Inter, Chivu’s words
Following are the words of the Nerazzurri coach:
Positive news
“The team had an excellent approach to the game, showing aggressiveness with a very direct attack. The credit is all theirs and they deserve it. We need to stay calm because it’s only the first game, but I’m happy for them because they only had four weeks of work and everyone made themselves available.”
About Sucic and Barella
“I’m happy for Petar because playing the first game at San Siro is not easy, but he showed great personality and quality. He also showed great aggressiveness and had a great performance. Barella immediately made himself available to the team’s needs, for this match I had him in mind as the playmaker because I had already seen him play in Bari. I have midfielders and versatile players.”
About Diouf
“He is a midfielder and a defensive midfielder. I also wanted to reward him because he had just arrived and make him feel important, I even put him in difficulty in a role he had never played before. I don’t even know if he unpacked his bags.”
Is a five-nil debut result dangerous?
“The things I didn’t like, I would like to tell the team in private. I’m also happy we didn’t concede any goals, I’m happy with the pressure and how it was applied. I saw motivated and energized people. But the road is long and it requires a lot of work.”
Are you creating empathy with the group?
“Until I take them off for sure (laughs), it’s a job where I try to be myself, to be consistent and credible, and when needed, I raise my voice. The guys are truly great men and great athletes and sometimes they ignore my exaggerations. We have made some agreements on certain things, they still have the right motivation to compete.”
What chemistry is developing with the French players?
“I am happy with all the players of all nationalities. I’m happy for Bonny because I saw him happy as I knew him in Parma. He is an important player who will help us, I’m also happy with Marcus and he is aware that he needs to be consistent.”
Was the first game as a player or as a coach more exciting?
“With a joke, I say that I don’t remember the one as a player because of the knock to the head (laughs). In this stadium, when you enter this wonderful facility, the past as a player also comes back. But the most important thing is not me but the team. Only the players who are fundamental. I am proud and I am sure we will continue to work well.”

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
