Noa Lang is waiting for his chance: Conte has protected him in the first outings, but with a tour de force on the horizon, the Dutchman is ready to explode.

In Naples, the anticipation is growing for tomorrow’s match against Manchester City. Antonio Conte’s team is perfect in the league after three games and now wants to start the European journey on the right foot.

The Salento coach seems determined to continue with the 4-1-4-1 formation proposed at the beginning of this season, with four midfielders on the field together to not give reference points. This formation has so far somewhat penalized Noa Lang, who arrived in the summer from PSV for almost 30 million euros.

The Dutch winger has not yet started as a starter: against Sassuolo and Cagliari, he came on in the second half, while in the match against Fiorentina, Conte preferred to rely on Neres on the left to contain Dodô’s speed in the final minutes.

Napoli, Lang is waiting for an opportunity

With the Champions League approaching and a busy schedule ahead, Lang’s moment seems near. Conte deliberately protected him in the first few weeks, also to dampen hasty criticism after some summer friendlies.

The coach’s confidence is not lacking: he already explained in the summer that the goal was to transform Lang into a new Kvaratskhelia, while emphasizing that it would take time. The former PSV player can become a valuable weapon for a Napoli team that has already impressed but still has many alternatives to discover.

Against City, if the game were to get complicated, Conte could rely on his freshness to try to change the momentum of the match.

Lang’s time seems imminent: it will be up to him to seize it to convince Conte and vie for a starting role in this new era for Napoli.

ACF Fiorentina, in response to today’s note from the Municipality of Florence regarding the Franchi Stadium, clarifies that the Municipality provided information in recent days regarding the progress of the works and the delays expected by the end of 2026.

The Club can only express dissatisfaction and surprise given the willingness it has always shown, such as leaving the stadium free from the end of May to mid-September of this year.

Further and possible activities for the second part of the works have also been outlined, which could still involve several months away from the Franchi. Scenarios that can only generate concern and disappointment. In light of the latest information provided, as already communicated to the Municipality, the conditions for any involvement of Fiorentina in the project will have to be re-evaluated.

There is still immense regret for not having been able to complete the New Franchi with the previous interlocutors, which President Commisso wanted to finance in 2019 but then had to realize that it was never allowed.

The Franchi Stadium, already a construction site since February 2024, will remain so with all the economic and sporting difficulties that arise, certainly throughout the 2026/27 season, the year of the centenary.
