Atalanta: Lookman trains separately, only therapy for Scamacca

Fiorentina awaits Napoli, the Champion of Italy, for the early kickoff of the third round of Serie A: kick-off at the Franchi tomorrow evening at 8:45 PM.
Pioli has carefully prepared for the challenge against Conte’s Napoli, and the curiosity lies in whether the former Milan coach will field the heavy duo of Kean-Piccoli up front. Moise‘s performances in the national team, where he played alongside Retegui, suggest that we might see a heavy attacking pair in purple as well.
Adding weight to this hypothesis is the injury of Gudmundsson with his national team last week, which should make him available only for the bench.
Piccoli is expected to be preferred over Dzeko, as he has trained at Viola Park over the past 15 days, while the Bosnian has been a key player for his national team, scoring twice in World Cup qualifiers and might need a rest, at least from the start.
The other, currently less attractive option, is the inclusion of Fazzini, who could disrupt the Italian defense more but have less impact in attack.
Fiorentina, Nicolussi Caviglia towards debut?
In midfield, it seems almost certain that Nicolussi Caviglia will debut from the start, as Pioli’s words in the press conference suggest: “He has worked very well, he seems to be in good condition even though he knew he had to move to another team. He seems like a top player in a three-man midfield, a good signing for us.”

To accompany the former Venezia player, Fagioli will surely be there, as Pioli holds him in high regard: “I expect a lot from him: he is a player with technical quality and game vision. He can control the tempo, make runs, and has a good shot. He can play simple but also has a penetrating pass. In Turin, he struggled to find his position, but tomorrow he will have different tasks, it will be a different game.”
To complete the midfield trio in the hypothetical 3-5-2 of Fiorentina, Mandragora is favored over Sohm.

Udinese, the Okoye case: the Public Prosecutor continues to investigate

The betting case involving Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is still ongoing, as he has been called to trial for fraud by the Udine Prosecutor’s Office.
In the last Serie A match against Cremonese, Maduka Okoye returned to defend the goal for Udinese. After serving a two-month suspension for the betting case, the Nigerian goalkeeper returned to the field immediately reclaiming his starting position, which had been filled by Razvan Sava in his absence.
However, the ordeal related to the betting case in which he is involved does not seem to be entirely over. The Udine Prosecutor’s Office has not closed the case. Instead, they have issued a decree summoning him to stand trial for aggravated fraud, with the first hearing set for May 13, 2026.
Udinese, Okoye case: an update on the investigation
The investigation revolves around an abnormal flow of bets related to the match played between Lazio and Udinese on March 11, 2024, during which Okoye was booked for time-wasting in the 63rd minute.
In the realm of sports betting, the yellow card shown to the Udinese goalkeeper, which had odds of eight times the stake, generated total winnings of over €120,000, most of which were recorded in the province of Udine.
According to the Udine Prosecutor’s Office, Okoye had arranged the action with a Friulian entrepreneur, the owner of a pizzeria, in a meeting prior to the match against Lazio. Two other entrepreneurs are also implicated, who, upon learning of this insider information, also placed bets. The three of them earned a total of over €28,000.
The injured party is said to be the company Snaitech, which suffered an economic loss as a result of the abnormal betting activity. Now Okoye must prepare to face the trial while Udinese, whose club is not under investigation, waits for further developments.

Alberto Gilardino on the eve of Pisa-Milan: “Pride and humility to challenge the top of the class at San Siro. Allegri has given identity and strength to Milan.”
Tomorrow at 20:45 the match between Pisa and Milan will kick off, valid for the eighth round of the Serie A 2025/2026.
In this regard, the coach of the Tuscan team, Alberto Gilardino, who after 34 years will return to challenge Milan at San Siro, participated in the usual press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match.
Here are his words:
About the match his Pisa must play
“To take the field tomorrow night at San Siro, we will naturally need sporting happiness but also great pride in being able to play against the top of the class, to play in that stadium as a newly promoted team. We are well aware of the pitfalls of the game and the strength of Milan. We will need great humility in defense, sacrifice from everyone, but awareness and personality when we have the ball.”
About Milan
“We will have responsibility on the field, great personality with the ball, and great sacrifice in defense. Nothing is impossible in football. We know who we are playing against, we know the strength, skill, and technical qualities of the team we are facing, but at the same time we must try to play on every field trying to take the points. This is essential to me in the context of a season and the preparation of match weeks.”
About Allegri
“Milan is a team that has regained great defensive compactness, the credit goes to coach Allegri. He has given a solid mentality by enhancing the qualities of the individuals, he has individuals who make a difference, in technical quality, speed, and physicality, but being able to give such a mentality so quickly was a great merit of the coach. Mister Allegri is a reference point, he is a very prepared coach, who has coached top clubs, he is a winning coach who has managed to immediately give an identity to this Milan, it was his strength.”
About his years at Milan
“Milan was an important part of my career and my life, where I experienced beautiful moments with that team and with coach Ancelotti with whom we won everything. It is a beautiful and exciting memory of those seasons and of my growth in those years after Parma. It is normal to find him again as a coach, against, it has a particular effect, but it is always a pleasure to return to that stadium, for me one of the most beautiful in the world, and it always has a certain effect.”
