Lazio, Sarri: “Comparisons with the past are pointless: I want to give my all”

The new coach of Lazio, Maurizio Sarri, commented on Mattia Zaccagni during the presentation press conference.
Lazio, Sarri talks about individuals
During the presentation press conference, Maurizio Sarri made some comments about the players in the Biancocelesti squad. The Tuscan coach also drew comparisons between the current squad and the one he previously coached during his first experience on the Lazio bench. Here are his words.
“Tavares and Dele-Bashiru are two books to write. Nuno tactically is better than I thought, his past at Benfica must have left him with something important, while Dele is a strong boy who, if he manages to learn some movements, can give us a great hand. We would have liked to work on some alternative formations as well, but the risk of confusing the group was too high. My first Lazio had a much higher level of experience, there we went to collect, while here we have to sow.”
“Comparisons with my first experience are useless, it was a completely different situation, probably this is a team that, purely technically, has something less, probably has something more in terms of physicality. I feel the obligation to give everything.”

Maurizio Sarri then commented on the possibility of choosing a captain other than Mattia Zaccagni, who was promoted as the leader of the Biancocelesti last season by Baroni. He also had words of praise for the young Danish defender, Provstgaard.
“Zaccagni? If the team wants it, absolutely yes. Provstgaard has a great work ethic and can grow a lot.”

No good news for Cagliari of Pisacane, who is coming off a home defeat against Bologna: injury for a defender.
The Sardinians are preparing for the next league challenge against Hellas Verona. However, the coach must deal with physical problems affecting a key player for him: Yerry Mina. The Colombian suffered an injury in the match against Bologna in the last round and is now working separately to recover. His condition will be evaluated ahead of the next league match.

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
