Eighteenth meeting with “Macché te lo guardi?”, the weekly column of Calciostyle dedicated to the 2024/2025 Serie A women’s championship.
The women’s football movement in Italy in recent years is gaining more and more space, attracting the interest of millions of fans who live sports in our beloved country. Despite there still being a vast majority of people who “snub” this category, in recent seasons there have been several events and facts that have brought women’s football to a very high level.
We cannot overlook the transition to professionalism (July 1, 2022), reaching milestones that until a few years ago were unthinkable, such as reaching the quota of 40 thousand spectators for a single match.
Compared to other European countries (Spain and England above all), the difference in terms of audience and interest surrounding women’s football is, to quote a famous Roman expression, “still dear friend,” meaning very broad.
Also, using the irreverence of the column title “Macché, te lo guardi?”, we want to shed further light on a reality that is increasingly taking hold in our beloved country: women’s football. In the end, what interests us Italians is just watching and being able to comment on the football played, regardless of who is playing.

Women’s Serie A, recap of the eighteenth round
The eighteenth and final round of the Women’s Serie A regular season offers a mountain of goals, with several exciting matches in terms of entertainment and goals. In fact, in three matches, 20 goals were scored! The opening spectacle was provided by Lazio and Inter in what was undoubtedly the most thrilling match of the day: 4-4 with Piemonte scoring a poker. Sassuolo secured three points against Sampdoria, relegating them to the bottom of the table.
A goalless draw between Fiorentina and Roma, while Juventus strolled at Milan‘s home, dealing a heavy blow to the Rossoneri. A crucial victory for Napoli in terms of survival in the match against Como, who suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. The Larian team had to give up the last slot for the championship pool to Milan, despite the heavy defeat suffered.
Incredible show at Fersini: sensational poker by Piemonte
Lazio – Inter 4 – 4
2′ Tomaselli (I), 8′ Csiszar (I), 66′ Magull (I), 69′ Merlo (I), 62′,65′, 84′, 90+3′ Piemonte
How to start the day with a better match than this? The match at Fersini in Formello between Lazio and Inter provided 90 minutes full of emotions and reversals of fortune for all passionate fans.
Right from the start, the Nerazzurri took the lead with an ex-Roma player Tomaselli. A pass from Cambiaghi for the midfielder’s run into the box, where she shifted and defeated Karresmaa with a right-footed shot deflected by D’Auria. No sooner had they scored that Inter doubled the lead with Csiszar. Schough receives on the left side of the box and centrally serves the Hungarian midfielder, who doesn’t hesitate to unleash a sharp low shot into the near corner where Karresma couldn’t reach.
The first half ended without any other major incidents as both teams closed the first 45 minutes with a score of 0-2 in favor of Piovani‘s side. An hour into the game, the Piemonte show began: the Biancocelesti striker brought the match back to level terms with two goals in 3 minutes.
At 62′, Benoit found the 97′ class player in the box, and with a colossal mistake by Milinkovic, she drilled a precise volley with her left foot from close range, beating Runarsdottir. Two minutes later, Piemonte scored her personal brace. A cross from the left by Zanoli to the Biancoceleste’s number 18, who turned in the air with a left-footed shot, putting the ball into the top corner, restoring parity.
The 7 minutes from the 62nd to the 69th minute were only for the brave-hearted: after Piemonte‘s brace, Inter surged ahead again by two goals. Indeed, no sooner had they celebrated the equalizer than Lazio conceded a long-range goal from Magull. The former Bayern Munich midfielder received at the edge of the box and unleashed a rocket into the near corner that Karresma couldn’t reach. Three more minutes, and Inter scored their fourth with Merlo. A masterful move by the Nerazzurri that led to a shot by Bugeja, a miracle save by the home goalkeeper, the ball slipped to the far post where the Biscione’s winger didn’t miss from close range.
A new double advantage for Inter just over 20 minutes from the end of the game. Disagreeing with this was once again the Lazio striker, Martina Piemonte. At 84′, she completed her hat-trick with a great turn in the box after a scramble in the Inter’s penalty area, reopening the match.
At the last minute, the 1997-born player also scored a poker: a replica of the goal she scored a few minutes earlier. Receiving back to goal for Piemonte who turned, this time to the right, and with a precise right-footed shot across the goal, she brought joy to the entire team coached by Grassadonia. A day that the former Milan and Roma striker, author of her first Serie A poker, will hardly forget.
This concludes the regular season for Inter and Lazio, with the Nerazzurri qualifying for the championship pool in second place, 7 points behind leaders Juventus. The Biancocelesti, on the other hand, finished in seventh place, which secures their place in the survival pool.

Sampdoria falls again: last place in the standings
Sampdoria – Sassuolo 0 – 2
26′ Sabatino (S), 73′ Clelland (S)
In the last round of the regular season, Sampdoria suffered another defeat, this time against Sassuolo, landing them in last place in the standings. At La Sciorba, the hosts started better with a shot by Arcangeli that forced Durand to make an extraordinary save and dive to turn it into a corner.
Despite a better start from the Doriane side, Sassuolo took the lead at the first opportunity with a header by Sabatino. Clelland entered the box and tried a shot, the Samp defense intercepted but handed the ball to the onrushing Philtjens who managed to cross for Sabatino to head in from close range. Despite Pisani‘s intervention, the ball was not deflected enough to prevent the goal.
Sampdoria did what they could, creating some danger for Durand‘s goal, but in the end, they had to succumb. Sassuolo gained momentum and began to create more noteworthy actions. In the 73rd minute, the Neroverdi sealed the deal with a thunderous strike by Clelland. Speeding down the left side, the number 25, as soon as she entered the box, unleashed a rocket that nestled into the far corner, leaving the Blucerchiato keeper motionless.
Both teams will play in the post-season survival pool, with Sassuolo surely playing more carefreely than Sampdoria, who slipped into last place after Napoli’s victory over Como.

Boring match at Viola Park: a draw that serves no one
Fiorentina – Roma 0 – 0
A lot of boredom and few joys in the match at Viola Park between Fiorentina coached by De La Fuente and Roma by Spugna. The two teams failed to capitalize on the slight misstep of Inter at Lazio and did not close the gap on the Nerazzurri, falling further behind the league leaders Juventus.
After a soporific first half with only one dangerous opportunity for each side, in the second half, Roma tried to secure the three points with a few glimpses, culminating in the crossbar hit by Haavi. Fiorentina attempted in the final stages with some offensive sorties, but after three minutes of stoppage time, the match ended in a draw.
A draw that serves neither of the two teams, both of which are qualified for the championship pool. The Giallorosse continue to lose ground on Juventus, further diminishing their already slim hopes of fighting for the league title.

Girelli show: Juventus only needs 6 minutes
Milan – Juventus 0 – 6
25′ Girelli (J), 27′ Boattin (J), 31′ Girelli (J), 39′ Girelli (J), 89′ Bergamaschi (J), 90+1′ Vangsgaard
Juventus overwhelmed Milan in the last round of the regular season. Everything was too easy for the Bianconere, who wrapped up the game against the Rossoneri in just five minutes. At 25′, a corner from the right by Boattin to Girelli‘s head, who soared and, thanks to a lucky deflection off the Diavolo‘s defense, beat Giuliani. Two minutes later, Juventus doubled their lead with Boattin.
A lightning counterattack from the Vecchia Signora saw Bonansea go one-on-one with the Rossoneri keeper and pass to Boattin on the left, who tapped in a goal into the unguarded net. Another 4 minutes and Girelli scored the third goal, again. Krumbiegel entered the box and was brought down by Stokic‘s late tackle: no doubt for the referee who pointed to the spot. Girelli stepped up from the penalty spot and perfectly placed a right-footed shot, completing her personal brace.
The Bianconeri striker was not satisfied yet, and at 39′, she completed her hat-trick. Krumbiegel broke into the box and crossed, the Rossoneri defense cleared poorly, leaving the ball in the air for Girelli to head over Giuliani and virtually seal the match.
In the second half, the story remained the same with Juventus dominating the match and extending the scoreline to 4-0 at 89′ with a goal from former Bergamaschi. Vangsgaard served Lehmann in the middle, who missed the simple right-footed tap-in, then tried with his left foot but found the Rossoneri defense’s block. On the rebound, the quickest was Bergamaschi, who didn’t miss from close range.
At 90+1′, there was also a celebration for former PSG player Vangsgaard, who scored, on a precise pass from Krumbiegel, with a splendid shot curling into the far corner.
Juventus confirms their first position, extending their lead in the standings over Inter and Roma, while Milan, despite the heavy defeat, secured the last spot to access the championship pool thanks to Como‘s defeat to Napoli.

Napoli – Como 4 – 2
44′ Kramzar (C), 49′ Sliskovic (N), 52′ Banusic (N), 77′ Kramzar (C), 80′ Jelcic (N), 83′ Moretti (N)
Second league victory for Napoli that leaves the bottom of the table and prepares for a crucial survival pool to remain in the top flight.
A high-paced game between the home team Napoli and Como, with chances from both sides. To make better use of them, the Larian team took the lead at the 44th minute with a goal by Kramzar. A cross from the left by Petzelberger for the well-timed run of the 2006-born player, who punished the Parthenopean defense with a right-footed volley.
The second half started all blue. In the 49th minute, a long ball from the midfield by Lundorf into the box for Muth. A decisive exit by Gilardi who momentarily intercepted it, but the goal was left unguarded, allowing Sliskovic to score.
Three minutes later, it was time for

Serie A Women: “What are you looking at?” – Recap of the 6th round – Football style
The weekly appointment with “Macché te lo guardi?” returns, the column by Calciostyle dedicated to Serie A Women 2025/2026. Here is the sixth round!
The women’s football movement in Italy in recent years is gaining more and more space, attracting the interest of millions of fans who live the sport in our beloved Boot. Despite there still being a vast majority of people who “snub” this category, in recent seasons there have been several events and facts that have elevated women’s football to a very high level.
Compared to other European countries (Spain and England in particular), the difference in terms of audience and interest surrounding women’s football is still significant. In the summer, the performances of the Italian National Team (reaching the semifinals) at the European Championship, held in Switzerland, certainly brought a lot of attention to the entire movement, but there is still a long way to go to give the Italian championship the right spotlight.
Taking advantage of the irreverence of the column’s title “Macché, te lo guardi?”, we want to shed more light on a reality that is increasingly gaining ground in our beloved country: women’s football. Because, in the end, us Italians are only interested in watching and commenting on football played, regardless of who is playing.
Serie A Women, the sixth round:
The sixth round of Serie A Women is in the books. To kick off the weekend of women’s football, Ternana, on the field of Sassuolo, secures their first victory in Serie A. Como, led by Sottili, currently sits in second place in the standings. Milan is defeated in the 90th minute by Como with the fifth goal in six rounds by Nischler.
The streak of three consecutive victories for Fiorentina stops at Parma with a 1-1 draw. Napoli surprises Inter with a 1-0 victory at home. Roma wins the Rome derby against Lazio, taking the top spot in the standings thanks to Di Guglielmo’s goal. Finally, Juventus returns to the top 4 with a 2-0 win against Genoa.
First points for Ternana: Pellegrino Cimò leads to victory:
Sassuolo – Ternana 0 – 1
14′ Pellegrino Cimò (T)
In the sixth round of Serie A Women, Ternana secures their first win of the season, ending a streak of five consecutive defeats. Pellegrino Cimò’s goal gives the three points to Cincotta’s team. The young player’s performance was exceptional, as well as the defensive performance of the entire team. Ciccioli stood out with some great saves, including a crucial one on Clelland’s shot.
For Sassuolo, it was a heavy defeat after a good home draw against Inter. They need to review their offensive phase, where the entire team lacked efficiency. Ternana climbs to three points in the standings, still at the bottom, while Sassuolo is penultimate with five points.

Di Guglielmo gives the derby win to the yellow and red team – Football style
Views: 71
The sixth matchday of Serie A Women delivers a beautiful Capital derby, ending 1-0 in favor of Roma. Di Guglielmo seals the deal.
In a festive Tre Fontane, the first seasonal derby of Serie A Women between Roma and Lazio takes place. The atmosphere among the stands is that of big occasions, and both teams take inspiration from it, creating a very lively first half.
After less than thirty seconds, Lazio approaches Baldi‘s goal with Piemonte, who fails to connect with the ball from close range. After the initial scare, Roma gains momentum and confidence, launching an assault on the goal defended by Durante. The first scare for the Biancocelesti comes in the 9th minute as the Giallorossi claim a penalty for a handball in the Lazio defense area.
The referee is called to the FVS. After a lengthy review, the referee decides to uphold his decision not to award the penalty kick. Benoit‘s arm was too close to punish the intervention of the Biancoceleste defender. Roma continues to dominate the game and create chances, coming close to taking the lead twice. First Giugliano, then Greggi hit the crossbar with powerful shots from outside the box: on the follow-up of the second one, the Giallorossi take the lead with Bergamaschi. However, the position of the Roma player is clearly offside: the score remains level.
The deadlock is broken in the 30th minute with a long-range goal by Lucia Di Guglielmo. Greggi, from the edge of the box, confuses her direct opponent with a body feint and passes to Viens on the right, who turns and crosses. The ball travels into the box and reaches the Giallorossa number 3, who volleys it into the top corner where Durante can’t reach.
GIADA GREGGI ( PHOTO BY SALVATORE FORNELLI )
Greggi, very inspired, closes the chances tally for Roma with a long-range shot. The midfielder, in the 45+2nd minute, attempts a shot from distance that the Biancoceleste goalkeeper miraculously deflects under the crossbar.
In the second half, the Giallorossi’s siege becomes less insistent as Lazio seeks the equalizer with more determination. The Biancocelesti come very close to leveling the score with Karczewska. The substitute striker fails to take full advantage of the Giallorossi defense’s lapse, narrowly missing the target.
The second half, however, is full of opportunities, with Roma hitting the woodwork for the third time in the match from a corner kick with Rieke. After making a save to end the first half, Durante is once again forced to excel, tipping Rieke‘s header over the bar. The Giallorossi continue to create chances with Greggi: number 20 dribbles into the box with a giant slalom and plays it back to Pilgrim, who shoots wide.
In the 90th minute, another close call. From a corner kick, Rieke receives the ball in the box, evades half of the defense, and slots it into the bottom corner. However, the referee whistles for a foul against Lauria. After the FVS, the referee confirms his decision, causing frustration on the Roma bench. At the final whistle, a heated argument ensues between Lazio coach Grassadonia and a member of the Giallorossi bench.
Therefore, the Capital derby ends 1-0, with Di Guglielmo‘s goal in the first half sealing the victory. A bitter city derby for the Biancocelesti, who have been defeated in 5 out of 6 encounters. The only draw occurred at the beginning of the last season.

Serie A Women, today’s Rome derby: the previous encounters
Today, on the occasion of the sixth day of the Serie A Women 2025/2026, the Rome-Lazio Derby takes place: here are the statistics of the previous matches.
At stake in this Serie A Women derby, there is a lot: today, at the Tre Fontane (kick-off is at 3.30 pm), over two thousand spectators are expected. Roma is looking to extend their lead over Como, the league leaders with 12 points, and put pressure on Fiorentina and Milan. Lazio, on the other hand, aims to overtake and reach the top.
Furthermore, this is not just any derby, as Roma’s captain Manuela Giugliano celebrates her first 200 appearances in the yellow and red shirt.
The two coaches have already fired up the teams. On one side, Rossettini, who said: “The team must restart with enthusiasm and the awareness of having done good things in, unfortunately, a lost match. There’s no need to cry over the negative result, we have the opportunity to make up for it immediately in an important match like the derby in the league where the girls are doing well.”
Grassadonia echoes this sentiment, aiming to put behind the recent defeat in the Women’s Cup semi-final: “In that match, Roma was clearly superior. Three months have passed, we want to play in the best way. We need to manage emotions well, I hope that previous experience serves as a lesson. If my team is focused on the field, they can compete with anyone.”
Serie A Women, Rome-Lazio derby: the statistic
In addition to the recent Women’s Cup match mentioned above, in the league, the yellow and reds have only collected victories and draws.
We remember, among the recent challenges, the match on November 17, 2024, where the yellow and reds won 2-1 with goals from Di Guglielmo and Giacinti, with an own goal from Thøgersen.
The team on the field today has a new coach and new faces, but still promises to entertain: the top spot is at stake.
