoli visited Bologna for the 33rd matchday of Serie A 2019/2020. Two teams facing each other without specific objectives.
With 6 matches remaining, the teams coached respectively by Mihajlovic and Gattuso, do not have specific goals. The Rossoblu are practically safe, while the Partenopei are certain of the Europa League, obtained with the victory of the Coppa Italia.
The hosts want to return to winning at home, which has been missing since February 1, 2020 (2-1 against Brescia). The guests, on the other hand, want to honor the championship in these final matches.
Bologna-Napoli, July 15, 2020
Only 7 minutes pass and the first goal of the match arrives: the guests unlock it thanks to Manolas. The former Roma defender scores a header from a corner kick by Politano, anticipating Tomiyasu. Shortly after, Manolas even comes close to scoring a brace, again with a header from a corner kick.
Bologna then finds the equalizing goal, with a header goal by Mbaye, who, however, has his right arm in an offside position: goal disallowed. In the second half, the home team starts well, although Gattuso’s team would like to try to close it out: Lozano, after a nice dribble, comes close to scoring the second goal.
However, the second half is practically dominated by Bologna. Another disallowed goal arrives, this time for Palacio: the VAR cancels everything for a half-shoulder offside. 10 minutes before the final whistle, the hosts finally manage to equalize with Barrow. The Gambian striker’s great form continues: he has scored 5 goals in the last 6 matches.
In the end, Bologna almost score three times for a 2-1 lead: first with Palacio, then with Barrow, and finally with Danilo who hits the crossbar with a great long-range shot. It ends 1-1, a match in which the hosts would have deserved all three points.

Milan, good news from Nkunku: the Frenchman returns to the group

The Fiorentina has just released a statement regarding the situation at the Franchi stadium. Following the announcement from the Municipality of Florence, the club has issued a response.
New developments on the construction site at the Franchi stadium after the Municipality announced further delays and that the works will not be completed in time for the club’s centenary.
Fiorentina, Franchi Stadium: The Club’s Statement
ACF Fiorentina, in response to today’s statement from the Municipality of Florence regarding the Franchi Stadium, clarifies that the Municipality has provided information in recent days regarding the progress of the works and the delays that are already expected by the end of 2026.
The Club can only express discontent and surprise considering the cooperation always shown, such as leaving the stadium free from the end of May to mid-September this year.
Further possible activities for the second part of the works have also been outlined, which at the moment could still involve several months away from the Franchi. Scenarios that can only generate concern and disappointment. In light of the latest information provided, as already communicated to the Municipality, the conditions for any involvement of Fiorentina in the project will need to be re-evaluated.
There is still great regret for not having been able to complete the New Franchi with previous interlocutors, which in 2019, President Commisso wanted to realize at his own expense, only to realize that this was never allowed.
The Franchi Stadium, already a construction site since February 2024, will remain so with all the economic and sporting difficulties that follow, certainly throughout the 2026/27 season, the year of the centenary.
