Formation 4-3-1-2?
“I still don’t know, I still have time and I’m thinking about it a lot. Last week we tested this system and we can play with both formations. What matters is to give everything on the field, we need the best possible performance.”
David-Lucca partnership
“It’s one of the possibilities, they complement each other well and are learning to understand each other better. We are training during the week with the two forwards, but then there is also the option of Thauvin, Iker Bravo who played a great half-hour against Venice. It’s nice to see how my attackers are getting to know each other better and better. The partnership with Lucca and Davis is one of the possibilities I have at my disposal, and I have to reflect on all the possible options.”
About Genoa
“We are focused these days on Genoa, there are still some unknown elements due to the change in the dugout. They are playing from the back, so both we and they will want to build from the back. We know their strengths, they have players with good qualities, they have good players in the squad, and it won’t be easy to win. Of course, we analyze the opponent’s details, but we must think mainly about ourselves.”
About Kristensen
“He has been training with us for three weeks now, and I am also considering him for Sunday. Kristensen is an option, but he hasn’t played for two months, I still need to make some evaluations, whether it’s worth risking him from the start or keeping him for a spell.”
First half against Empoli
“There are moments in the game where we didn’t give everything we could, but it depends on several factors. We are human beings, we need to be always focused, but sometimes we remember more negative incidents than positive ones. We need to be able to create potential opportunities, in the second half we were brave and I liked it, many things worked, but we need to play with quality from the start, avoid mistakes, and be convinced that we can improve game after game.”
Importance of the match
“It was important to get a point after three defeats, psychologically it’s important, when you work so hard, it’s important to get points, unfortunately, we didn’t manage it in Bergamo by a small margin. Against Genoa, it will be important to get points, and if we find them, the point against Empoli will be even more important. The change of coach can give energy to Genoa, but we must follow our path, we are convinced of that.”
About Thauvin
“He had some bad luck at times in Empoli, he lost the ball a bit too much, but there’s no need to tell him because he has a lot of experience, he can evaluate his performance by himself. He’s a fighter, in Empoli he ran a lot, moved a lot, maybe even too much. Surely the injury affected him, on Sunday he has another chance to be a leader, the team is Thauvin and Thauvin is with the team, I think he will be able to put in a good performance.”
Iker Bravo and Sanchez
“Iker is a very important young player for us, with great potential, I think he is already showing what his level could be. Sanchez needs a little more time, if all goes well, we will see him at the latest in January. We have been patient, a couple of weeks more won’t change much for us, we want him back and we give him his time. He’s an important player, and we can’t wait for him to be available again.”
Bijol’s replacement
“I’m considering it, Kabasele, Giannetti, and Kristensen can all play. Ebosse is improving, there is also Abankwah who is working. I have to think about the best solution, and then we’ll see if it was the right one.”

Milan, Modric’s words
MILAN-PISA 2-2
“We expected this match, they came to defend and make our lives difficult. It’s our fault if we didn’t win: we didn’t do enough to win the game. We lost two important points today. These home games, with all due respect to Pisa, you have to win them.”
TIGHT MARKING?
“It’s fair, I have to adapt. We need to play better overall: we did some good things, created many chances but didn’t score. But I have to adapt for the rest.”
APPROACH
“We should have killed the game in the first half. We played well, but only scored one goal. We started the second half sluggishly, then there was the unfortunate penalty and goal. But that’s football, that’s why it’s beautiful: even if you’re stronger and deserve to win, anything can happen. We are sad and angry for losing two valuable points.”

We made mistakes, we need to reflect. However, Pisa played their game

AC Milan waste a great opportunity to consolidate their lead: from 1-0 to 1-2, they need the final minutes to avoid a sensational defeat. The risk of losing the top spot for Milan is now concrete.
It was supposed to be a quiet evening for the Rossoneri, an opportunity to strengthen their first place in the standings and face the midweek round with serenity. Instead, against a brave Pisa, the Rossoneri complicate their lives and have to thank Athekame, the author of the 2-2 in injury time, for avoiding an embarrassing loss.
AC Milan-Pisa 2-2: match analysis
The match started off on the right foot thanks to Leao’s goal after just seven minutes. But Allegri’s team, instead of closing the game, relaxed, showing presumption and lacking ruthlessness in front of goal. In the first half, Milan controlled but did not score, and Pisa stayed in the game.

In the second half, Gilardino played his trump card: Cuadrado’s entry changed everything. The Colombian won and scored the penalty for 1-1, his eighth goal in career against the Rossoneri, then inspired the counterattack that led Nzola to the sensational 2-1. Milan, confused and lacking clarity, tried to react, with Leao hitting the crossbar, Nkunku wasting a possible lead.
Only in injury time did the equalizer come, signed by Athekame, avoiding a heavy defeat but not erasing the bitterness. Perhaps the Rossoneri paid for their lack of respect for the opponent, just as Allegri had warned before the start of the match.
A necessary reality check, because on Tuesday in Bergamo Milan risks not showing up as the league leaders.

Crazy night at San Siro: Pisa almost pulls off the upset, Rossoneri saved in stoppage time
