At the end of Genoa-Torino, Torino coach Paolo Vanoli spoke at a press conference to comment on the match and the result.
Here is an excerpt of the Lombard coach’s words after the draw in Genoa–Torino.
Genoa-Torino, Vanoli’s words
The coach started by commenting on the result and the bitterness it leaves:
“It was a very intense game, I was aware that we would face a tough field. In the first half, we showed more clarity, although without creating real dangers. In the second half, we tried to put pressure on their defense with some crosses, but we lacked the decisive spark. If Vojvoda had managed to push that ball into the net, the game would have taken a different direction.”
It is emphasized that there seems to have been a lack of initiative. The coach explains:
“It’s not about courage. We attacked the opponents well, but in regaining possession, we were not flawless, and this is an aspect to improve. From a tactical point of view, however, the performance was positive. Now that we have achieved stability in the defensive line, it’s up to me to find the right balance among the attackers.”
It is suggested that, once a certain solidity is found, the team can experiment with different solutions. The coach responds:
“Do you think I should change the defense? I am always honest in evaluating the situation. When the performances are convincing, we continue on this path. Today we achieved a good balance; I saw our wingers not aligning with their defensive line, still managing to put them in difficulty.”
About Vlasic’s condition, he clarified:
“Physically, he was fine. My choice was dictated by the dirty nature of the game. In midfield, we worked with great intensity and I didn’t want to disrupt the balance provided by Linetty, Gineitis, and Ricci.”

Regarding the forwards, he stated:
“They need to find a better understanding. Those who came on, like Karamoh and Njie, made a positive contribution by immediately getting involved in the game.”
The work done by Sanabria in Genoa-Torino is mentioned:
“He did a remarkable job. Often, only the offensive phase is looked at, but we all knew how important these points and this game were. They worked with great dedication. I have to say that in possession, especially Adams in the first half, was a bit inaccurate. He needs to understand that football in Italy is appreciated for its tactical aspect. By working, he can improve.”
When asked if there are more regrets or anger, he responds:
“I feel neither regret nor anger. For three weeks, I have sensed in this team the approach to the competitive hunger that I desire. You can’t win based on points, but this should convince us that we are on the right path.”
Finally, faced with the idea of a mediocre team, the coach concludes:
“I am convinced that there is still ample room for growth, not only on the field. Details matter to improve. We can give more. Sometimes, when you go through a tunnel, the frenzy to get out at all costs sets in, and that’s the phase we are experiencing. Tonight, however, I saw a team determined to come out of it with all their strength.”

No good news for Cagliari of Pisacane, who is coming off a home defeat against Bologna: injury for a defender.
The Sardinians are preparing for the next league challenge against Hellas Verona. However, the coach must deal with physical problems affecting a key player for him: Yerry Mina. The Colombian suffered an injury in the match against Bologna in the last round and is now working separately to recover. His condition will be evaluated ahead of the next league match.

“Coach Pisacane’s red and blue team took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the left thigh flexors, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”
