Hypothesis of an exchange between Frendrup and Pusilli – Soccer style
Views: 113
Gasperini likes the Danish midfielder from Genoa, and to reach him the sacrificial lamb could be the young player from Roma, who would reunite with De Rossi.
Niccolò Pisilli continues to live a season with two faces. The young midfielder from Roma struggles to find space with his club but continues to impress with the Under 21 National Team.
In the last match against Poland, lost 2-1, Pisilli scored another goal for the Azzurini with a remarkable strike (a nutmeg on the defender and a volley shot on the far post). Unfortunately, his goal was not enough to avoid Italy’s defeat, but once again Pisilli proved to be one of the best in the Under 21 squad.
Yet the same midfielder struggles to carve out space and minutes in the hierarchy of Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The unyielding duo of Konè and Cristante, along with the growth of El Aynaoui and the regained form of Pellegrini, have increasingly pushed Pisilli to the sidelines. This season, between Serie A and the Europa League, he has only made five appearances.

Pisilli Has Little Space: Could He Leave in January?
At the moment, Gasperini seems to be considering other options for the Roma midfield, and Pisilli certainly starts from the back in the hierarchy of choices of the former Atalanta coach. For this reason, it is not excluded that in January Pisilli could be sacrificed as part of a swap deal to reach someone more suitable to Gasperini’s style of play.
The interest of Roma in Morten Frendrup, a Danish midfielder born in 2001 from Genoa, is not new. At Genoa since 2022, despite a season with few highlights and many shadows for the team, Frendrup has shown, as in past seasons, to be one of the best in the red and blue squad. The Danish player can play various roles in midfield, and speed and dynamism are his main characteristics.
Characteristics perfect for Gasperini’s style of play, but also for many other coaches. In fact, Inter, Milan, and Napoli have already inquired about Frendrup, but Genoa’s management values his price tag at no less than 20 million euros.
An important figure, especially in the January transfer market. According to reports from La Repubblica ed. Genova, the Roma management could consider including Pisilli himself to reach Frendrup in a potential loan swap. In Genoa, Pisilli would reunite with De Rossi, and the new Genoa coach would be happy to find the young Roma player again and could guarantee him plenty of minutes on the field, even as a starter.
