This morning spoke Zerbin, one of the new acquisitions of Cremonese, who has had a good impact in the early days of the championship.
In the home of Cremonese there is a completely new atmosphere with the return to Serie A and the first two matches under the orders of Nicola have been incredible and full of emotions for the fans.
Now at the top of the table with a full score alongside the “big” teams like Roma, Napoli, and Juventus capable of seizing the right opportunities and consequently having a great hunger on the field.
During the day, a player was interviewed who had already made an impact with an assist against Milan and started the action that led to the goal of Sanabria against Sassuolo: we are talking about Alessio Zerbin, the ’99 class player loaned with a buyout option from Napoli in the just concluded summer window.
Cremonese, the words of Alessio Zerbin
Below is the complete interview:
How did you fit in at Cremonese?
“The impact has certainly been positive, from the first moments I understood that something important can be achieved and the coach made a great impression on me right away. I am happy to have started like this, but we are still at the beginning and there is still a lot of work to do. Let’s keep our feet on the ground and pedal even more than before, there is still a lot to do before reaching our goal”.
As an outside midfielder, you are doing well. Has your role evolved in recent years?
“At first, I was hesitant to play on the right after many months on the left, but thanks to the work on the field, I am also feeling good on the other side and it is a role that I feel is mine at the moment”.
The missed salvation of Venezia with Zerbin as protagonist
Last year you also played in a team aiming for survival. What do you bring with you from that experience?
“The goal is the same, unfortunately with Venezia it didn’t end as we wanted but we gave our all and this year we will have to do the same. We started well, but from here to the end of the season is still long. I bring with me the fact that details make the difference, every game is crucial and can help you place one more brick towards the final goal”.
In the first two games, you were immediately impactful…
“The coach tells me that I have to be impactful in every game, whether it’s through a goal, an assist, or a goal-line save. He asks me to make an impact and show that I am always there, even after the recovery from Doig he repeated it to me. This encourages me to do even better”.

You made your debut for the National Team in 2022. Do you still think about playing for the Azzurri?
“The National Team is on par with the top teams in the world, it’s a dream for any player. I carry with me the memory of my debut with coach Mancini, but I only think about working every day to do well in Cremona”.
From Vardy’s arrival to past coaches
In recent days, Cremo has further structured itself with the arrival of several new players, including Vardy. How did you react to these new additions in the locker room?
“The arrival of Jamie and the other guys should not change our attitude towards the goal, which is survival. We all know Vardy and we know what emotions he has transmitted to us throughout his career. He has approached with humility and great desire to do well, with his experience and quality he can give us a big hand”.
Do you perceive the enthusiasm of the fans towards Cremo?
“Since I saw the stadium for the first time and since I live in the city, I perceive the desire and passion that exists in Cremona for football. We must ride the enthusiasm that was born last year, it is up to us to drag all the fans to achieve our goal”.
You have had many coaches of great caliber. Is there a common denominator among them?
“I always say that I have been very lucky because lately I have had many important coaches, from Ancelotti and Gattuso to Conte and Spalletti. They are all different coaches, but each of them has allowed me to improve in some respects and enrich myself technically, tactically, and personally”.
From the Cremonese project to fantasy football
Cremonese strongly wanted you this summer. What convinced you to choose the grigiorosso project?
“The first contacts were already in June, then I started the retreat with Napoli and received other interests. What convinced me was the coach’s work, in addition to the ambitions they told me about: plus, the sports center is beautiful and it’s good to live here. All these aspects made me choose Cremona”.
How do you deal with competition from your teammates?
“It’s part of football, in training it pushes you to always do something more and it’s useful to have it in all roles. Barbieri and Floriani Mussolini always train very well, Romano was impactful against Sassuolo and I am very happy for him. In training, I sometimes challenge him and he goes at full speed, forcing me to do the same. This allows me to further improve”.
The former grigiorosso Walter Viganò, whom you know well, spoke very highly of you and was at the Zini on Friday to see you live….
“I spoke to him on the phone, we have a dinner planned. He made me debut in senior football at Gozzano when I was still a child and he always believed in me. I hope to see him soon because besides being my coach, he is a dear person to me, who has given me a lot”.
What is your seasonal goal? Someone is already ready to buy you in fantasy football…
“The coach’s words impressed me, when he asked me to always be impactful when I go on the field. There I understood that this must be my personal goal. Will I buy myself in fantasy football? Yes, I will do the auction this Sunday”.

Crazy night at San Siro: Pisa almost pulls off the upset, Rossoneri saved in stoppage time

Parma by Carlos Cuesta hosts Como by Fàbregas: a challenge between the two youngest coaches in Serie A, but with very different destinies at the moment.
Tomorrow afternoon, Parma will host Como in a fascinating and internationally flavored match: on one side Carlos Cuesta, on the other Cesc Fàbregas, the two youngest coaches in the league and compatriots. On paper, the projects of the two clubs seem similar: both focus on fresh ideas, ambitious coaches, and squads built on young players to be valued.
But the reality on the field tells a different story. While Como has confirmed the solidity and style seen in the last season, as demonstrated by the splendid victory against Juventus in the last round, Parma seems to be stuck, unable to find continuity and rhythm.
Rome, Italy 22.12.2024: Emanuele Valeri of Parma during Italian football championship Serie A Enilive 2024-2025 match AS Roma vs Parma Calcio at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Parma, confidence to regain
The main problem for Cuesta remains the lack of a clear playing identity. The yellow-blue team often appears lacking bite and struggles especially in the offensive phase, where it seems to overly depend on the individual plays of its best players.
The serious injuries of Ondrejka and Frigan have certainly complicated the plans, but the feeling is that more decisive action could have been taken in the summer transfer market, especially after the significant departures of Leoni, Bonny, and Sohm. Now Cuesta finds himself with a squad lacking quality and alternatives, while the management, despite reiterating confidence in their coach, cannot ignore the warning signs.
Another misstep could indeed raise doubts about the future of the Spanish coach, with fans finally asking for a solid performance and some signs from an attack so far too dependent on Pellegrino.

Inter coach Christian Chivu speaks at a press conference on the eve of the big match against Napoli at Maradona.
No one is in better form than Inter. The Nerazzurri, coming off 7 consecutive victories in Serie A and Champions League, want to continue their great form in the big match against Napoli. The Maradona challenge, between the top two teams of last season, could determine new power dynamics at the top. Currently, both teams are tied on 15 points in the standings.
The match against Conte’s team also gives Inter a chance to redeem themselves after losing last season’s title to Napoli by just one point. On the eve of the game, Inter coach Christian Chivu spoke at a press conference. Here are his words.
Inter, Chivu’s Words

Match.
“We can’t make comparisons with last year but look at what happened last year: they won the league and we didn’t. The rivalry and ambitions are there.”
Rest Day.
“I don’t need to justify it, it seems normal to me. Sometimes, it’s the best training. We’re coming from a very intense period, it seemed right to take a break and give them a day with their families. I trust their professionalism.”
Can this game shape the season?
“It’s important, we’re only on matchday eight. We understand that a lot is at stake but not everything. We go with conviction and we must be prepared.”
Are you preparing something different?
“I’ve learned that all games should be treated equally to maintain continuity, you can’t afford to consider yourself superior to others or you won’t win. I’ve been in teams where training was harder than the matches but we always had the right attitude.”
Lautaro’s Partner.

“For me, it doesn’t change anything, I have 4 compatible and generous strikers, if I mix them, the team’s performance remains the same. For me, there are no pairs, they have shown they can play together.”
Is it becoming harder to score in Serie A?
“I don’t see a problem, it means teams are well-prepared and so are the coaches. Abroad, there’s less concern about the opponent and more focus on the development of your own team. But it doesn’t mean that Italian football is declining or lagging behind, it’s a different way of interpreting it.”
Napoli is the team that beat them a year ago: is there a desire for revenge?
“I don’t think they have any chips on their shoulders. After Conte, there was Inzaghi and we won the second star and played two Champions League finals. I don’t think facing Conte is an extra motivation, we are Inter.”
Rotations.
“Diouf and Luis Henrique have played less so far but they have room for growth, I don’t consider them ready yet, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t given them the opportunity. Perhaps with many close games, I had less time to listen to them and explain things, but they have quality, I see it every day and there will come a time when they unlock and we’ll see them on the field more often.”
