Pisa is on the hunt for another Simeone, from father to son, just as they return to Serie A. In the meantime, they need to reach an agreement with Napoli.

The Pisa would like to get their hands on the contract of Giovanni Simeone; a son of art of that Diego Simeone so beloved and famous in Italy for having played – among other teams – precisely in Pisa but also in Atlético Madrid, Inter, Lazio, Sevilla, and Racing Club. Always the son of that Simeone who was a pillar of the Celeste (the Argentinian National Team).

Here Pisa still recalls with bright eyes the exploits of the father and now would like to repeat them with the thirty-year-old son, Giovanni Simeone, who truly carries a heavy name. The Pisans will see Serie A again after a long absence of over thirty years and they want to return not tiptoeing. The idea, in fact, is to start well and try to stay as much as possible in that dream which is the second division of the Italian Championship.

How is the negotiation between Napoli and Pisa going at the moment?

In this project of internal revolution and strengthening, the negotiation with Simeone junior is inserted, but to block the dreams of glory remains the real owner of the contract: Napoli of Aurelio De Laurentiis, who, however, would also be willing to sell the player especially following the arrival of Lorenzo Lucca.

What could somewhat dampen the enthusiasm is the economic request made by the Neapolitans who would ask for 8 million for the Argentine striker. Indeed, Pisa’s finances seem to have to settle for slightly lower figures than those confirmed by the initial offer, which was exactly halfway there.

So, there would be another half to fill or to smooth out to reach an agreement that can satisfy or at least not displease either of the two clubs.

Let’s say that to help this possible negotiation towards a positive outcome, there could be a clause in Giovanni Simeone’s contract that would see a share from the sale of Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese to Pisa and that could, therefore, help raise the stakes to close with a yes from Napoli.

Meanwhile, Giovanni seems to be very happy to wear the shirt that belonged to his father in the past.
