Don’t you dare look at it? – The recap of the 9th round – Soccer style
Weekly appointment with “Macché te lo guardi?”, the column by Calciostyle dedicated to Serie A Women 2025/2026. Here is the ninth matchday!
Women’s football in Italy has been gaining more and more attention in recent years, attracting the interest of millions of fans who live and breathe sports in our beloved country. Despite still being largely ignored by many, there have been several events and developments in recent seasons that have elevated women’s football to a higher level.
Compared to other European countries (especially Spain and England), the audience and interest in women’s football in Italy still have a long way to go. The performances of the Italian National Team at the European Championship in Switzerland last summer, where they reached the semi-finals, brought a lot of attention to the women’s game, but there is still much work to be done to shine a proper light on the Italian league.
Taking advantage of the irreverence of the column’s title “Macché, te lo guardi?” (Are you really not watching it?), we want to shed more light on a reality that is gaining more and more ground in our beloved country: women’s football. In the end, what matters to us Italians is simply watching and being able to comment on the game, regardless of who is playing.
Serie A Women, the ninth matchday
The ninth and final matchday of the Serie A Women 2025 has come to a close. The league table saw Juventus and Fiorentina climb to 17 points each, in second place, thanks to victories against Napoli and Como. These were significant wins considering the form of the defeated teams.

The league will now take a break for the Christmas holidays, with the return to action scheduled for the weekend of January 17-18, 2026. Exact dates and times are yet to be confirmed.

“Don’t you dare look away?” – Recap of the 8th round – Soccer style
The weekly appointment with “Macché te lo guardi?” is back, the column by Calciostyle dedicated to Serie A Women 2025/2026. Here is the eighth day!
Serie A Women, the eighth day
Eighth day of Serie A Women, which offers us the big match of the big matches: Roma-Juventus. The game at Tre Fontane gives us the pearl from the distance of the former player Bergamaschi: in the second half, Pinto sets the final result at 1-1. Como continues to surprise and soar under Sottili’s leadership, claiming their fifth victory in the championship by defeating Parma away, positioning themselves in second place alone.
Milan and Fiorentina return to victory, easily defeating Napoli and Ternana, with the latter increasingly at the bottom of the standings. On the other hand, Inter, under Piovani, crushes Genoa 5-0. At the same points with 12, there is Lazio, which beats Sassuolo away on Monday with a double by Piemonte.
After over two years, Grimshaw scores a goal: Milan catches up with Napoli
Napoli – Milan 0 – 2
65′ Grimshaw (M), 90+4′ Appiah (M)
Milan returns to victory after two rounds where they only collected two points against Como and Sassuolo. The victims of the Rossoneri are Napoli, who have had a great start to the championship. With this away victory, Milan catches up with Napoli at 13 points.
The match at Piccolo Stadium unlocks in the second half. The first half gives us only a missed goal each: for the Rossoneri, Ijeh misses the excellent cross from Kyvag from close range, hitting the post with a header. On the other side, Muth shoots high from inside the box, wasting a perfect triangle.
To break the deadlock in the second half, Grimshaw steps in. The Rossoneri captain scores a goal after an eternity: it had been 2 years and 45 days since she last found the back of the net. A perfect chip from Park to the Scottish player who beats the Napoli goalkeeper without any problems.
The Rossoneri, in the 76th minute (just over ten minutes after taking the lead), risk throwing away their good work. A lightning counterattack by Napoli with Soffia, who fouls Carcassi on the edge of the area, who was about to score. The referee initially shows a red card, but after a VAR review, changes the decision, sparing number 20: many doubts about the referee’s final decision.
To end any doubts, at the end of the game, Appiah scores her first goal in the championship. Another great assist from Park to the 2007 class, who, one on one with Beretta, doesn’t miss with a precise low shot into the bottom corner.
Pinto responds to Bergamaschi’s euro goal: the big match ends in a draw
Roma – Juventus 1 – 1
12′ Bergamaschi (R), 70′ Pinto (J)
At the Tre Fontane in Rome, the two teams that have divided all the available trophies in recent years face off. A highly anticipated match with the home team coming into the game with a significant 5-point lead over the Bianconeri, who have dropped many points at the start of the season.
Juventus sets the game on high pressure, forcing the Giallorosse to use the side lanes, relying on the speed of Pilgrim and Corelli. The opening goal of the super match is scored, of course, by a former player. Bergamaschi, from a great distance, surprises De Jong with a shot under the crossbar.
The first half in yellow tones gives way to a second half dominated by the Vecchia Signora. The changes made by coach Canzi, sitting in the stands due to suspension, change the momentum of the match, with Juventus much more in control, compared to Rossetini’s team more interested in defending the lead.
The continuous pressure from the visitors pays off in the 70th minute. A high recovery by Godo, who enters the box and, after a giant slalom to avoid the Giallorossa defense, passes to Pinto in the middle. The number 29 scores after Baldi’s excellent save that had stopped the Portuguese player’s first shot.
Roma struggles with the equalizer and fails to stop the continuous attacks of the Bianconeri, who, in injury time, have the chance for a 1-2. Krumbiegel is launched deep, catching the Giallorossa defense off guard: however, the German shoots wide one on one with Baldi.
Roma and Juventus share the points, leaving the gap between the two intact.
Inter’s avalanche: Genoa crumbles under the headed goals
Inter – Genoa 5 – 0
9′, 65′ Wullaert (I), 12′ Csiszar (I), 45+1′ Tomasevic (I), 52′ Milinkovic (I)
It’s all easy for Inter under Piovani, who thrash Genoa 5-0 at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera. It takes the Nerazzurre 12 minutes to clearly direct the game. Wullaert opens the scoring at 9′, becoming the top scorer of the championship. A scramble in the box where the former Manchester City player just has to head home with an open goal.
Three minutes later, Inter doubles the lead with Csziszar. Another header to beat Forcinella, who was not impeccable in the initial save. At the end of the first half, there is also room for Tomasevic’s goal. The second half opens with the Nerazzurri’s fourth goal scored by Milinkovic, who rises in the box to head in Tomasevic’s cross from the right.
Finally, to seal the game, around the hour mark, Wullaert strikes again with a precise shot into the bottom corner, where Forcinella can do nothing. A great victory and a confidence boost for Piovani’s team after a difficult start in Serie A in terms of results. This is only their third victory in the championship. Inter rises to 12 points, just 3 behind Como in second place.
Dark times for Genoa, who remain second to last in the standings, only ahead of Ternana.
Ready, set, go and Omarsdottir decides the game: last place for Ternana
Fiorentina – Ternana 1 – 0
2′ Omarsdottir (F)
Fiorentina under Pinones Arce bounces back after only collecting one point in the last two games against Parma and Juventus. The opponent of the day is Ternana, last in the standings with only 4 points.
Ready, set, go and Viola immediately takes the lead with Omarsdottir. Bredgaard, from the edge of the box, serves the excellent run of number 51 on the right, who one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper doesn’t miss, slotting the ball into the net with a precise low shot into the bottom corner. Ternana feels the blow and risks conceding more goals in the following minutes. Ciccioli steps up with a couple of noteworthy interventions.
The away team is more attacking in the second half, with the usual Pellegrino Cimò, the offensive spearhead of Cincotta’s team, showing more presence. Despite their efforts, the Umbrian team fails to capitalize on their chances to find the equalizer.
Ternana’s biggest chance comes in injury time. Lombardi fouls Pirone in the penalty area, the referee has no doubts and points to the spot. From the penalty spot, the same number 11 steps up but shoots high, missing the penalty just awarded.
That’s all at Viola Park, with Fiorentina rising to 14 points, catching up with Juventus. Last place for Ternana.
Kruse’s curling shot secures second place for Como
Parma – Como 0 – 1
85′ Kruse (C)
Como under Sottili flies to second place alone in the championship, narrowly beating Parma away. The match at Noce Stadium is fairly balanced with few chances on both sides.
The game is decided by Kruse with a curling left-footed shot from outside the area. The shot by the Danish player, helped by a deflection, surprises Ceasar, the Parma goalkeeper. A crucial goal for the Dane that brings Sottili’s team within 4 points of Roma, confirming their excellent season so far.
Parma sits in second-to-last place, with Sassuolo and Genoa just one point behind.
Piemonte leads Lazio: Grassadonia returns to victory
Sassuolo – Lazio 1 – 2
33′, 42′ Piemonte (L), 71′ Doms (S)
Lazio under Grassadonia returns to victory after two consecutive defeats against Roma and Inter. The usual Piemonte leads the Biancocelesti at Sassuolo.
The Italian National Team striker takes less than 10 minutes to score a personal brace and put a firm grip on the match. Around the half-hour mark, from a corner kick, Oliviero attempts a shot from outside the box, Piemonte taps in the rebound off Durand: on the rebound, however, the number 18 doesn’t miss, opening the scoring.
At 42′, she completes the brace, also due to a completely mistimed exit by the Sassuolo goalkeeper. From Monnecchi’s cross from the right, Durand flaps at the ball, leaving Piemonte with the chance to shoot into an empty net.
In the second half, Sassuolo under Spugna tries one of their usual comebacks but only manages to halve the deficit. A set-piece from Doms, who receives just outside the penalty area, sees the midfielder skip Castiello with a fake and then unleash a powerful left-footed shot that Durante cannot reach.
Despite reducing the double disadvantage, the Neroverdi fail to complete another comeback to snatch a point at home, confirming themselves second to last in the standings, level with Genoa. Lazio rises to 12 points, catching up with Inter.

Pinto responds to Bergamaschi, Tre Fontane only manages a draw – Football style
The big match in Serie A Women between Roma and Juventus ends in a draw. Roma takes the lead with Bergamaschi, but is caught up in the second half by Pinto.
It’s time for a big match at the Tre Fontane in Rome. The reigning Italian champions Juventus come to the Capital, without Canzi on the bench due to his expulsion in the last round of Serie A Women.
The Bianconeri, after a very difficult start, have picked up in the last few rounds, positioning themselves in second place, tied with Napoli on 13 points, 5 points behind the league-leading Giallorossi.
The match was fairly balanced, with Juventus closing the central spaces, forcing Roma to play on the wings. Taking advantage of this setup, the Giallorossi relied on the speed of Pilgrim and Corelli. At the first opportunity, the home team took the lead. In the 12th minute, Bergamaschi unleashed a sensational shot from long range that found the back of the net under De Jong’s crossbar, leaving the Bianconeri goalkeeper with no chance.
Juventus responded quickly. From an offensive move by the reigning champions, the Juventus bench protested for a handball by Corelli in the box. The referee was called to review the decision but upheld the initial call, deeming the handball to have occurred outside the penalty area.
The first half, aside from Bergamaschi’s goal, did not provide much excitement, with Juventus relying on early pressure to unsettle Roma and leaving the Giallorossi forwards in one-on-one situations. The Bianconeri’s most promising attacks came from the left flank, with Carbonell frequently overlapping.
In the second half, Juventus came out with a different attitude. Thanks in part to offensive changes (Cambiaghi and Vangsgaard off, Girelli and Beccari on), the Bianconeri pinned Roma in their own half, maintaining the relentless pressure from the first half and posing a threat to the Giallorossi defense with continuous crosses in the middle for Girelli.
The persistent pressure paid off in the 70th minute. Another high ball recovery for Juventus led to Pinto, who managed to score from close range after a scramble in the penalty area, equalizing the game. The Giallorossi, also affected by Rossettini’s conservative substitutions, struggled to break free from the constant pressure of the Bianconeri. The only chance came from Greggi: the number 20 broke on a counterattack, reached the byline, and crossed for Bergamaschi, who headed over.
Juventus’s late push failed to break through the wall erected by Baldi. In stoppage time, the Bianconeri had a golden opportunity with Krumbiegel: the number 27, who came on as a substitute, was sent through on goal but shot wide in a one-on-one with Baldi.
The super showdown between Roma and Juventus ends in a draw, maintaining the gap between the Giallorossi and the Bianconeri.
