Fiorentina, here is Pioli’s post: Vanoli expected in Florence

Juventus: Koopmeiners adapted in defense by Spalletti awaiting returns: Bremer towards December, Cabal progressing gradually, Kelly back after the break.

Arrived in Turin a few days ago, Luciano Spalletti immediately found himself having to manage some delicate situations, starting from the numerous absences in the defensive department, a problem that progressively spread like a disease affecting the entire team, involving almost the entire sector. Added to this was the team’s morale issue, with morale at its lowest in recent games and the inability to return to victory in the matches following the Derby d’Italia: a negative spiral that was finally interrupted only with the arrival of the former Napoli coach.

In his first league outing, Spalletti immediately presented one of his classic “Spallettate”: the choice, much discussed in recent days, to deploy Teun Koopmeiners as a left-sided central defender.

The Dutch player, despite the difficulties shown in recent games, had never been moved so far back on the field. The last real change concerned the management of Thiago Motta, who not only handed him the captain’s armband, but also used him as a central attacking reference in the absence of Vlahovic.

This time, however, Koopmeiners has been reimagined by Spalletti as a defensive player, with the task of initiating play from the back, almost like an added deep-lying playmaker, exploiting his vision and technical cleanliness.

A choice that, although not ruled out by the coach in the press conference, is unlikely to be repeated once the three absent defenders in the last matches recover: Bremer, Kelly, and Cabal.

Juventus, when will the defenders return

While waiting to return to full strength, the defensive situation remains one of the main knots to untie. Bremer, like Cabal, suffered a torn ACL last autumn, but unlike the Colombian, the former Torino player managed to play the first matches of the season, only to have to stop again.

For the Brazilian, this time, the stoppage was not caused by a recurrence of the ACL injury, but by a medial meniscus lesion of the left knee, previously operated on, for which he underwent a selective arthroscopic meniscectomy. Recovery times for this type of injury range between 4 and 6 weeks: so since he was operated on in mid-October, we are unlikely to see him before December.

Instead, the case of Cabal is much more unfortunate, who after overcoming a serious knee injury last November, stopped again after the second appearance of the season. For him, there is talk of a medium-grade hamstring injury in the right thigh, a muscular injury that requires time and gradual return. The November break could help him increase his workload and get closer to a return, but it is not certain that he will be available for the Fiorentina-Juventus match on November 22.

Regarding Kelly: The issue at hand is the least serious among the three just listed: it is in fact a muscle strain in the thigh, with tests ruling out any major injuries. The Englishman will remain out even for the next league match, but will return regularly after the next break.

Serie A: Three Decisive Matches in the 12th Round

Published

By

The 12th round of Serie A offers three very important matches: on Saturday there will be Fiorentina-Juventus and Napoli-Atalanta, on Sunday the Inter-Milan derby.

Juventus aims to continue its growth and demonstrate that it can become competitive again, and it can do so on the field against Fiorentina.

However, Fiorentina always plays with great intensity at home and wants to take advantage of the opportunity to stop Juventus and earn valuable points.

Napoli faces Atalanta in a match that could say a lot about the ambitions of both teams. The Neapolitans seek confirmation after a fluctuating period and know that a victory can put them back in the running for the top spot.

Atalanta arrives with the desire to react, and this match could be a turning point: if they play without fear, they can create many difficulties for Napoli, but another misstep could complicate their season.

The derby between Inter and Milan is the central match of the day. Inter wants to confirm its strength and use the game to extend its lead over other contenders. Milan, on the other hand, sees the derby as an opportunity to change pace, regroup, and relaunch its ambitions.

In a match like this, motivation is as important as quality. A victory in the derby can completely change the week and the mood of a team.

These three matches of the 12th round of Serie A will be very important to understand the state of the teams. Juventus must play well to come back stronger. Napoli must win to stay among the top teams. The Inter-Milan derby will be decisive: the winner gains confidence, the loser gets discouraged. In general, it will be a day of exciting matches where anything can happen.

Juventus, Vlahović doubtful for Florence: Is it David’s time?

Published

In Florence, Spalletti’s Juventus seeks answers after two consecutive draws. With Vlahović still in doubt, it could be David’s turn against Fiorentina.

With almost all international commitments completed, it is now time to focus on the resumption of the league, which will see Juventus facing a challenging match in Florence on Saturday. Spalletti’s team is searching for answers after the last two consecutive draws against Sporting Lisbon and Torino, results that have raised some questions after the victories against Udinese and Cremonese.

The Tuscan coach may also have to do without one of the players who have become central to his project: Dusan Vlahović. The Serbian striker has been a starter in all three matches under Spalletti’s management, but the injury suffered while on international duty, fortunately revealed to be just fatigue, could still force him to miss the match against his former team.

Juventus, opportunity for David in Florence?

If Vlahović is unable to play, Spalletti has several options. At the forefront are Openda and especially Jonathan David, who has not yet shown what Juventus and the fans expected from him. A significant improvement is expected from the Canadian striker, and the hope is that under Spalletti he can regain confidence, consistency, and goals.

Who knows, perhaps his rebirth could start from the match in Florence, a game that Juventus must absolutely try to win to stay close to the top of the table. Evaluations will continue on Vlahović’s condition, but one thing is certain: Juventus will need the best version of their attackers to get back on track.
