The Genesis of a Foretold Disaster – Football Style

Despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh, Milan’s fluctuating season continues. But where should the blame be directed?
The 2-0 defeat at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus confirms an increasingly harsh verdict: Milan has not turned its season around. The spark ignited by Sérgio Conceição vanished rapidly after the Supercoppa win. However, attributing the unsuccessful season solely to a change in coaching staff would be overly simplistic. In fact, it is important to carefully analyze and allocate blame, starting from a long way back.
Milan Management: Transfer Choices
We cannot overlook the upper echelons of the Rossoneri Society, where the division of roles still appears uncertain. This has reflected in both sporting and economic results, leaving much to be desired.

The questionable market choices made by Moncada, Furlani, and Ibrahimovic, starting from the selection of the coaching staff, are evident. With names like De Zerbi, Conte, and Sarri available in the market, the trio entrusted the team to Fonseca.
This was just the beginning of the impending downsizing of the squad. The sales of Kalulu, now a key player at Juventus, and Saelemakers, a crucial element in Ranieri’s new Roma, only reinforced this policy.
Adding the choices of replacements to the aforementioned sales, the situation becomes even more perplexing. For example, the loan of Abraham after renewing Luka Jovic just a few months prior, or the financial outlay to bring Emerson Royal to Milan. The Brazilian seemed like a disaster waiting to happen, as shown by his performances in London with Tottenham.
Team Group: Between Poor Performance and Anarchy
However, the team group cannot be excluded from this turmoil. The disappointing performances of Morata and Pavlovic, whose expectations were high, weigh heavily.

Even more serious is the mutiny of technical leaders, Theo Hernandez and Leao, during Fonseca’s tenure: he is also not exempt from blame. The Portuguese coach did little to win over the dressing room, choosing a firm approach that led to his inevitable sacking.
A Fresh Start
Fast forward to the present day. The coaching change with Sérgio Conceição seemed to inject some energy into the team. However, the draw at home against Cagliari and the fortunate win against Como have resurrected the ghosts of the past.
The Milan seen against Juventus once again confirmed a team weak in character when facing challenges. Conceição’s words are telling, urging everyone to take responsibility, which continues to be lacking as January progresses.

“The red and blue team of coach Pisacane took to the field this afternoon at the CRAI Sport Center for the resumption of training: thus began the week that will lead Cagliari to the match of the 8th round of the Serie A championship against Hellas Verona, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.
The first part of the session was dedicated to ball possession exercises, followed by a series of small-sided games. To finish, an aerobic workout. Yerry Mina, who needs to recover from a strain in the muscles of his left thigh, worked individually, along with Alessandro Di Pardo, Marko Rog, Nicola Pintus, and Boris Radunovic.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 22, a new training session is scheduled for the morning.”

Milan, Pasquale Bruno criticizes Gimenez: “Those who simulate are poor players”
