Rome between Gasperini’s revolution and the market: farewell to Pellegrini and possible arrival of Sancho, between strategies and updates on yellow-red purchases.
Just a few hours before the official start of the new era on the yellow-red side of the Capital, entrusted to the technical guidance of Giampiero Gasperini and supported by the close and wise advice of the everlasting Claudio Ranieri, everything seems to move with the usual caution, given the atmosphere that in the past has been reluctant to embrace the gene of revolution.
A revolution that, right now, will not only concern what will happen starting from 8:45 pm — when Roma, in front of its fans, will officially start the new Serie A season together with Bologna — but will also keep a vigilant eye on the market front. The yellow-red executives, in fact, were taken by surprise by the injury of the new acquisition Leon Bailey: a case that disoriented the media, going from announcing his arrival to having to report his stop in just a few minutes. And it is precisely from this critical point that the management will have to decide whether to wait for the recovery of their investment or to dive back into the market in search of an immediate fix.
A story that hopefully will have a happy ending, and that inevitably also goes through the future of Lorenzo Pellegrini, about to become the former captain of Roma. by now, according to rumors, his adventure in yellow-red seems to be effectively a thing of the past, with the club decided not to renew his contract. A choice that marks the end of a long historical phase and, at the same time, could pave the way for new significant arrivals.
Rome, turning point on Sancho
One above all: Jadon Sancho. The Englishman, initially, seemed to have rejected the destination, despite Roma and Chelsea having reached an economic agreement. In the following hours, however, the scenario would have changed: not a definitive “no” from the player, but the weariness of Roma, which after days of waiting would have decided to turn to other targets.
A scenario that could be configured as a sort of cause-effect relationship: if the separation from Pellegrini were to materialize, the desire to reinvest the 10 million capital gain resulting from the sale of the 28-year-old midfielder could finally open the doors to the arrival of the former Borussia Dortmund winger and, hopefully, Manchester United.

Inter, treasure trove set aside for a big defensive move
Inter Eyeing Upamecano, Kim, and Guehi for Defensive Reinforcements
Visualizzazioni: 33
The Inter Milan team is always on the lookout for opportunities in the transfer market and is currently exploring options to strengthen their defense. With Francesco Acerbi likely entering his final season with the club, the management is keen on finding a suitable replacement for the veteran center-back.
During the summer transfer window, the club pursued several defensive targets but failed to secure any signings apart from Akanji. Players like Giovanni Leoni and De Winter were considered, but deals did not materialize. As a result, Inter has decided to be patient and make a strategic acquisition rather than rushing into a transfer.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio and technical director Baccin are actively scouting for potential targets, with three names standing out in particular: Dayot Upamecano, Kim, and Marc Guehi.
Upamecano, currently at Bayern Munich, has a contract expiring in 2026. Despite his good relationship with the club, negotiations for a contract extension have not yet begun, prompting Inter to inquire about the French defender.
Kim Min-jae, another player of interest, has struggled to secure a regular spot at Bayern and might be looking for new opportunities. Although he is not a free agent, his price tag of around 30 million makes him a valuable investment.
Lastly, Marc Guehi, who will be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season, is also on Inter’s radar. The English center-back had come close to a move to Liverpool last summer but now remains open to offers from other leagues, including Serie A.
As Inter continues its search for defensive reinforcements, these three players have emerged as potential targets to bolster the team’s backline.
