Sampdoria, protest in Bogliasco against the possibility of Alessandro Messina’s reinstatement as a blucerchiato executive: statement from Sud
Despite preparing for the new season that marks redemption after the tribulations of the past one, controversy continues at Sampdoria, especially against those declared by fans as the main responsible parties for almost leading the blucerchiati to their first Serie C in history: the two executives subject to harsh criticism are Alessandro Messina and Luca Silvani, especially the former who was considered one of the main culprits of the disastrous past season.
There is a possibility for Messina to be reintegrated into the club in a few days, which has enraged the organized blucerchiata fans, including Silvani, responsible for the youth sector engulfed in the scandal involving talent Emanuele Profeti.
Here is the statement from Sud against Messina‘s reinstatement: “One of the main responsible parties for Sampdoria’s disastrous past season was undoubtedly Alessandro Messina. The hypothesis of his reinstatement in the club, in any form, on July 29, appears as a provocation, a real insult to all fans. The choices made by this individual last year showed his total inadequacy. After his departure and with the arrival of figures deeply connected to the blucerchiata history, a change of pace and rediscovered dignity was noticed. Among Messina‘s most emblematic decisions stands out the one to entrust the youth sector to Silvani, another despicable man, who today seems to be back in the running, again at the behest of Messina. We say enough. Sampdoria deserves and needs competence, respect, and sincere love for Sampdoria. Those who have already shown the opposite must stay out. We are fed up.”

Andrea Sottil revives Modena: first place, best attack and best defense in Serie B. The team dreams big after the draw with Palermo.
The most anticipated match of the eighth round of Serie B was undoubtedly between Palermo and Modena, the top two teams in the league. In the end, it did not disappoint: many chances on both sides, great intensity, and a 1-1 final score that definitely favors the canaries. With this result, in fact, Sottil’s team remains in first place, with a two-point lead over the rosanero.
However, Modena may have deserved something more, considering their performance. No matter, though, because Sottil himself spoke of an “extraordinary performance” from his players after the game, emphasizing how a result like this can only boost confidence for the upcoming matches.
After all, it’s not easy for everyone to play with such personality at the home of the team considered by many as the main favorite for promotion.
Modena, promotion target
The credit for this season’s start goes largely to Andrea Sottil, chosen in the summer to lead a completely revamped team. After a very eventful transfer window, with the sale of Palumbo to the rosanero, the third most lucrative in the history of the yellow and blue, and the farewells of veterans like Gagno, Zaro, and Duca, the management focused on experienced players like Zampano, Chichizola, Adorni, and Di Mariano, but also on promising young talents like Zanimacchia, Sersanti, and Pyyhtiä.
Sottil, coming off challenging experiences at Udinese and Sampdoria, with a brief stint at Salernitana, managed to unify the group and give a clear identity to the team. Today, Modena has the best attack and defense in the league, and above all, a newfound awareness.
It’s only the eighth round, but the feeling is clear: with Sottil, Serie A is no longer a dream but a concrete goal.
