Twenty-first appointment with “Macché te lo guardi?”, the weekly column by Calciostyle dedicated to the 2024/2025 Serie A women’s championship.
The women’s football movement in Italy in recent years is gaining more and more space, attracting the interest of millions of fans who live sports in our beloved Boot. Despite there still being a vast majority of people who “snub” this category, in recent seasons there have been several events and facts that have elevated women’s football to a very high level.
We cannot ignore the transition to professionalism (July 1, 2022) and reaching milestones that were unimaginable just a few years ago, such as reaching an audience of 40,000 spectators for a single match.
Compared to other European countries (especially Spain and England), the difference in terms of audience and interest in women’s football is, quoting a popular Roman expression, “still a dear friend,” meaning very wide.
By also exploiting the irreverence of the column title “Macché, te lo guardi?”, we want to shed further light on a reality that is increasingly taking hold in our beloved country: women’s football. Ultimately, as Italians, we are only interested in watching and being able to comment on the football played, regardless of who is playing.

Women’s Serie A, third round of Scudetto and Relegation Pool
Third day of the Scudetto and Relegation Pool of the Women’s Serie A. For the relegation battle, Sampdoria and Napoli only managed a dull 0-0 draw that did not change the standings, leaving these two teams as the only ones truly fighting to stay in the top flight. In the other match, Como beat Lazio 0-2, grabbing the top spot in the Relegation Pool at the expense of the Biancocelesti.
In the Scudetto Pool, Fiorentina surprisingly defeated Juventus with the double magic of Boquete. Despite the heavy defeat, the Old Lady officially qualifies, with 7 rounds to spare, for the next edition of the Women’s Champions League. Closing this round of the championship is the thrilling Milan derby, with Inter hurting themselves twice before being equalized by Ijeh ten minutes from time.
Relegation Pool
Boredom reigns: the relegation battle ends in a draw
Sampdoria – Napoli 0 – 0
These are the two teams truly fighting to stay in the Women’s Serie A. Since the start of the season, Sampdoria and Napoli have been at the bottom of the standings and will have to fight tooth and nail to secure a spot in the top flight. They will have to because in the match between the two teams played on Saturday the 15th, emotions were close to zero.
At La Sciorba, boredom reigns as the two teams never manage to threaten the opposing defenses. The goalless draw benefits Napoli more, who remain 2 points ahead of Sampdoria with five games remaining. The upcoming matches against other teams in the Relegation Pool will also be crucial, awaiting the return match in Napoli.

Como overtakes Lazio: end of the Biancocelesti’s positive streak
Lazio – Como 0 – 2
42′ Picchi (C), 75′ Del Estal (C)
After six consecutive positive results, Lazio under Grassadonia, who led the Relegation Pool, is halted by Como, a team that overtakes the Biancocelesti in the standings, taking the lead.
One goal in each half was enough for Como to overcome Lazio. The opening goal came thanks to an indecision by Cetinja. In the 42nd minute, a cross from Guagni into the box resulted in the ball reaching the goal line, with Picchi taking advantage with a simple tap-in.
Lazio felt the blow and, like in the first half, despite having more possession, struggled to create scoring opportunities. With 15 minutes remaining, Como doubled their lead through Del Estal. A long pass from Ghilardi turned into an assist, with the Como forward eluding Eriksen and beating Cetinja.
Como secures their second consecutive victory, climbing to 28 points in the standings, surpassing Lazio in the Relegation Pool standings. Lazio’s positive streak of six consecutive results comes to an end.

Scudetto Pool
A double from Boquete sinks Juventus
Juventus – Fiorentina 0 – 2
7′, 76′ Boquete (F)
Juventus falls at home to a lively Fiorentina and a spectacular Vero Boquete, who scored a double. The Viola opened the scoring in the 7th minute: Janogy on the right in the box played a one-two with the Spanish player born in ’87, who, from the small area, shifted to her left foot and unleashed a powerful shot under the crossbar, beating an unsuspecting Peyraud-Magnin.
The Old Lady struggled and had difficulty creating chances, ending the first half behind. In the second half, the Bianconere seemed to return with a different attitude and came close to equalizing with Cantore shortly after. The ball slipped in the penalty area with the number 9 sitting down her direct opponent and taking a sure shot. A miraculous save by Fiskerstrand kept Fiorentina’s lead intact.
With 15 minutes remaining, Boquete repeated her magic with another masterpiece. A free-kick from the ’87 class, placed wide, drew an impressive arc towards the far post, deceiving the Juventus goalkeeper.
An important victory for Fiorentina to keep Milan at bay. The second defeat of the season for Juventus, who remain firm at the top and very confident of securing the final victory.

Explosive derby: Unlucky Inter with a double own goal
Inter – Milan 3 – 3
14′ Milinkovic (I), 38′ Merlo (og), 45+4′ Cambiaghi (I), 65′ Milinkovic (og), 68′ Wullaert (I), 80′ Ijeh (M)
The third round of the Scudetto Pool concludes with the Milan derby. Slightly different situations in the standings for the two teams: Inter fights for second place with Roma, while Milan, at the bottom of the pool, tries to catch up with Fiorentina.
It was the Nerazzurri who started strong and, after a couple of chances, scored from a corner kick through Milinkovic. A corner from the left by Serturini, the Rossoneri defense failed to intervene, leaving the central defender free to score from close range in the center of the box.
Inter continued to dominate until the 30th minute when Bakker’s team, after half an hour of defensive play, started causing some trouble for the Rossoneri defense and equalized in the 38th minute. Dompig with a series of feints that deceived Milikovic, created the right space to deliver a cross to the onrushing Ijeh. The forward was intercepted by Merlo, who inadvertently scored an own goal, bringing the match level.
At the end of the first half, Piovani’s side regained the lead with a flying play by Cambiaghi. A similar action to what happened a few seconds earlier, with SerturiniGiuliani made a crucial save, sending it out for a corner.
This time, the Inter forward reached the ball off Serturini’s cross in a flying stretch, beating the passive Rossoneri defense.
The second half had a slower pace than the first, with Inter having two great chances before being equalized again by Milan, this time through an own goal. The Nerazzurri were very unlucky.
A scorching individual play by Renzotti on the right, surpassing Andres and delivering a ball into the box to the near post. Milinkovic, in an attempt to beat Koivisto, sent the ball into her own net. The Rossoneri’s equalizer did not last long. Less than three minutes later, Inter regained the lead with Wullaert.
A defensive mix-up by the Rossoneri backline with Giuliani and Vigilucci allowing the ball to slip into the box from the left by Csiszar. The quickest to react was the former Wolfsburg player, who from close range didn’t miss.
To close the goal-filled derby, Ijeh equalized for the third and final time with 10 minutes remaining. From a free-kick from the center circle, the Nerazzurri defense was caught off guard, with Sorelli heading the ball from close range. Runarsdottir intercepted but left the ball loose on the goal line for the winning touch by Ijeh.
Inter did not fully capitalize on Juventus’ slip at home to Fiorentina but managed to distance themselves from Roma, who have a game in hand. A bitter draw also for Milan under Bakker, losing ground to Fiorentina.

Disappointing home debut for Rossettini’s Roma. Defeated 0-4 against Barcelona’s aliens in a sold-out Tre Fontane. Second matchday and second defeat for Roma under Rossettini in the Women’s Champions League. After facing Real Madrid a week ago, Roma welcomed the aliens from Barcelona. “Aliens” because they are not only one of the strongest, if not the strongest, teams in the world, but also had a superb start to the season. Since the beginning of the 2025/2026 season, Barcelona has played 8 matches, winning all of them, scoring 44 goals and conceding only two. A true powerhouse, which also crushed the Giallorossa team in a completely sold-out Tre Fontane.

Despite a significant technical gap, Rossettini‘s girls managed to keep up with the Spanish team in the first half, ending the first half only one goal down, scored less than two minutes into the match. Roma played a defensive game, trying to limit Barcelona‘s constant passing game and exploiting their high defensive line for counterattacks. The opportunity for an equalizer came to Viens, who faced the opposing goalkeeper one-on-one but was unable to score. In the second half, due to collective fatigue, Barcelona scored three more goals past Baldi‘s goal. The Spanish team also missed a penalty with former Ballon d’Or winner Putellas, who shot high. Despite the differences on the field, there are positive aspects for coach Rossettini to take into account for the upcoming matches in the league and Champions League, where the opponents will be, at least on paper, more manageable and within reach. Roma – Barcelona 0 – 4 (2′ Brugts, 58′ Nazareth, 71′ pen. Putellas, 90′ Hansen)
