Sampdoria: De Rossi as new coach, can the blucerchiati stay in Serie B? – Soccer style
The Sampdoria team is expected to face the return leg of the play-offs against Salernitana on Sunday and could have a new coach if they remain in Serie B, namely Daniele De Rossi.
Sampdoria, set to play the return leg of the play-offs against Salernitana on Sunday, could potentially have a new coach in the event of remaining in Serie B: Daniele De Rossi, despite interest from a Serie A club.

Sampdoria, in case of remaining in Serie B, could have a new coach: Daniele De Rossi
The Sampdoria team is gearing up for the return leg of the Serie B play-offs scheduled for Sunday against Salernitana, a match that could determine their entire season. The blucerchiati have the advantage of having won the first leg 2-0, but they cannot afford to make any miscalculations. If they remain in Serie B, current coach Alberigo Evani may leave Genoa, with another coach lined up to potentially replace him: the name circulating is Daniele De Rossi.
After being sacked by Roma in September of last year, the 2006 World Cup champion has been without a coaching position. He was in talks with Parma to replace Cristian Chivu, but ultimately Parma chose Carlos Cuesta as their new coach. The Sampdoria management has identified him as a potential new coach for a revival after a tumultuous season, but everything hinges on the outcome of Sunday’s match.
De Rossi is still under contract with Roma, but this is not expected to be an obstacle as he is keen to resume his coaching career immediately. There is also interest from another Serie A club, but it appears he may prefer to start anew in Genoa.
We will see what happens after Sunday, if the blucerchiati manage to secure their place in Serie B, and then there could be Daniele De Rossi on the bench currently occupied by Evani, to revive the blucerchiata team.
