Francesco Camarda introduces himself to Lecce fans. The striker, who arrived in this transfer window from Milan, spoke at a press conference.
Below is an excerpt of the words from the 2008 class player who joined Lecce from Milan on loan with a buy-back option for Lecce and a counter-option in favor of the Rossoneri.
Lecce, Camarda’s words
How would you describe yourself as a footballer?
“I am a center-forward, I like to attack the space. I am working to improve my game with my back to the goal and outside the box. I would describe myself as a serious, determined guy who tries to grow every day.”
What kind of opportunity does Lecce represent for you? Are you thinking about the National Team?
“It is an important opportunity. Lecce believed in me, and I want to repay every minute with dedication. If I do well, everything else will follow. Right now, I am focused on working hard to help the team achieve its goals.”
How do you evaluate your journey so far?
“I feel like I am growing. The numbers are pleasing, but for a striker, teammates also matter: you can’t score alone. I am calm, I don’t feel pressure, and I continue with humility.”
Have you had the chance to speak with the coach?
“Yes, we have already started to get to know each other. There is also harmony with my teammates; they have been welcoming. The atmosphere is positive, and I am sure we will become a close-knit group.”
Have you decided on your shirt number?
“Not yet. We will evaluate together, even with the teammates, once the retreat is over.”
A message to the fans?
“I invite them to stay close always. I promise maximum effort. We want to give emotions and satisfaction.”
Did you receive advice before choosing Lecce?
“My family is my point of reference. Then I also heard from former teammates and coaches, but the final decision was mine. When I felt the trust of Lecce, I had no doubts.”
What do you look for in your strike partners?
“Nothing in particular, I know they are all valid players. I expect team spirit, a willingness to sacrifice for each other. The rest will come with hard work.”
That goal in the Champions League, what emotions did it leave you with?
“Even though it was disallowed, it is a special memory. It motivated me even more; it is a push that I carry inside every day.”

What will it be like to face Milan in your first game at the Via del Mare?
“It will be a great emotion, but I will only focus on doing well for Lecce. I want to start on the right foot in front of our fans.”
How do you see the panorama of young players in Italy?
“Unfortunately, many young players struggle to find space. Here in Lecce, however, there is confidence in young players, and the work is good. It is a perfect environment to grow.”
Do you have a personal goal in terms of goals?
“I have one, but I prefer not to say it. I will reveal it only at the end of the season.”
How do you spend your free time at this age?
“Calmly. Football is everything to me; I try to focus on this dream every day.”
Are you thinking about how to celebrate your 18th birthday?
“I haven’t thought about anything yet, but scoring between the two games close to my birthday would be the best gift.”
When did you find out about Lecce’s interest, what was your reaction?
“I knew it was the right place for me. Director Corvino spoke clearly to me; he conveyed enthusiasm and a plan. It was decisive.”
What impact did the move from Milan to Lecce have?
“Milan was fundamental for my growth, but now I am focused only on Lecce. It is a new challenge.”
What kind of relationship do you imagine with Krstovic?
“I will be available to everyone. I have respect for Nikola and every teammate. The team matters; the relationship will be based on work and respect.”
Is there a goalkeeper you would like to score against?
“To all those I will find in front of me. Every goal counts; I will try to always be dangerous.”
How is your bond with your family?
“Very strong. They have always supported me, even making sacrifices. The fact that they will also follow me to Lecce gives me even more strength.”
How are you experiencing the transition to the professionals?
“I am trying to adapt quickly. Serie C is tough physically, but Serie A is another world technically. Training against defenders like Baschirotto will help me grow. At Milan, I was already learning a lot from people like Tomori and Gabbia. Training at a high level makes a difference.”

Cremonese-Udinese ends 1-1, last match of the seventh day. Terracciano’s goal in the first half was answered by Zaniolo’s first goal in the league.
Closing the seventh day of Serie A is Cremonese–Udinese, Monday’s postponement. A match between two teams that started well in the league but have not found a win for several games.
Both coaches focus on quality: Nicola lines up Vandeputte and the attacking duo Bonazzoli-Vardy, with the Englishman making his debut as a starter, while Runjaić responds with Atta and Ekkelenkamp in midfield, Karlstrom in charge and Zaniolo as a forward alongside Bayo.

Cremonese-Udinese, first half in red-gray tones
The start is immediately favorable to the home team, who unlock the result in the 4th minute with Terracciano’s header from Vandeputte’s free-kick. The goal charges Cremonese, who dominate the first half thanks to the intensity of Bondo and the creativity of Vandeputte in midfield.
The red-grays come close to doubling their lead several times, first with Zerbin and then with Vandeputte and Bonazzoli, who hit the crossbar in the 31st minute. Udinese, on the other hand, struggles to react and ends the first half in difficulty, saved only by the opponents’ inaccuracies.
Zaniolo responds and Vardy almost scores the winning goal
In the second half, the game changes. Runjaić’s team comes back onto the field with a completely different attitude and immediately finds the equalizer in the 51st minute: Bayo serves Zanoli on the right, perfect cross and winning header by Zaniolo, scoring his first goal in Udinese colors.
The Friulians gain confidence and force Cremonese to drop back, but in the 60th minute, it’s Nicola’s team that comes very close to taking the lead again: Vardy sprints behind the defense and tries a chip shot, but Okoye does not allow it.
In the final minutes, opportunities abound on both sides: Piotrowski and Atta try for Udinese, then Vázquez hits the post with a free-kick in the 79th minute.
In the 91st minute, the last great chance falls to the red-grays: Sarmiento takes advantage of a glaring mistake by Solet, who is having an off day, and serves Vardy, who in the box gets rid of a defender and shoots practically on target but finds the decisive deflection by Kabasele, tonight the best in the Udinese defense.
The match ends 1-1, a result that satisfies neither team. Cremonese regrets the missed opportunities, while Udinese can only console themselves for the second-half reaction and Zaniolo’s excellent performance.

Serie A, weekend plagued by goal drought: negative record within reach

The 7th round of Serie A risks being remembered in history for having the lowest number of goals. There is still one match that could prevent this.
Four nil-nil draws and a maximum of three goals in a single match have characterized this round of Serie A. Little spectacle and little effectiveness, only the talents of the moment have shone.
Serie A, the latest negative record and what must happen in Cremonese-Udinese
Only nine goals in nine matches, this is the data that has surprised everyone among fans and insiders regarding the seventh round of Serie A. Four matches without goals and many teams struggling to find a way to score for several weeks.
Abroad, it is said that Serie A is the most boring championship in terms of pure entertainment, and unfortunately, this stereotype has been confirmed this past weekend.
The only hope to avoid setting a negative record and beat those belonging to the days: 9th of the 2010-2011 season, 32nd of the 2017-2018 season, and 2nd of the 2022-23 season with a total of 13 goals, is that the last match on the schedule, namely Cremonese-Udinese, records at least 4 goals to at least equal the previous negative record.
