Arkadiusz Milik has not played an official match since June 2024. The return to the field of the Polish striker of Juventus remains a mystery.

524 days have passed since the last appearance on the field of Arkadiusz Milik. In a fast-paced football world, many things have changed since the last official game of the Pole.

The Juventus had just fired Massimiliano Allegri and was preparing to open a new winning cycle with Thiago Motta. Almost 2 years later, and with 3 coaches gone in Turin, there are no signs from the former center-forward of Ajax and Napoli. A career often plagued by injuries that have not given him a break.

Milik’s ordeal began in June 2024. The Polish striker was preparing to participate in the Euros with his national team, just a few days before the start of the Euros in Germany. In a friendly against Ukraine, in preparation for the international tournament, the Juventus striker suffered a problem in his left knee following a clash with Ruslan Malinovskyi, forcing him to leave the field.

Three days later, the diagnosis came from the Bianconeri club: Milik underwent arthroscopic selective meniscectomy of the medial meniscus of the left knee. He had to withdraw from the Euros and return to the field approximately a month later. Instead, from that moment on, the 1994 class has not felt like a footballer. From that moment, Milik underwent surgery again on October 3, with his return to the field postponed to January.

The problems of Vlahovic and the difficulties of the Bianconeri in scoring give hope to the fans of the Old Lady that Milik could represent the new offensive addition in the transfer market. But the physical condition of the Polish center-forward does not provide guarantees, and a new muscular injury convinces the Bianconeri to take action. In the end, Juventus manages to find their new striker on loan, Kolo Muani.

Milik: from renewing with Juventus to a new setback

In the Spring, another announcement from the Piedmontese club regarding Milik: this time it was not a new operation, but the renewal of the former Ajax player with the Bianconeri until 2027. A choice that leaves Juventus fans puzzled, but in reality, it aims to spread the player’s salary over two seasons to reduce the impact on the club’s finances. Thus, the 2024/2025 season ends without any appearances on the field for him.

In June, he returns to training with the team and is surprisingly included by Tudor in the group leaving for the Club World Cup. A mostly symbolic call-up, as the striker will not even appear on the bench. The goal is to seriously resume in the summer retreat. But here too, a few days before the Bianconeri’s training camp, news of a new setback for him arrives: a wound near the knee. Not a serious problem, but it is the last communication from Juventus regarding Milik. Currently, the player is still part of Juventus’ squad, although not listed in the Serie A and Champions League squads.

It is difficult to understand if this silence is meant to protect the player or is a way to prevent any aspects or behaviors kept by the player from coming out. If Juventus seems not to want to rely on him yet, why not reach an agreement for his resolution?

Serie A: Three Decisive Matches in the 12th Round

Published

The 12th round of Serie A offers three very important matches: on Saturday there will be Fiorentina-Juventus and Napoli-Atalanta, on Sunday the Inter-Milan derby.

Juventus aims to continue its growth and demonstrate that it can become competitive again, and it can do so on the field against Fiorentina.

However, Fiorentina always plays with great intensity at home and wants to take advantage of the opportunity to stop Juventus and earn valuable points.

Napoli faces Atalanta in a match that could say a lot about the ambitions of both teams. The Neapolitans seek confirmation after a fluctuating period and know that a victory can put them back in the running for the top spot.

Atalanta arrives with the desire to react, and this match could be a turning point: if they play without fear, they can create many difficulties for Napoli, but another misstep could complicate their season.

The derby between Inter and Milan is the central match of the day. Inter wants to confirm its strength and use the game to extend its lead over other contenders. Milan, on the other hand, sees the derby as an opportunity to change pace, regroup, and relaunch its ambitions.

In a match like this, motivation is as important as quality. A victory in the derby can completely change the week and the mood of a team.

These three matches of the 12th round of Serie A will be very important to understand the state of the teams. Juventus must play well to come back stronger. Napoli must win to stay among the top teams. The Inter-Milan derby will be decisive: the winner gains confidence, the loser gets discouraged. In general, it will be a day of exciting matches where anything can happen.

Juventus, Vlahović doubtful for Florence: Is it David’s time?

Published

In Florence, Spalletti’s Juventus seeks answers after two consecutive draws. With Vlahović still in doubt, it could be David’s turn against Fiorentina.

With almost all international commitments completed, it is now time to focus on the resumption of the league, which will see Juventus facing a challenging match in Florence on Saturday. Spalletti’s team is searching for answers after the last two consecutive draws against Sporting Lisbon and Torino, results that have raised some questions after the victories against Udinese and Cremonese.

The Tuscan coach may also have to do without one of the players who have become central to his project: Dusan Vlahović. The Serbian striker has been a starter in all three matches under Spalletti’s management, but the injury suffered while on international duty, fortunately revealed to be just fatigue, could still force him to miss the match against his former team.

Juventus, opportunity for David in Florence?

If Vlahović is unable to play, Spalletti has several options. At the forefront are Openda and especially Jonathan David, who has not yet shown what Juventus and the fans expected from him. A significant improvement is expected from the Canadian striker, and the hope is that under Spalletti he can regain confidence, consistency, and goals.

Who knows, perhaps his rebirth could start from the match in Florence, a game that Juventus must absolutely try to win to stay close to the top of the table. Evaluations will continue on Vlahović’s condition, but one thing is certain: Juventus will need the best version of their attackers to get back on track.
